Cazzie22 Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 Great performance. Played terrific first 18 minutes and even the rest of the way. Can we get that defensive energy to go on the road? First, enjoy the rest and get ready for a tough battle with a physical Penn State. Quote
Vinny Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 I am so glad we did what we needed to and now we get a week to get our legs back. And thanks, Matar for getting the final back to 20! Swan88, Cazzie22, cornfed24-7 and 4 others 1 6 Quote
brfrad Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 Took care of the ball. Took good shots. Passed up good shots for wide open shots. I agree with Jake, that was the best 15 minute stretch by far this season. Michigan is not well coached. They go by Switzer's philosophy. It is more about the Jimmy's and Joe's than the X's and O's. If the Jimmy's and Joe's play well, they will beat you. Ron Mexico, busticket, BjoeHusker and 3 others 1 1 4 Quote
hskr4life Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 We desperately needed the win, but we need the week off even more. Nice to get both. Bugeaters1, ReidStag, Ron Mexico and 2 others 2 3 Quote

Nebrasketball1979 Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 We are finally catching a deserved scheduling break. Not only do we get a much needed week off but Penn St. is embarking on a grueling week. At NW tomorrow, flying back home for a game against Michigan St. on Wednesday and then flying back out to Lincoln for a game Saturday. That's a great setup for us on Saturday. Their legs should be pretty tired and allow us to jump on them like we did Michigan today. So, rest up, keep the momentum going against Penn St. and then roll into a winnable game at Indiana. hal9000, BjoeHusker, Vinny and 1 other 4 Quote
AGHANSEN Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 That was easy. That game felt like a mid major game in the middle of November. Man is it nice to blow a Big Ten team out. Huskers easily could have scored 90. We missed a lot of easy shots. Go Big Red! Quote
throwback Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 Excellent start and did enough in the final 20 minutes to just keep them at arm's length and give them no hope of a comeback. Did exactly what we needed to do. Time to rest up for a few days and then dig in for a winning stretch run. Swan88 1 Quote
HuskerFever Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 Capped our longest losing streak at 2 consecutive losses. Looks very attainable to keep it that way for the rest of the season. Quite remarkable, if you ask me. TourneyBound and Ron Mexico 2 Quote
Huskerpapa Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 That 15 minute stretch in the first half where we opened up the 30 point least was perhaps our best 15 minutes in a long, long time. Quote
Faux Mike Peltz Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 Very entertaining first half. Very enjoyable game overall, except the rather large lady who showed up halfway thru the first half and sat next to me while double fisting drinks - every time a Husker player would take a three she’d raise up her glass and spill beer on me. She also knocked a beer over and it spilled all over my coat, which was located under my seat. Oh well, at least she had fun, if she can remember any of it tomorrow morning. tcp Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 The perfect game to go into the bye on. Things lining up pretty nicely for Big Red. Get rested, healthy, and destroy all enemies, foreign and, er, domestic or something like that. Quote

huskerbill85 Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 Forgive me because I'm sick and don't have a ton of energy to search but what place do we need to finish in the Big 10 to get the double bye for the conference tournament? Quote

Looks very attainable to keep it that way for the rest of the season. Quite remarkable, if you ask me. What's even more remarkable is that Nebraska has broken several long losing streaks in 2023-24. Maybe it's only remarkable because of how bad NU was those first 3 seasons of Hoiberg & Co. All in all, though, winning -- when NU hadn't been winning much against certain good programs -- is a good sign: 11 gm to Michigan St. 8 gm to Michigan 7 gm to Purdue 7 gm to Northwestern 7 gm to Kansas St. (could have been a 7 gm vs Illinois, but alas..)
