I don’t want to dwell on events from 5 years ago now, but when you’re on a list of ONE, regarding B1G Conference teams to be excluded from the Dance with that finish, it’s absurd on it’s face.

I think we were a tournament team but the committee is basically 100% analytics these days, so the writing was on the wall. This is still more fun then discussing the current state of the program at least!

Unpopular opinion. Our team that year had a pretty terrible tournament resume, and if it were any other team we probably would all understand why they were left out. **Ducks**

That year we lost to Kansas by one point.  If we won that game we were in the tourney.  One basket killed our resume….

Fred wasn’t just going to be a “return to greatness” he was taking us to unforeseen heights. Forget about gravitating towards mediocrity as some view the Miles era, it’s been a Swan Dive into oblivion. That being said, at least the end of the season will provide a sense of resolution one way or the other. Then I can proceed with my usual level of off-season disappointment, or something unforeseen that’s even WORSE…

North Carolina this year is basically us from that year. Great record against Q2-4, but minimal to zero Quad 1 wins. And in a perceived weak conference this year that’s usually strong. We’ll see what happens to them. I personally think all their fans are going to think they’re in, and they’re gonna be a middling seed in the NIT like we were. And then UNC twitter will legitimately burn.

National guys don't consider it rational that we would top either Danny Manning's $15 mil or Archie Miller's $10 mil buyouts

and they were right

Does that mean his buyout of $11M next season is too high?

Sort of off topic. Anyone know what the deal is with Michael Fly's being let go at Florida Gulf Coast?  21-11 (10-6 in conference) record gets a coach fired?  Has to be more to the story.

I have no answers but was wondering the same thing.  Really bizarre.

This doesn't seem like the reason to me, but one person's take:

ok...stupid question...how much does the coach have to do with National TV Games?  Wouldn't that fall on the AD? Seems like coaches have a lot more to concern themselves with than when or if they are going to be on TV.
