My preference is the same, but I wonder if OSU and WSU would rather partner with the 6-8 MWC programs that are most likely to bring value to a new conference (potential viewership, football stadium size, overall athletic performance and number of sports offered) and reconfigure a new Pac-8 or Pac-10 and leaving 4-6 current MWC schools out in the cold or available for AAC, CUSA or Sun Belt membership. The top grossing MWC programs in 2022 and their average home football attendance in 2022, along with market size: Air Force ($76.6 million) 26,926 (Colorado Springs #86) San Diego State ($65.9 million) 29,225 (San Diego #30) UNLV ($64.2 million) 22,112 (Las Vegas #40) CSU ($61.2 million) 26,891 (Denver/Fort Collins #17) Fresno ($54 million) 39,067 (Fresno #52) Boise ($50.6 million) 33,538 (Boise #97) Wyoming ($50.3 million) 19,707 (Cheyenne/Laramie (#196) Hawai'i ($49.4 million) 23,454** (Honolulu #68) Nevada ($47.9 million) 14,905 (Reno #102) New Mexico ($44.9 million) 14,966 (Albuquerque #49) Utah State ($43.2 million) 16,954 (Salt Lake #27) San Jose ($39 million) 16,422 (Bay Area #10) ** Hawai'i average in 2019, the last season at Aloha Stadium. They're building a new stadium and currently playing in a 10,000-seat venue. New 25,000-seat stadium opens in 2028. If WSU and OSU want to be on board with only the strongest programs in the best media markets, they might just take the top six on this list. Wyoming and Hawaii add too few eyeballs (Wyoming) and complicate travel (Hawai'i). Utah State and San Jose are in huge media markets, but are virtually invisible up against BYU/Utah/Jazz and everything in the Bay Area. New Mexico and Nevada add some basketball cachet, but little else. What would happen to Wyoming, New Mexico, Hawai'i, Nevada, San Jose, Tim Miles and Utah State? All could fit somewhere, or a few could be added selectively. Hawai'i is already a member of the Big West Conference in everything but football already, so they could go independent, especially with the 13th-game incentive serving as a football scheduling boon for them. SJSU doesn't really excel in anything, though I hold out hope that Tim Miles keeps them improving in basketball. In football, they'd be a tough add for any conference given their historical lack of success and dismal attendance. I'd guess a four-team Mountain Time addition to Conference USA would work best. It will be a 10-team league starting in 2024 with a footprint that reaches from Lynchburg to Las Cruces. Four more Mountain Time schools (Wyo, UNM, Nevada and USU) might work as a 14-team league with two divisions, one with the "MWC Four" plus UTEP, NMSU and Sam Houston State, and a second with the teams located in Virginia (Liberty), Kentucky (WKU), Tennessee (MTSU), Alabama (Jax State), Florida(FIU), Georgia (Kennesaw) and Louisiana (Tech).3 points -

With the caveat that any game you lay an egg to Creighton is on top of the suck list, this year where the Jays have a Final 4 type team isn't topping the 2014-15 year after we went to the NCAA tourney and they brought in a hot garbage squad that beat us by 10 at home. That was one big ass egg.3 points -
Don't care too much one way or the other about anitics. They are only young once and ought to be able to howl at the moon sometimes. I kind of like it when KT hits a big 3 just before a clock stoppage and goes down to run into the other goal pads. IN GAME control is very different. Example, at one point in the OSU game, KT must have been abused by an OSU player but no call was made while he was on D. On the ensuing offensive position, he mixed it up with an OSU player, pushed him and got called for a foul. He can't do to that in a tight game. The exact opposite vs OSU was Mast. He was getting pushed around, elbowed and otherwise brutalized all game long. Mast got even by making good plays. He got the rebound, boxed a guy out so another player could get to the basket, made a pass or busted a move on O and scored a basket. Mast may holler with everyone else off the court but while the clock is running he is an intense player doing a great job! Glad he is on our side. Our other guys need to take him as their role model.3 points

Just returned home after a three hour drive in wet, dreary conditions. My take on the game is that we lost it in the first 5 minutes when time after time CU worked for open looks from three and drained them. We were in catch-up mode the rest of the game. The Jays got good looks, we did not. Creighton had much more ball and player movement resulting in open looks and some easy buckets at the rim. We stand around on offense too much for my taste and apparently we are not a good three point shooting team. Plus our guards missed 4 big free throws in the 4th qtr. -Connie Yori is a huge asset for CU. -Potts and Petrie worked well together on offense -Potts sat too long IMO -Creighton is a veteran, well schooled, physical team. They have to be to make up for lack of size. -Our guards were getting rebounds -They flew through our press and got easy shots. Team battled. Krull adds some much needed toughness. Build off this and get a couple wins in St Petersburg.3 points -

It's Sam now. But I hope they keep putting Eli out there. What if he developed like JL did last year? What if he is quite a bit above average for a 6-8 freshman? It would be really nice come February if that's the case. But gotta keep playing him to find out.2 points -

We beat Duquesne and CSF, there'll be a LOT of eyes on that Creighton game 7-0 vs 7-0. That'll be a nationally talked about event should it happen. This'll be the year we DO NOT want to lay an egg in that CU game.2 points -
Observation and we've talked about this before. And yes it's just an opinion. That game is another example different coaches, approach to player usage. Creighton used the 5 starters, most of the minutes by far, and they scored most of the points by far. And when they did that, their player to player chemistry seemed to work well. We do the other, almost opposite approach, where we play the whole bench. (I know we have injury issues) We usually have a different roster on the floor at any given time, through out the game. Just wonder, ultimately, how productive that is. Lastly, we're did compete. Defensive lapse's (sp) hurt. Lack of scoring from guards hurt. Like already said we got behind early and couldn't sustain the momentum for very long. Markowski had maybe her best game for a while. She kept us in the game, most of the game. Watched replay today. (Mon) Had we shot better as a team, we would have won. So moving on to next one.2 points
-
The first qtr technical on Coley was a big plus for Creighton. We had possession in a close game and as a result we lost that, Maly hit two free throws and they maintained possession. They then took their lead to 9 but we gradually clawed back as we did the rest of the game whenever Creighton made a run. I wouldn't put too much negative at this point on Jaz and Maddie as both were playing hurt but still gutted it out. If you noticed both Moriarity and Hake didn't play much in the 2nd half and especially towards the end when the game was on the line. I still feel good about the team but we need to get everybody healed up. In my mind the 3 position is still up for grabs.2 points

Accidentally subscribed to Peacock for this one as I thought I was just downloading the app. Im sure glad I did— that was fun! - Two double doubles in the same game… when is the last time that happened? Gary had 12/10… Mast 15/13. - We didn’t even shoot it particularly well in this one. 46/33/61 splits. We can do better on all of those. - Dominated the glass again and I think that might be a common theme as the year progresses. 44-31 overall and we had 17 offensive boards. - Went to an Oregon St message board and they were pretty down on the team. They weren’t high on us either. Apparently one of their guys is working his way back from injury. - Duq will be a tough test for us again but we should head into Creighton undefeated. I’m pumped for that one since we will. - That’s a huge week for us. Creighton, @ Minny, MSU in a 7 day span. 1 win is bare minimum… 2 is really keeping the momentum alive and 3 is ranked team and start the games of interest thread. - These are the types of games we’ve always should have won but always seem to allow it to be closer than it should and/or lose them.2 points -

I should also add there's no good reason for me to put Juwan Gary in the starting lineup over Josiah Allick. Other than just symmetry. And the fact he's putting up better numbers. And, also, I wanted a sort of natural comparison between Allick as the backup 4/5 and Breidenbach in the same spot. In the last 2 games, Allick has averaged 25 minutes to Gary's 15, but Gary is stuffing the stat sheet. This year, you have a *healthy* Juwan Gary with an added year of experience and skill development. And I'm cautious to say it, but it seems to show.1 point -

Gotcha. I know sometimes it can be a subjective line where one metro ends and another begins. But even by the most liberal definition of SLC metro, I have never seen Logan included. It's at the far northern end of Cache County, which is four counties away from SLC. I live two counties away, and Logan is still a full hour (and two county) drive past me. That being said, Logan UT has more in common with Pullman WA than SLC does, so maybe they would be fitting conference mates.1 point

I have to believe this turns into all sports playing against the MWC. MWC has to be playing at a name change to PAC 12/14. I think OSU and WSU win the court battles for control of the conference. The other teams will get a reduced payout and go on their way semi quietly. Thanking thier lucky stars they didn't lose at college realignment musical chairs. OSU and WSU with the rest of the MWC into a new PAC14 makes too much sense for it not to happen. It's an damn near perfect fit. Geographically *chefs kiss* I love it. Hopefully they don't screw it up by getting stuck on the details of how the new conference structure and power sharing goes.1 point -

Made it to the game yesterday finally. Hadnt been able to make any of the other games in person. HOLY FREAKING POTTS!!!!!!!!!!! Give me a couple more tall hard working athletic kids like her. Next year with her, Prince and AM that should be a fun crew together. I agree Potts sat way too long at the end of the game. She should of taken a breather and put right back in. On another note I think she came out in the 2nd half they ran a play for her and she made a 3. Not sure if she made another point after that. They need to do more 2 game with her and AM. Jazz!!!!! Very disappointing if you ask me. Going to be hard to win any game if she has a game like that ever. Hake... I get it she can be quick and make some things happen on offense sometimes. But she is such a liability more on Offense and Defense. Her mistakes for some reason agitate me more than others. I think its the dumb mistakes that are easy to tell your self just no. White.... I love her. She can make things happen. Her 2 missed free throws towards the end of the game hurt. Coley.. I actually didnt mind her playing yesterday. She is not much for an offensive threat but she can make things happen with rebounds and on defense she has no problem pushing players around. I kind of like her for that part. Frustrate the girls. She reminds me of the girl that went to TCU last year. AM.... I think she has improved in her 3rd season now. She is grinder. I think she has a lot more stability to go on longer runs and doesnt get so tired so easy. I really do enjoy her. KM... She didnt impress me but she didnt stand out as bad either. I think she is just missing the confidence still. Krull is a little bit slower but I do like her as you can see she has the experience. Just not a great defender of the 3 ball. Nissely.. You can tell she is a freshman but she is not afraid to shoot and play defense. I think she will be used more as the season keeps going. Need Stewart and MM Overall I actually really enjoyed watching the team. They just couldnt get over the hump but they never gave up. The girls showed some fight and are not afraid. I think we will upset some of these B1G teams but I also think we could easily lose a game we shouldnt either. I think they will be a fun group and have potential to get a lot better if you ask me. Not much of a mid game shot. Mostly 3s or under the basket type of a team.1 point -

We played well enough on offense, but agree we lost this game on the defensive side. As already pointed out too many threes in the first quarter. In football, WSU and OSU will get six games against MWC teams and will play each other. So that's seven games guaranteed for the next couple of years. WSU's Apple Cup game against UW will give them eight guaranteed. Football won't be a problem. Basketball isn't mentioned in any of the scheduling agreement stories, so that could be an issue over the two-year period of the agreement for both WSU and OSU to put together competitive basketball schedules, especially in January and February when everybody settles into heavy conference rotations.1 point -

We've basically swapped spots now with Maryland and leap-frogged OSU to move from 9th to 7th in the KenPom rankings in the Big Ten. We're inching closer to jumping over Wisconsin too so that's nice. Big test on Wednesday against Duquesne and if we pass it I think we've got a good shot at moving into the 30's. Ken has again upgraded our predicted record to 20-11 (10-10). The one problem with the entire Tim Miles era was the lack of definable and reliable post presence. The revolving door of sub-standard and inconsisent bigs was never solved. Which lead to guys like Dererk Pardon having career afternoons inside PBA (still nightmare fuel). I think your interior with this year's squad is undeniably better than anything Miles had and that's enough to keep games in the B1G closer night-in and night-out, overall. Copeland and Roby are some of my favorite players to have watchd and very talented, but they weren't dominant defenders in the paint or streetsweepers on the boards. What this team lacks (and what takes last year's team to a different level) is a player like JPJ. Perhaps Brice Williams can fill that role? Glynn was great but I think Lawrence has the ability to grow into a similar role with a potentially higher upside.1 point
