Great game and great win, HOWEVER we still have a lot of work to do. This gives us our 2nd Q1 win. No real impact on our NET, although I'm not sure if that is calculated in real time or pushed out tomorrow?

The difference between this game and WI was our defense and points in the paint.

2nd half KT gets the ball and looks to shoot a somewhat contested 3, instead he dishes to SH on his right who has a wide open 3 and makes it. I can't express in words how much I like seeing that kind of unselfish play.

That actually was right before the half as Sammy went on a personal 7-0 run, which changed the complexion of the ballgame. Loved seeing KT pass to his buddy Sammy. That was beautiful basketball!

So many players contributed to this. So many! Does anyone know how to grab a shot of Mast with those wads stuck up his nose at the end of the game? Not very savvy about that but I absofreakinglutely LOVED it as symbolic of the effort of the whole team.

How Rienk Mast started the night against the 'great' Zach Edey showed the rest of the squad that WE AIN'T BACKING DOWN! And then KT knocked a bunch of shots down, then Sammy had his 7-0 run prior to half. And, Brice and Wilch both had their moments to shine. And even Allick swishing that corner 3 had to make the Boilers feel like they were being put on ice. What a fun night! GBR

Couldn’t watch due to travel but did really enjoy watching SVP on Sportscenter give the Huskers props. Awesome win and nice to see the bounce back!

Keep the momentum going!

We need to avoid a let down against Iowa.  I highly doubt we go 14 for 23 from 3 again.  In the words of Kent need to be relentless.

I looked back.  After beating #2 Texas we lost to Kansas State by 4 at home and then to Fred's Iowa State team in OT on the road.  It'd be nice to win a couple of road games.

Absolute gold in the replies.

I said after the trip to Madison that very few teams in the country would've won that game with the way Wisky shot it.

After this game, I can definitely say that no team in the country could've won in Lincoln last night with the way NU shot it, played defense, and competed.

LOL no way. Maybe purchased tickets.

Agreed.  It was probably closer to 10,000 in actual attendance.  Still a great crowd that was into the game the whole time.  I had seats in the student section right behind Purdue's bench and we stood the entire game.  Great atmosphere!!!

There is a couple who sits in front of me who is at every single game but tonight they were not.  Given the ticket prices out there I think that there were a bunch of people who didn't make the game because of the weather.

Full notes from UNL

• Nebraska picked up its fourth win in program history against a No. 1 team and first since a 67-51 win at Missouri on Feb. 6, 1982. Nebraska improved to 4-13 all-time against the nation’s No. 1 team. The other times NU knocked off No. 1 were in 1958 (vs. Kansas State) and 1964 (vs Michigan) – both in Lincoln.

• Of Nebraska four all-time wins over No. 1 teams, two belong to the Hoiberg family as his grandfather, Jerry Bush, knocked off No. 1 Kansas State, 55-48, on March 3, 1958.

• The win was the fourth ranked win for Fred Hoiberg at Nebraska and first since a win at No. 7 Creighton on Dec. 4, 2022. Hoiberg now has 27 wins over ranked teams in his coaching career, including 10 over top-10 teams.

• Nebraska’s 13-3 mark matches its best 16-game start since the 1990-91 team opened with a 15-1 mark. NU also went 13-3 in its first 16 games in 2010-11, 1994-95 and 199-91.

• Nebraska is now 19-6 (.760) in its last 25 games dating back to Feb. 1, 2022. That is the best winning percentage by a Big Ten team in that stretch (Purdue, 22-7, .759).

• Nebraska hit a season-high 14 3-pointers on Tuesday, topping the previous season high of 12 done three other times this season, most recently at Wisconsin last Saturday. NU is now 8-1 when hitting at least 10 3-pointers. Nebraska went 14-of-23 from beyond the arc, hitting a season-high 60.9 percent. The last time NU shot at least 60 percent from 3-point range was Feb. 27, 2022, at Penn State (13-of-20).  Nebraska shot 7-of-10 from 3-point range in the first half.

• Nebraska handed Purdue its largest loss since an 82-58 loss at Michigan on Feb. 10, 2002. The win was NU’s first against Purdue since 2019.

• Nebraska’s 88 points was its highest in Big Ten play since a 93-70 win at Penn State on Feb. 27, 2002. It is the most points NU has scored against Purdue since joining the Big Ten in 2011-12 (previous high 83, on Jan. 29, 2017).

• Nebraska’s 88 points were the most Purdue allowed in regulation this season (Northwestern had 92 in its overtime win) and most Purdue has allowed in regulation since allowing 90 in a 104-90 win over Nicholls State on Dec. 29, 2021.

• Nebraska is 24-4 under Hoiberg when scoring 80+ points, including 19-1 over the past three seasons.

• Nebraska shot a season-high 50.9 percent, shooting 50 percent or better for the third time this season and first since the win over Michigan State on Dec. 10.

• Nebraska became just the third team this season to shoot over 50 percent against Purdue, as the Boilermakers were 8th nationally in defensive efficiency in KenPom.

• Nebraska held Purdue to 42.1 percent shooting (24-of-57). The only team to hold Purdue to a lower shooting percentage this season was Tennessee, which held Purdue to 35.2 percent shooting

• In three games against Nebraska in the last two seasons, Zach Edey has averaged just 12.6 ppg.

• This is Nebraska’s first win against Purdue since 2019 and the team’s best 16-game start since 1990-91, when it was 15-1.

• Nebraska had double figure runs (13-0 to end the first half; 11-0 in the second half) and now has 14 double-figure runs this season. Entering tonight, Purdue has allowed just two double-figure runs entering tonight.

• Nebraska finished with 22 assists to tie a season high (also South Carolina State) on 29 baskets. Brice Williams led NU with a career-high nine assists, the most since Sam Griesel had nine against Florida State on Nov. 27, 2022.  Over the last two games, Williams has topped his career high in assists both times, including six at Wisconsin last Saturday,

• Williams also grabbed a season-high 11 rebounds, topping his previous season high of nine set two other times.

• Keisei Tominaga’s five 3-pointers were the most by any Husker this season and most since Jamarques Lawrence hit five 3-pointers at Iowa on March 5, 2023.  Over his last three games, he is averaging 21.3 ppg on 57 percent shooting, including 48 percent from 3-point range.

• C.J. Wilcher finished with 16 points off the bench and is averaging 13.4 ppg on 65 percent shooting over the last five games. He is shooting 61 percent (14-of-23) from 3-point range in that span. NU has had at least one double-figure effort from its bench in 13 of 16 games.
