  1. We were 4 or 5 rows behind Delano and McGowans. Also had a chance to visit with Fred's wife, brother and sister-in-law. What good people.

  2. Big win. Gives us a chance to get another road win Wednesday to get back even for the two home losses. That would be on pace for 10-10 in the conference which gets us in the tourney for sure. Would never have thought we could win at Oregon going 4-23 from 3 - particularly missing a number of good looks. Morgan and Gary both finished really well around the rim which helped make up for the poor outside shooting. Berke did not have a big stat game but he battled hard and other than not shooting great did not make mistakes. Meah also gave us some good minutes in the 1st half when we needed them. I have been one down on Rollie at times - but he was money tonight with some big shots when we really needed them. If he keeps contributing on offense we might finish pretty strong. All that said: A. Juwan Gary may well be one of my top 10 favorite huskers (and my Husker fandom goes back to the late 1960's.) He really plays with effort and is a great leader. Not the most skilled player - but he gets the most out of his ability and comes up big at big times. His arrival (along with Emmanuel Bandoumel) a couple years ago really flipped the culture of this program when it was in a very bad place. B. Brice Williams deserves to be 1st team all-conference. I know there are some very talented players in this conference - but I don't think there is anyone more important to their team and given our limited offensive threats on this team he just has to battle extra hard every game. I hope he gets some recognition for that at the end of the year.

  5. Should be 17-5 but here we are fighting to be on the last four in. (This is gonna be exhausting to keep up)

  6. Worster was so good tonight on both ends - played so much more confidently. Offensively, I'd imagine he took what Illinois did to him personally & he decided to flip the script. Pretty amazing turnaround. That Brice dunk at the end of the half and then getting a stop was so important to steal some of UO's momentum going into the break.

  8. Dana's never has been a particularly likable guy but he's won 20+ games every single season he's been there. Maybe another coach could do more with Oregon's resources but be careful what you wish for

  9. If the tournament were to start today, we would be in the field-- even with a 4-7 conference record. 4 Q1 wins and 6-7 in Q1/Q2. Only a single Q3 loss but if Rutgers wins a few, they would pop back to a Q2 loss. Just wow. There's going to be a team or two left out of the B1G tournament with some really good wins.

  10. That is a good example of how the +/- thing doesn't make sense as a game stat. Juwan was a huge positive factor in this win. There are too many other factors can impact =/- in that small of a sample size. You can use it over several games to make points - but for a single game it doesn't mean much.

  15. The fans I talked with are not very happy with the team or Dana. It was an older crowd mixed with family. Their were not a lot of students. The facility itself was excellent and sight lines and leg room were awesome. Yes, a lot of empty seats. Looked to me that it was 2/3 rds full. Side note, my wife won their half-time bingo contest. Shared by one other winner. Sooo, some coin will be coming her way.

  19. Find 5 wins in the next 9 games... and I'll feel pretty good. Find 6 wins in the next 9 games and I'll be talking seeding. 5 home games, 4 road games. Let's do this!

  20. Amazing winning this game as poorly as we shot from three. I was kind of hoping they would continue to press us and give us a chance to get layups. I also didn't realize that being vertical on defense is not a foul, unless the home team is down and it is late in the game. Officials love to call the and one on ghost fouls late.

  22. I did not make it home in time to catch anything but the last few seconds but as a Husker Hoops fan getting a ranked road win after sitting in Allen Fieldhouse earlier and getting to hear another team do their chant after years of hearing Rock Chalk in the BDSC was a pretty good day

  24. From UNL: Williams earned his second award of the season as he averaged 27.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game in helping Nebraska post wins over No. 18 Illinois and at No. 16 Oregon. He finished with 27 points, including eight straight points in overtime, a season-best eight rebounds and four assists as the Huskers knocked off Illinois for the first time since 2018. In NU’s 77-71 win at Oregon, Williams had 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting along with seven rebounds and six assists to match a season high in that category. Williams becomes the second Husker to win multiple Big Ten Player-of-the-Week honors, joining Shavon Shields, who earned a pair of weekly honors during the 2013-14 season. View full article

  30. not only did the Huskers not have many threes go thru the hoop .... they didn't even attempt many (11). The defense was good enough that open threes rarely could be found. Ball handlers on the perimeter were closely guarded and seldom was anyone in a position clear enough to take a pass and set up for a three.

  31. It's becoming apparent to me that for this team to win: 1. Brice and Juwan don't have to be "great," but they do have to fulfill their roles and expectations. And Juwan specifically, needs to not be something he's not. 2. Rollie has to hit a shot or two and be more of an offensive threat. Everything else kinda can fall into place if those things happen. You can get different things from different guys night to night if those two things are working. Sometimes it's a Morgan post game, sometimes it's an Essegian 3pt fest. Or sometimes it's just an overall incredible team defensive effort. Whatever it may be, Brice and Juwan have to do their thing, and Rollie needs to be a point guard that can actually be a threat.

  32. Still a lot of work to be done. Need to pick up another at Washington. That end was probably closer than it should have been. Not sure Berke should be taking a three early in the shot clock with 2:54 to go and 10-point lead. Looking at the play-by-play it looks like 11 seconds but at the time seemed like 17 or something. 10-12 on free throws in the last 2 minutes. Great!

  44. Indiana scored 30 more points on threes than NU did today. Almost the exact same thing happened at P.U., the only difference is that the Huskers scored a ton in the paint against P.U., an 0-10 B1G team. Indiana's good enough whereas the Boilers simply were not.
