I would be beyong excited if we could somehow get Anrew White to come to NU.  Sit a year, get used to our system and then blossom ala Petteway/Pitchford.

For the "haters" on the board about the recruiting, this would be a HUGE get for NU.   Now, it may be a long shot obviously, but if we can get a visit, you just never know.

Might want to hold off a bit before calling people out.  We've been down this road before and been left holding the bag...

That's why I put the "it may be a long shot" part :)  But I hear ya.

White would be a great get this late in the game.  I love his size and scoring ability.  A year off may be good for him to fuel his fire and become stronger.   I'm not too concerned about his speed, look at Shavon, he is not that quick and he does alright on d.

Anyone can play m-4-m. You just adjust your pick up point based on foot speed. I like some of the concepts but not a big fan of the pack line in its entirety but when you take the deny part out of your man defense and are already in help position it takes away some of the need for lateral quickness. And when we are talking about quickness defensively we are talking about lateral quickness. In theory the pack line provides help quicker when your lateral quickness lets you down.

Outside of doing anything illegal...we need to do everything possible to land White.  Miles could turn him into a monster!

Andrew White III could be that 'right' recruit/transfer that will be able to replace Petteway when TP moves on to the next level. Hope it works in NU's favor this time! AW3 might be a "perfect fit" for Nebrasketball.

Not seen any "haters" here about recruiting.  I have seen a few that are a bit concerned.

WTF? Kreklow's going to pay $40k out of pocket to play for a rebuilding team rather than on our NCAA caliber team?

I hate Creighton as much as anyone, but they're coming off a top 20 season in which they produced the national POY. We can talk about how bad we assume they're going to be next year, but that's a decent looking resume from an outsider's perspective.

You think he chose Creighton based on that? That's giving them a lot of credit, when it's really a pretty simple decision. The dude has one year to play, and he wants just that, TO PLAY. Let Creighton fans think all the want that their program is so tradition-rich and is so well known that kids will pay just to attend there rather than take a free ride to another school. In reality, Kreklow is going to start for Creighton this year. He would have been anywhere from NU's 7th-9th player. If you had one year to play and your parents were loaded, what would you choose? He's not going there to be the next Doug McDermott or play on a possible Top 20 team. He's going there because he sees a crappy roster that has tons of minutes waiting for him.

That's a little bit of a simplistic view.  Yes, he wanted a situation where he has a strong possibility to play.  Aside from replacing 4 starters, creating a free for all for PT, Creighton had an edge because they recruited him out of high school so he was very familiar with the school, Cal played Creighton twice so he had a good feel for the game day experience was like, and money wasn't a big issue for his family, diminishing the value of a schollie.  Boy, I wish I could make a decision like that where that kind of money wasn't that big of a deal.

Personally I agree with most here, not a big loss for us......if he had chosen NU he would have maybe chipped in 5 points or so a game off the bench.  I'm hoping we can get a much bigger impact guy or two for down the road such as Andrew White.  Similar to when we had Walt and Terran sitting out Mile's first season.

Good news it appears.

Notre Dame, Florida State, Wake Forest, Miami and Maryland have reportedly reached out to the North Carolina native, but White’s interest seems to be piqued by another school in the midwest: Nebraska. The in for the Huskers? Assistant coach Kenya Hunter, who recruited White when Hunter was still at Georgetown.

Well, what are you waiting for Andrew.  Just sign up!  Or at least before we hit page 20 on your own thread.

A lot of people have been pretty critical of Kenya Hunter's ability to recruit players to Nebraska throughout the short time that he has been here. He has only been at Nebraska for a year and it looks like he could be responsible for 2 of Nebraska's most important recruits in this class. Transfers from 2 blueblood programs Georgetown and Kansas.

If Nebraska is able to land both Ayegba from Georgetown and White from Kansas, then in my opinion, he is more than pulling his own weight. As far as Kenya Hunter recruiting high school players...I believe we will start to see his results in the 2015 and 2016 class.

White would be a HUGE addition to this recruiting class.

Don't forget he brought in the highest rated recruit on an official visit that we had a legit shot with in the Miles era with Robinson. Dividends will pay off in full eventually.

To borrow a phrase someone used about Miles in another thread, I haven't seen any posts that I would describe as "pretty critical" of Hunter, maybe just concerned.

Hate to be a downer, but the source for the new article is Robin Washut's recent article on Andrew White. So, information in the new article is, actually, nothing new around here. However, Washut's information appears to be getting exposure in a number of outlets--hope this development is both positive and significant.

I'm just glad they spelled "piqued" correctly.
