Popular Post uneblinstu Posted March 25, 2019 Popular Post Report Posted March 25, 2019 What a disappointing way for things to come to an end. - Roby was killer. Just torpedoed any chance we had to make a game of it. The whole F2 thing with the TCU player was not good either. - It didn't help that JPJ didn't show up for the first half either. 0-10 at the break was pretty killer, too. Nice that he came out on fire in the second. - Tanner played his butt off, but he's not a guy that can carry a team. If you add that to normal JPJ and Roby games, maybe we've got something to work with. - And now we wait for whatever's next. I think it comes quickly. Probably tomorrow if it doesn't come tonight. If the rumors are true, the future is exciting, but right now, I'm bummed with how this season and this game went. If this is the end for Coach Miles, I'll always remember this era of Nebraska basketball fondly, for many reasons. I wish, oh how I wish, it would have ended differently... hal9000, pmd9, PsychoA and 20 others 6 2 15 Quote
throwback Posted March 25, 2019 Report Posted March 25, 2019 (edited) Heck of a fun run the past few weeks - we just didn't have the horses to get enough stops to make a serious threat in the second half against an uber-athletic team tonight. Still gave a tremendous effort. Edited March 25, 2019 by throwback mwm89, TomEadesSucks and thrasher31 1 2 Quote
basketballjones Posted March 25, 2019 Report Posted March 25, 2019 I just hope the pull the bandaid off, very, very quickly. We deserve it. TomEadesSucks 1 Quote
tcp Posted March 25, 2019 Report Posted March 25, 2019 It might be Tuesday until it's official, given how late it is. Hopefully he's not canning timmy in the hallway by cell phone. thanks for some good seasons and lots of quotables, Coach. Bon chance. ladyhusker, thrasher31 and Red Don 2 1 Quote
Huskerpapa Posted March 25, 2019 Report Posted March 25, 2019 (edited) Season...over. Team fought hard, but the foul trouble with Roby, his ejection and a total lack of depth ended up toasting us. Hated the months of January and February. The last two weeks or so were good to see. Showed a lot of fight, but the bar was set, and we did not meet or exceed the expected height. There is an important life lesson that many people miss, but I will not lecture. But as a person who has been on this earth for a long time, I have learned an important lesson, just because we may hate the sin, you do not need to hate the sinner. Coach Miles is a man of character and he has performed with class and brought positive national press to Husker basketball. That said, he quite honestly is not the coach to take us to the level that the fans expect and deserve. We have had a lot of coaches at this fine institution that fits that M.O. So there is no need to bash him or his staff, although many seem intent on doing so. But it is time. Now, that said, the next few days, weeks and months are going to be very interesting. I also hope that the fractures that exist within Husker basketball nation will soon be fixed/healed. Go Big Red! Edited March 25, 2019 by Huskerpapa jimmykc and pmd9 2 Quote

hskr4life Posted March 25, 2019 Report Posted March 25, 2019 Loved the fight. Sad to think this is the end of some great Eras and probably the end of a few more. Sad to see some on here so giddy that we lost. Quote

thrasher31 Posted March 25, 2019 Report Posted March 25, 2019 (edited) -This season has been literal torture honestly. We had the high of only losing to MSU by single digits in Lincoln and the Creighton game. And the low of the two long losing steaks. And then the high from Iowa to Wisconsin. Still one of my favorite seasons. -whatever happens to miles, he has coached his ass off and should get another job pretty soon if he's let go. -i think we can all conclude that Nana is gone for whatever reason. Other transfers/Roby going pro will be interesting to watch. Dachon Burke is one who may leave. Nonetheless. Miles and these seniors have us all a run to end the season that caught national attention. Glynn is one of my favorite all time players, Palmer was unstoppable at one point, and cope/Roby was a force in the post. I really wish it could've ended different, but the cards are on the table. This is still something these seniors will remember, fighting with 6 players against teams full of P5 scholarship players Edited March 25, 2019 by thrasher31 Handy Johnson and jason2486 1 1 Quote
Popular Post REDZONEDAN Posted March 25, 2019 Popular Post Report Posted March 25, 2019 I’m proud of this team because they never gave up and fought for their coach. No matter what happens these next couple of days I will always be cheering for Coach Miles whether he is still coaching my Huskers or another team. Still gave a tremendous effort. That's it in a nutshell. The one game that Roby had to ball out with TCU's big guy in there, and when he didn't this one was over. Didn't really matter if JPJ scored, unless it was 40, then maybe it changed some things. Oh well, this team made these last two weeks almost make me forget losing 11 of 13, which was more reality than merely a bad dream. Coaching matters, and so does roster construction... which became a time for Johnny Trueblood to have his moments late in his Husker career. Nov/Dec were great, winning vs CU and at Indiana were fun. Stomping Bruno in Chicago was a highlight. Palmer finished out as NU's #1 scoring guy in total points for a single season, which will remain in the record books. Glynn just steadily getting the job done for 4 years is probably my most favorite memory. He's a baller at life. I feel like Cope is the same type of dude, but it was roughly 1 2/3 seasons for him at NU. Gotta love GW for sticking with NU when all his FROSH recruiting class (Morrow, Jacobson & McVeigh) left for various reasons. Oh well, this game stunk (overall) although Tanner made me smile with his all-around play. We all knew it had to end at some point with a short deck. Bummed about the game tonight, but the sun will come up tomorrow for Nebrasketball. GBR !!! #NebraskaStrong Edited March 25, 2019 by AuroranHusker jason2486 and busticket 1 1 Quote

jimmykc Posted March 25, 2019 Report Posted March 25, 2019 Didn't run out of fight, just ran out of bullets. A memorable season, even if it didn't go the way we all wanted. To paraphrase a Zen saying: We didn't get the life we wanted, but we do have the life we have. Last night's viewing experience made me sure of one thing: I do NOT want the new court to be a white one! And Moonlight says "Welcome to baseball season".
