  1. Took my 3 boys and my brother-in-law to our first game at PBA. Drove over 2,200 miles to get there just for the game! Okay, maybe it’s because we are moving from BC to Ontario and stopped for a few days at my in-laws near Council Bluffs. But when I saw the game was on the schedule with senior night, I knew we needed to go! The 1st half did not disappoint, especially when the crowd erupted after KT’s pump fake and amazing 3! And my 6 year-old son and I yelled for a lot of the defensive possessions even though from 304 we probably didn’t make a ton of noise. Such fun! I told them Sparty would start making shots, but the 2nd half was crazy. It was a letdown for sure, but my boys and I will always cherish this game! We have a great arena and a tough team. Let’s keep building on this! Thanks to all of you on this board that make it so great, and all of you who go to the games to make PBA great! GBR! By the way, the Sparty fan next to me leaned over with 2 minutes to go and said, “These refs are sh*t.” I said, “Welcome to Nebraska basketball.” I think I was even whistled for a moving screen on my way through the crowds out of the arena.

  2. I also saw tired legs last night. Senior night got them through the 1st half with one of the most active and inspired defensive performances I've seen. But then in the second half the juice was gone. Feet weren't as choppy, rotations were late, didn't get loose balls and a lot of rebounds. Think they finally hit an emotional wall from the past month. Hopefully they can regroup and kick Iowa's ass.

  3. Sometimes you have to give the other team credit. They played one of the best halves of basketball I have ever seen. We weren’t at our best but they had a lot to do with it. Feel bad for the team.

  4. Keisei, it's been an honor to watch you play. If you come back, you'll make a lot of Husker hoops fans jump out of their chairs and cheer. If you choose to go turn pro back home, we'll all understand. Either way, you've made this year exciting beyond belief. We are not having a discussion about possible post-season appearances without you. And, for that, I bow in gratitude. Arigatou

  5. Sam, thank you from the bottom of my heart for not only allowing us to have an answer to this question but also for the resounding "Yes!" of an answer. You CLEARLY would not simply PLAY on a decent Big Ten team, you would START for a decent Big Ten team. It's been a pleasure watching you lead this program this season. Happy Senior Night. You will be missed.

  6. He does have some raw tools that we can work with. If he can pack on another 15 pounds in the offseason and if Blaise can figure out how to not injure himself every time he sneezes, I think we actually will have a solid rotation at the 5 despite losing Walker.

  7. Atleast Lawrence seems to be proving he’s capable of being a high end combo guard in the Big ten down the stretch here. Hopefully a nice development for next years team

  8. Hey, proud of this team. 2nd half was atrocious. But we're bruised and tired, had a lot of energy in this game; talent overtook us today. Doesn't underscore what this team has done in February and even parts of today.

  9. Derrick, you put on a special show for us fans this year. I predict it'll be awhile before we see the likes of someone like you again. A big man who can bring the ball up the floor, initiate the offense, hit cutters with regularity, occasionally lead the team in assists, and yet do all the usual big man stuff like rebound, defend the paint, and score inside. It's been a real treat watching you develop. And this was a special year for you. Congratulations on your senior night, though I know you've already graduated (I watched you walk across the stage.) You'll be missed.

  10. I was actually impressed with Oleg. He was moving his feet really well for a 7 footer. Hope he can gain some strength for next year.

  12. I thought... when MSU made that initial run and cut it to 3 and we stretched it back to 10.... that it might just be our night. But man they couldn't miss.

  13. Izzo made half time defensive adjustments that we were not able to overcome. Izzo showed why he is one of the best in the country. We didn't lose the game so much as MSU won that game. In person MSU looked impressive. Long and athletic at almost every position. Move on from this game to Iowa. We need 1 more win to ensure we finish the season at .500 and get a postseason tournament bid.

  16. I saw more of ending up against the shot clock than hero ball in the second half. Hoiberg got a couple very clean threes when they started the run and couldn’t make them. Sam was caught up against the shot clock way too much. Wilcher has to play better for us to be effective. Multiple illegal screens also did not help. When we don’t ever get a stop we also have to always face them with defense set up. And the other way around.

  18. Michigan State isn't going to shoot 28% in the 2nd half. We have to stay focused.

  20. Man, what a gut punch. Feel terrible for the guys. Derrick, Sam and Emmanuel, thank you! This has been an incredible ride. Let’s go for a little while longer! Keisei, please don’t let this be goodbye.

  21. One thing about I like about Oleg is whenever he gets on the court, I never see him make blatant bone-headed plays. At a minimum he seems like he will be a decent backup center. Not sure what his ceiling is but I like him as a role player.

  22. Yeah, I'd think it was a pretty special place too if I was a Big Ten coach and I won by 15 points every time I went there!

  23. What happened last night began vs Minnesota. Guys getting selfish and trying to get theirs, make the splash play. Every shot some of these guys take a possession where DW and KT didn’t get a look. Will have to get fixed asap.

  25. We ran out of gas...emotionally and physically. We couldn't catch up with their shooters and paid the price. Truly the tale of the first versus the second half.

Issie at honorable mention just seems wrong. Easily second team if not better. If she doesn't come back, we will definitely miss what she does for this team. Scores, rebounds, fast breaks, defends, love her inside game.... you name it.

  31. Fran's sideline behavior is mostly an act, just like Izzo dancing around like a monkey every time the refs don't screw his opponent. If Danny Nee's 13 years at Nebraska would have been as successful as Fran's 13 years at Iowa then half of the things in the state would be named after him.

  32. Not a difference in the game, but how can 1 team have 5 illegal screens and #22 for MSU walks into every Nebraska player, and gets 0 called on him?

  33. NCAA is effectively dead at this point, baring a wild ride in the Big Ten Tournament. But it would be a travesty if a team like this doesn't get a chance in the NIT. These are the types of teams casual fans like to watch, getting hot late in the season.

  35. The #10 seed is still open, but we're not in the driver's seat and need some deep tiebreakers to make it happen. We officially lost our chances at #7-#9 today. The mindset should now change to just playing well against Iowa on the road; getting our players healthy and ready for the tournament.

  47. I hate 8 pm. tipoffs. However, when you look at the number eight through biblical eyes, eight means new beginnings. God saved 8 people on the Ark. David, WHO SLEW GOLIATH, was the eighth son of Jesse. The prophet Elijah performed 8 miracles. Enjoy tonight!
