  1. I love history questions. Seems like Chuck Taylor gets the prize.
  2. Clever title Jimmy. Sip will be missed. I just get the feeling that fans and sportswriters alike are over with following college sports. It's no fun anymore.
  3. "That's nothing. Try taking your school to it's first NCAA tournament and have your A.D. let your contract run out as you walk off the floor (resignation letter in hand)" Sincerely, Moe Iba.
  4. My condolences to Dorothy's family and friends. You know, if I'm not mistaken, this is the only video of Jack Moore, isn't it? Kind of ironic that you can watch his high school play. Wish there were something to watch from his days at UNL. In fact, it's a very rare clip I am aware of from Cip or Iba's years.
  5. I could live with this it works out that way. But no mention of Breidenbach.
  6. What would he bring? I guess if he has great statewide relationships with local coaches and high schools, then maybe. Otherwise I can't imagine this is a piece that gets us out of the Big Ten cellar.
  7. OK, two assistants out. Who could help right this broken ship? Well, guess one position was actually eliminated.
  8. Is it fair to say that the main difference between pre Valentine's Day and post Valentine's Day Huskers is mental toughness?
  9. When was the last time a D1 BB game had a 9-1 foul differential at any point in the game? I'm guessing that isn't tracked
  10. On the brighter side, Fred to tapped into some Yogi-isms on his post game interview with Kent, just to make things more interesting. Here are some highlights: KP: This extends your losing streak against DI majors to 18 now. FH: Yeah, It’s like déjà vu all over again. KP: Were you suprised by the crowd attendance today, considering your team's record? FH: No one comes here nowadays, it’s too crowded. KP: How about your team's mental readiness going into today's game? FH: The game is 90% mental and the other half is physical. KP: It seemed like Wilcher's 3's kept you in the game early, then suddenly, Northwestern turned this into a 22 halftime deficit. What happened? FH: We made too many wrong mistakes. KP: Doc didn't seem to engaged on the sideline today. How would you explain that? FH: Yeah, he usually takes a two-hour nap from one to four. KP: How do you explain some of Verge's early-possession shot selections? FH: With that shot clock, It gets late early out here. KP: I know this was a disappointing day, where does your team go from here? FH: When you come to a fork in the road, take it. KP: Coach, is there something you can share with fans that they can take away, looking forward to the rest of the season and next year? FH: The future ain’t what it used to be.
  11. Incredible that there are that many. My hats off to folks to took the time to go.
  12. Sadly, being a 30+ year season ticket holder, I must say I have stopped going to games. Just not worth my time anymore. I wonder if anyone here is at the game right now and can tell us if people are leaving? How many are really in the stands, would you say? 5K? 10K? What's happening there that we don't see on TV or web stream?
  13. A graphic you say? Highlighting the season? Sure. Happy to oblige.
  14. Timing, putting together a good staff, etc. Just seems to have worked better for Fred at Ames. And of course the other irony here is that Fred came in after McDermott flames out in Ames and Greg goes on to have great success in Omaha in the Big East? Why does this never happen in Lincoln? Arghh!
  15. I guess I don't get the whole Doc dynamic either. If you are going to bring Doc on your staff, it's got to be about letting him install a footprint on the "D", doesn't it? And did I miss something this year? According to this 4/6/21 article, Doc's new role As special assistant to the head coach, Sadler will not be allowed to coach during practices and games. Yet there he is on the floor, every game. I have to confess, I've been less engaged these few months with the program, and something probably happened since April 6th. But what gives?
  16. Why is it Fred was so successful at ISU and so horrible here? Agree with your observations on the effort. If it's players, then they miscalculated horribly in recruiting.
  17. Fair enough. But what needs to change to turn this around? This is what I don't get. Is Fred really that horrible of a coach? ISU didn't look like this. Did they just completely miss the boat with their recruits? I don't know.
  18. Sorry, I just posted and said basically the same thing in another thread. Great minds think alike.
  19. I have come to the conclusion that this is something bigger than just a BB problem. With all the dynamics of the transfer portal, revenue money for players while they are in school, etc., just feels like this is working against us. People snickered when Rutgers was added to the Big Ten. But when it comes to men's sports, Nebraska is the new Rutgers. It's a different story with women's sports. Anyone here feel the same way? What can possibly be the answer to dig us out of this mess.
  20. You know, I would have said that 2 years ago and replaced Mark's name with Fred. This is a jinxed program. I'm convinced this is a place where coaches come to ruin their career.
  21. All I can say is, watching this "D", the 2008 version of Doc must be rolling over in his grave right now. The Doc out there right now doesn't look as engaged.
  22. nothing better then having a CU alum deliver you bad news about your program, if you are a Husker fan.
  23. He mentioned us three times. He gave us more respect than what we have earned.
