I just want to shout-out Juwan Gary. He plays with an edge and consistently makes winning plays. When UCLA was trying to come back and steal it at the end, it was Gary who slammed the door shut. It was also Gary who knocked down a couple 3s, forcing UCLA to guard him, which helped open up the floor for Brice to get to the rim (and get fouled). I do tire of some fans complaining about him taking 3s. His shot has obviously improved, and is to the point where he should be taking 3-5 open/rhythm 3s per game. The threat of him shooting opens things up for everyone. He just shouldn't try to make a living out there, and he hasn't. Gary is a program-changer, and I don't think we will understand just how valuable he is to this program until he's gone. I'd love to see the record of games with Gary in the lineup versus the same number of games without him.10 points -

Well, to be fair, their fanbase is full of entitled, pretentious douches, so that tracks. Random thought: Do UCLA fans wear sweater vests? 2nd random thought: I'm confident that NU is the first team in history to win back-to-back(-ish) conference games against teams with at least 16 combined nat'l championships.4 points -

Exactly, I think NU has a better chance this year of beating the ditch chickens in Iowa City, but winning on the road in conference is so difficult. Especially with Iowa probably being royally pissed off after getting 3 of their 4 remaining teeth forcibly removed by the ditch weasels the other day.3 points

Nebraska had 4 guys, primarily bench players, who were able to shoot 8 for 10 from the field, while the other 5 guys (with 4 starters) shot 9 for 42. And won by 8 over the #15 team in the nation. That's incredible.3 points -

Agreed with all this, he's statistically the 3rd-best 3-point shooter on the team and it's not close. I want to shout-out Sam Hoiberg. Yes he makes game-changing plays, we all know what he does out there. But I think it's extremely underrated how watching him play inspires other guys on our team to give the same effort/focus. Wisconsin fans said Connor Essegian wouldn't play defense and wouldn't care on that side of the ball. Now he may not ever be the best or smartest defender, but a large of part of defense is just caring. And right now Essegian clearly cares out there and is trying his best and it showed yesterday, even when his shot wasn't falling. +24 in an 8-point game against a top-15 team when he had 2 points? That's crazy considering he's supposed to be a liability on the other end of the floor. Coaches and Connor deserve credit for that, but ultimately great teams need players like Sam, who at "6-0" are out there busting their tails with no excuses. New players like Connor and Gavin who needed to pick up their play on defense have to be watching that every game and thinking "if he can do all that, why shouldn't I be?"3 points -
I just love that ex Huskers are coming to this awesome board! Keep them coming and providing amazing insight. Loved watching you Steve!3 points

We’re a real PITA to play. This particular roster is exotic. Very long, deceptively athletic, and smart. It’s likely the best FT shooting team we’ve ever had. Just wanted to shout out Morgan who was a friggin dude this game. He and Sam were awesome. Brice didn’t shoot well against UCLA’s elite defense but he got to the line 12 times and made 11. That’s what pros do. Also, I’m not sure anyone could watch Connor’s play and not see an enormous improvement defensively. Being able to hold his own makes us almost unbeatable if he’s shooting well. Hell of a win. We should be ranked.3 points -

So if my memory serves me right, last year we upset #1 ranked Purdue in Lincoln, stormed the court and were riding an emotional high. Then went to Iowa and lost by 20. I personally think this team has more mental toughness and more mature leadership from last year, so I’m not predicting that will repeat itself. Would love to suffocate Iowa defensively and hope Fran goes to Francon level 1 quickly.2 points -

What's sad is she could hit them at a good percentage as a freshman (50% on 42 attempts). Shot 33% as a sophomore on 79 attempts, and 30% as a junior on 71 attempts. It's puzzling that she had a good outside shot early in her career. Are our players getting better while they're here? Issues on the player development side in addition to recruiting?2 points

Not even close To a good turn out that was a fantastic turnout considering the weather conditions. Nebraska fans continue to show they are the best. The attendance is the number of season tickets (4000 or so) p!us the number of walk-ups to equal 5900 I would estimate 3500 butts in the seats. It’s really remarkable from game 1 to 14 how much essegian has bought into the defensive concepts and just the effort needed to stay on the floor. Goes 0 for 6 from 3 on 6 pretty good looks but yet his biggest impact on the game may have been how he effects spacing just by being on the floor.2 points -

Zero turnovers for Rollie, Ulis and Sam in their 58 combined minutes. In a game against the best team in the country at turning opponents over, that's probably the most important stat right there. I've been pretty hard on Rollie for how loose he gets with the ball sometimes. But you could tell from the very first possession that he was going to take ball security seriously. Not sure we win this game without his reliable ball handling.2 points -

Hake has shown very impressive improvement. Petrie some and maybe Bozan is coming along. After those, I can't think of any player development to brag on. The Kendalls give great efforts, but to my (admittedly untrained) eye they look as seniors a lot like they did as freshmen. Maybe the threes will start to fall for AM40 during conference play. I have to believe that if she weren't hitting them in practice she wouldn't have the green light to throw them up during the games. Double coverage is often cited for her decline in scoring, but that only happens down low in the lane. It's a mystery.1 point -

His shot looks smooth, but he's also taking really good and open looks. He's going to be a key shooter for us that needs to keep shooting and knocking them down. He is one that, on the scouting report, they will "sag" off of when he's on the perimeter to stop a drive. So expect more and more kickouts and if he can keep a good percentage of them going in, he's going to keep that D more honest.1 point -

Everybody who played had a hand in the win. Gary probably saved the game. Blocking an easy lay-up, keeping it in bounds when UCLA had a chance to cut the lead to 3 and then a big steal after the free throws. Sam with the strip and save protecting a 7 point lead. Big free throws down the stretch. Morgan giving us some offense. Brice getting to the line and making free throws. Rollie and Uhlis qqhandling the ball. Berke, Connor, and Meah solid on the defensive end.1 point -
