Don't want to start any unsubstantiated rumors, but I swear I saw Hoiberg's son throw the bones after he made a FT against Minnesota tonight.

  6. These last several days have been hell for many Nebraskans. Flood devastation stories are coming from many parts of the state. I'm sure many on this board have already donated time or resources to aid the victims of this hundred year disaster. (I'm not talking about Nebrasketball…) In case you haven't, or you want to do a little more, I have a challenge for you. For every point Nebraska scores tonight, mrs. cip and I are donating 3 dollars to nebraskastrong. Would you join us? I have a feeling the great people on this board could really impact peoples' lives. Give what you feel led to do. This board can come together over this issue. 10. Watching the replay of last night's game and he's excited as anybody about Trueblood's performance. Here's a guy that is personally invested in our school. I certainly don't mean to say other players aren't, but his off-court demeanor speaks volumes even though his career is over. Thanks again, Isaac, and all of our seniors!

  11. wow you are just full of surprises, court side tickets? Gosh if we had know you where so connected nobody on this board would have ever questioned you. We should all be happy that you didn't throw lightning bolts at us for ever questioning any thing that you sprewed. Oh please forgive us, the unwashed masses.

  13. Hurts to say this, but if this is the case good for him. He's done a lot for the program while he's been here and I wish him nothing but success where he ends up. Just as life, he's trying to do what he thinks is best for his career and you've got to commend him for it. Selfishly would be nice to have some stability and keep him around though.

Thanks for the love. We're closed on Sundays, but I would have opened for an afternoon game. Maybe next year when we're playing for a spot in the Sweet Sixteen!

  18. NIT - Nebraska Cornhuskers (19-16) at Texas Christian Horned Frogs (21-13) Date: Sunday, Mar 24, 2019 Time: 8:30 pm Arena: Schollmaier Arena, Fort Worth, TX Broadcast: ESPNU Courtesy of husker hoops twitter TCU Info Head Coach: Jaime Dixon Location: Fort Worth, Texas Conference: Big East Nickname: Horned Frogs Mascot: "Superfrog" Last time out: Beat Sam Houston State Typical Rotation Depth: 7 Line: TCU by 4.5 Tempo: Uptempo Style: High assist/pound the paint Depth: TCU is also limited, playing just 7 players Player to watch: Desmond Bane The 6'5" junior SG is one of the few consistent 3pt threats on this TCU team shooting 42.1% on the year and 45.7% during conference play. Bane put up a career high 34 on the road in Texas a few weeks ago KenPom Helps to break down the lineup PG SG SF PF C Pct 1 25 Alex Robinson 6-1 180 Sr 1 Desmond Bane 6-5 215 Jr 12 Kouat Noi 6-7 205 So 15 JD Miller 6-8 235 Sr 21 Kevin Samuel 6-11 250 Fr 25.6 The starting lineup for Wisconsin contains two guys who haven't made a 3 this year. PG Robinson is one of the top assist men in this conference but has struggled with his shot Australian Noi is a threat to shoot at all times and leads the team in 3pt attempts despite missing 6 games JD Miller is like their Roby minus the shot blocking ability; draws the most fouls on this team that doesn't draw a lot Freshman Center Samuel is an efficient scorer and TCU has been making more of an effort to feed him. His numbers indicate that if you can get a double team there he's not going to burn you passing and and he'll let you knock the ball away. TCU's lone rim protector 5'11" backup pg Kendric Davis is a defensive pest but is turnover prone and a poor shooter 6'4" freshman SG RJ Nembhard is basically depth and is a poor shooter The Skinny: TCU started the season as a deep team expected to make the tourney but lost one of their best players in PG Jaylen Fisher. Fisher has decided to transfer as well as 3 other Horned Frogs so after transfers and injuries TCU finds themselves with just 7 players in the NIT. This very much looks like a Jaime Dixon offense as it's predicated on passing the ball trying to find good looks and crashing the offensive boards in search of easy buckets. The poor rebounding Huskers will need to choose between protecting the defensive glass or leaking out on breaks because they can't do both. Turnovers will be a key for Nebraska's success as TCU is sloppy with the ball and Nebraska excels at turning mistakes into points. How this game is called will be critical as both teams can't afford much foul trouble. Both teams are pretty good at defending without fouling so it very well might not be an issue, especially since the refs will be aware both teams are short handed. This team isn't the best matchup for Nebraska but you could say the same thing the other way. Neither team has put anyone away in the last month so don't expect that tonight. Whichever team has the will to control the pace should be the winner. Who is that going to be? Prediction: TCU 78 - Nebraska 73 View full article

  26. Hopefully I’m wrong but I have heard Roby is gone regardless of who the coach is. Maybe the will change if we do in fact land Hoiberg and Hoiberg knocks his socks off. Either way, can’t blame him if he goes. And if he does...hopefully it will help with recruiting seeing a Nebraska players name on draft boards.

  30. No it’s not, but if we lose tomorrow night Miles is gone Monday morning & someone else (Hoiberg) will be named the new Head Coach. Then it’s his job to reign in the existing & incoming talent & MAYBE even bring in a Center.

  35. Two pieces of advice that I try to give myself in this situation: 1. Just go ahead and trust the AD in his decision to extend Miles' time. He's either got something lined up or he doesn't. But that doesn't affect us right now. We can complain about it later. 2. Don't worry about next year's roster until the offseason banter period. It just changes so much that it'll keep your head spinning. Let's first see if we have a coaching change, let the players make their decisions, then start evaluating our next season. There's much more uncertainty with the players and their own future themselves than there is with us. Point being, I'm just riding the hype train and seeing where it goes until Moos or the NCAA says we can't play anymore basketball in March. Who knows what's going to happen in Fort Worth this weekend, but I'm just excited this team is still fighting!

Interesting that they’d even try that. Bill Callahan had a provision in his contract here that he couldn’t be reassigned, as funny as a move to head toilet cleaner would have been. Figured it was standard contract language at this point.

  39. I’ve read they’re bringing in Jim Tressel as the head coach, Hoiberg will be his OC, Doc his DC, and Miles will actually be staying on as a donor/booster relations. Don’t quote me. Just passing along from my rock solid sources.

  40. Allegedly trying to "reassign" him now so they don't have to pay his buyout. Yikes. I'm all on board with one guy having the potential to derail a season, but one guy probably shouldn't be the difference between competing well and going entirely winless in the SEC. On topic: Siena, like Vandy, is in a superfast-spinning carousel over the last couple years. About to name their third head coach in three years (by taking away the interim title they gave their guy like two days ago after the previous HC left after a single year for George Washington). Going back to 2000, I think that school has had more coaches than I've had Skittles in the last 20 minutes (and that is an embarrassingly large number).

  41. Uh did Vanderbilt keep Kevin Stalling's number? What a mess! Bryce Drew had two 5 star guys in and the PG gets injured 5 games in and poof.

  46. Nebraska coaches' records in post-season games: Miles 5-8 (5-6 in conference tournaments, 0-1 in NCAA, 0-1 in NIT) Sadler 3-9 (2-6 in conference, 0-0 in NCAA, 1-3 in NIT) Collier 3-8 (2-6 in conference, 0-0 in NCAA, 1-2 in NIT) Nee 20-23 (7-14 in conference, 0-5 in NCAA, 13-4 in NIT) Iba 8-10 (3-6 in conference, 0-1 in NCAA, 5-3 in NIT) Cipriano 3-7 (2-4 in conference, 1-3 in NIT)

  47. Agree completely. I think the only way Roby and Allen might come back is with a new head coach that has some credibility garnered through winning. In my opinion, I think Ed Morrow and Michael Jacobson left the program because they lost faith in Miles creating a winner. JMO.
