So far, I'd say it's just like last year and the guys who are portalling are the guys who the coaches probably told to portal.

We have 4 spots to fill; we are early to the trough; we have some selling points to make for ourselves; and we probably have some cash to spend.

If you've entered the portal and you want to see how you'd fit into our system, here's some film. Feast your eyes.

Nothing ever is a sure deal.  I do worry that we get the right dudes to come here.  A lot of teams with a lot of needs out there.  Bottom line, in Fred we trust.

Yeah, last year I was very worried about bringing in the right pieces to replace Walker, Griesel and Bandoumel.  However, now that Fred has proven he can identify, recruit, and replace those types of players with similar types or upgraded types of players, I feel much more confident Fred and staff will do the same this offseason.  The lesson I learned from last year is that the pieces we land may not be the ones everyone is talking about now and that's ok as long as they find the right pieces to fit and to keep moving this thing in a positive direction.  I agree it's in Fred we trust at this point.

Feels like Blaise hurts the least of the 3 transfers so far.  Good rebounder and defender but just lost a year of develop offensively.

Do we see a big second year jump from diop? Skill certainly seems to be there, needs to hit the weight room hard and put on a good 15 pounds

Tony Perkins entered the portal. Big loss for Iowa.

I don't know about that.  He really struggled toward the end of the season.  May have been nudged.

How many of our entrants are leaving on their own, or are they being nudged?  I am guessing all, or nearly all of them have been nudged.

Rice may be the only one who isn't nudged, but he saw the writing on the wall with playing time. Didn't like where he was going to be at and that's why he left.

Zeke Mayo entered the portal. He's a damn good guard. I'd expect Kansas to get involved. He's from Lawrence.

He was the most impressive dude in the Omaha bracket. I saw his father in the hallway, and gave them all major props for the baller his son was!!! Holy moly!!!

Reminds me of CJ McCollum. Really like his game.

Kansas, Kansas St, and Creighton are the ones to watch here

So far as I know, the NCAA hasn't ruled on Uhlis's eligibility and I don't think we can reliably depend on his availability. We need to look for other options as an insurance policy.

updated penalty guidelines for student-athletes who'd been caught gambling on college sports.

"Effective immediately, reinstatement guidelines for student-athletes who wager on teams at their school — excluding their own team — will start at requiring one season of ineligibility and a loss of one year of eligibility," read a decision from the Division I Council Coordination Committee.
