  1. In response to the Wisconsin school classification convo. Pewaukee is in Division 2 (and ranked #2 behind Knueppel’s team). But they actually have played 3 of the top 6 ranked schools in Division 1 (largest classification). They lost to the #1 team, and beat the #3 and #6 ranked teams. Nick scored 30, 34 and 45 in those games, respectively. Regular season is now over. 31.7 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 4.1 apg, 2.0 spg. Led team in every statistical category.

Illinois has too play 3 games in seven days and two are on the road. They are against Iowa, Mich St. and the Huskers. That is a gauntlet, hopefully they will have run out of gas for the Huskers. But it would be nice if they could beat Mich St.

  4. Most NCAA teams can have the "been there, done that" mentality. Unfortunately, Nebraska hasn't been successful, going and winning at the dance. For some people, including me, that creates anxiety; both before and during games. I trust our team and I deeply love our team. Probably more than every other fan out there (granted that is my humble opinion). Yet given our less than stellar past, in my minds eye, we have to win each game in order to prove our worthiness to be invited to the dance. I know that is unrealistic; but it is what feeds that anxiety, right, wrong or otherwise.

After the Minnesota win yesterday we moved from 30 to 27. Could be in top 25 if we could get what would be a quad one win over Illinois next Sunday at their place.

Nebraska Cornhuskers (19-8) at Minnesota Golden Gophers (17-9) Date: Sunday Feb 25th, 2024 Time: 5:30 pm Arena: PBA Broadcast: BTN Minnesota Info Head Coach: Ben Johnson (3rd year) Location: Minneapolis, MN Conference: B1G Nickname: Golden Gophers Mascot: Goldie the Gopher Line: Nebraska by 6.5 Shirt not to wear: Yellow, Gold Typical Rotation Depth: 7+ KenPom rank: 63 Nota bene: The last time Minnesota won in Lincoln was in 2012 during Nebraska's first year in the B1G. Tubby Smith was the coach for the Gophers in a game played at the Bob Devaney Center. The B1G's leader in assists sets the tone on both ends for the Gophers. Player to watch: Dawson Garcia Garcia currently is leading the Gophers in scoring and rebounds. He also has the ability to pass out of the post. His outside shot hasn't been great this season, just 31.8%. Player to watch: Pharrel Payne The emergence of the sophomore post player has put the shot blocker in the middle and allowed Garcia to shift to the 4. Is an elite finisher and rebounder. Currently shooting FTs at a 40.6% clip, Payne is almost singlehandedly tanking the Gopher team FT%. Player to watch: Cam Christie The younger brother of Max Christie is a star in the making and has been a remarkable jump shooter, hitting 42.1% from 3 this season. Others to watch Mike Mitchell is one of the main 3pt threats on the team. Braeden Carrington has been a disappointment offensively but look for him to be all over Tominaga when he's in the game. Former D-II star Parker Fox has worked himself into the lineup as a reliable glue-guy post player. Wing Joshua Ola-Joseph killed Nebraska the first time they met but hasn't played much in February. F Isaiah Ihnen also rarely is used in Ben Johnson's currently tight rotation. Currently at 17-9, they are a win at Nebraska and Illinois away from being a legit NCAA bubble team. Minnesota will be highly motivated to win at Nebraska today. The Gophers are a bad matchup for the Huskers as much of their offense comes from the 3 while they take away the 3pt line. Guys like Keisei and CJ will find their looks from the perimeter rarely and rushed. The Huskers will need to keep out of foul trouble, crash the boards on defense, and keep out of foul trouble if they want to grab win #20. Nebraska should find some points off of Gopher turnovers and second chance points off of misses. Look for Nebraska to get the benefit of calls at home and to weather at least one Minnesota run. 18. I missed the start if it as we were walking up the aisle. I turned and there was a lot of yelling and gesturing. Never saw any actual physical contact but it was as close to a fight as I’ve seen in college baseball. Either Sirianni or Harvel was jawing with a GCU coach well after the teams were separated. GCU was animated all night with some over the top celebrations. The pitcher for 14 for GCU was the worst. Did a lot of woofing, and had to be stopped by the ump several times for starting his windup with the batter not yet set in the box. Should be an intense game tomorrow.

Generally regarded as one of the greatest songwriters ever, Dylan has been a major figure in popular culture over his 60-year career. Born: May 24, 1941 (age 82 years), Duluth, MN Hall of fame inductions: 1982, 1988, 2002 2. The Andrews Sisters were an American close harmony singing group of the swing and boogie-woogie eras. The group consisted of three sisters: contralto LaVerne Sophia Andrews, soprano Maxene Anglyn Andrews, and mezzo-soprano Patricia Marie Andrews. The sisters have sold an estimated 80 million records. They where from Minneapolis. Your up cip.

  34. Just a random post and didnt know where to post it. I worry very much about how offenses attack in all of these other leagues. They dont go through the post as much. We(and other big 10 teams) need to be able to defend the pick and roll actions extremely well. I think that is why the Big 10 struggles recently in the dance. It is a hard adjustment to make. All of these teams seem toi have a lot better point guards in general than we see in our league. I am very concerned that we are athletic enough to deal with such things.

Yep… most bracketologists go by how many they got correct IN THE FIELD and not seeding. Honestly, looking at our metrics, should we win what we should, we might be a sneaky higher seed than some are predicting.

If my options are: 1. Play in Omaha against a 7 seed who should be a 4 seed 2. Play any other location against a 7, 8 or 9 seed that is perceivably not very good. Id take the Omaha game 100% of the time.

I think she will help us next year. There is a place for shorter guards that have a full range of skills and the desire to excel. Look at 5-2 Soph Ronnie Porter from Wisconsin. She hurt us with 10 pts, 9 rebounds and 7 assists in our game with them earlier this season. Kennadi may be a bit taller and is a better 3 point shooter. Staying healthy will be a key.

  41. I’ve lost all faith in his leverage metrics. There’s just no way a Kentucky loss is more important than any game. I struggle to see why it even matters at all. Iowa State West Va doesn’t matter. Vermont vs Bryant? What? I think this is a case of diving too deep into numbers, like how games slightly impact other teams’ SOS rankings for example. I doubt his algorithm accounts for the value of Kansas State jumping into Q1, which IMO makes their game against BYU today the most important game of the day for us.

idk the whole story, but it seemed wrong to kick her off the team. she was not an employee of the university...her professional standards should not be the same as the coach. she's going to have a very good chance to win this case because it doesn't seem like she got much support from the university if at all. most likely we never hear about this case again, but she's probably going to get a big check.
