About the officiating. I am going to stand up for the officials in this game. Earlier I had said "Some of the comments made about officiating here ... well that's just not what i think i saw. If replay is available, i will re-watch the game over the weekend looking for three incidents: 1) on Hake's double dribble did an opponent touch the ball between dribbles; 2) was Potts "pulled down from behind" before SHE was assessed a foul; 3) was there distance between Potts and the shooter when Potts was called for the foul? " Well, i did rewatch the second half repeatedly replaying the three incidents mentioned above. My observations: 1) Double dribble was called on Hake. The broadcasters commented that DD should not have been called because the ball had been DEFLECTED by an opponent between dribbles. The ball may have been touched by an opponent but it was def not deflected. The rule states: "A player shall not dribble for a second time after his first dribble has ended unless between the two dribbles he has lost control of a live ball on the playing court". Hake did not lose control. The call was correct. 2) I do not believe that Potts was "pulled down from behind". The video does not support this. Yes she and a Lamar player behind her went up together and both fell backwards, but it does not appear that the opponent intentionally caused Potts to fall - as in "pulling her down". Although it is impossible to determine from the video, it's possible the foul was committed by Potts before the fall. 3) There was def not a distance of 3 or 4 feet between Potts and the shooter. There was minimal contact and yes Potts was backing away but again it's not possible to rule out that the foul occurred before she started backing away. In all three of these situations, the officials had the better view of the action than did the broadcast staff. There are other incidents in which the broadcast staff's comments about officiating were not consistent with what i saw on replay. In addition to commenting on specific calls, there were two incidents in which the broadcast staff laughed derisively at the officials - as tho in ridicule. IMO, this is not appropriate and I believe the official was correct to stop the action and speak to the broadcast staff. Often times on here comments are made such as "from what i heard the officiating seemed to be really bad". That conclusion assumes that the broadcast staff has a better understanding of the rules and a better view of the action than do the referees. I think this is seldom the case. Yes, Lamar played rough and aggressive. But this is what the game has become.3 points

My favorite part of Wednesday was that FH was locked in and pissed about stuff. He lit into the guys once, sat KT for quite a while, and knew he had to be on refs all game. All that and he kept the team together. 10/10 coach.3 points -
Gutty Performance by the Husker Ladies!!! Despite never holding the lead to lose by only Seven points. Down by 21 points early in the 3rd Qtr, the Husker Ladies fight back to cut TCU's lead to 5 points during the quarter. Natalie Potts gets upbraided by TCU's Senior Prima Donna, Sedona Prince for something she didn't like. Prince gets warned by the officials, but no action taken. Somehow it seems like players like Sedona Prince (like Angel Reese, etc.) and teams like TCU (like LSU, etc.) Deserve each other. Here's your final Stats: GO BIG RED2 points

This TCU group is going to be a tough test. Sedona Prince is a 6’7” center that will give Markowski a stern test. They have a guard that transferred in from Arizona that has been scoring. Jaz needs to be at her best.2 points

I don’t watch CU much, I despise them with everything I have and take great pleasure when they lose. I’ve been in an office with 70% Jay alums and trust me fellas, I want this game more than any other game and I know it’s all due to personal reasons. Donuts for the entire office are on the line. But the trash talking from the sweaters is unbearable at times. I’m always reminded they’ve won in the tournament we can’t ever seem to make. IMHO, Baylor is having to shoulder the load offensively because Kaluma and Nembhard were athletic enough to drive to the rim and put pressure on the defense. Ashworth isn’t the same. If the outside shots aren’t falling they quickly show themselves as a one dimensional team.2 points -
Lack of rebounding in 1st half was main reason it was close. Dominated rebounding during run to blow things open and then Duqe made run by getting to the glass. Probably putting jinx on team but with so many guys in rotation that can score can't think there will be many nights when all of them have off night shooting. Also helps when shooting that good at free throw line. Would be interesting to know how many hit nothing but bottom of the net. Seems like team is very cohesive and gets along. When Gary left the game Allick stood up and waved his arms to get crowd to stand and acknowledge his performance.2 points

Huskers have a good third Quarter, Cuts TCU's lead (once as high as 21 Points) to as low as an 8 point lead. Getting a little chippy: TCU's Sr. Prima Donna, Sedona Prince insults Natalie Potts. Prince gets admonished by the refs, but no penalty. TCU's lead cut from 21 Pts to 8 points at the end of the Q3; TCU 64-56 Stats at the end of three quarters of play:1 point

Still could have been considered a likely 'in' most years. That season the committee relied heavily on "metrics" because of course they did. And having Ras as chair of the committee also probably doesn't help matters. Nebraska had no way to make up enough ground since the schedule was more front-loaded with the better B1G teams and other usual good ones like Wisc. weren't as good as expected. Still thought NU could have done damage in the Dance, so maybe this year NU will dominate and leave no doubt. Control what they can control, win and win big. I think Hoiberg & Co. have the makings of a very good tourney team, only time will tell the tale of how good. GBR1 point -

People will inevitably keep comparing this year to the 2017-18 season in this regard. But it’s just two pretty different situations. That team didn’t earn a tourney bid. We weren’t on the edge of our seat on selection sunday. Through six games that season, torvik had us at #106. Through six games this year, we’re sitting at #32 and we haven’t played creighton or k-state yet. That team lost 4 non-con games and had 4 single digit wins against low-major non-con teams. That’s a poor resume going into conference play. We took care of business in conference and beat the teams we should’ve beat, but that was a hell of a long ways to climb from the early season metrics. Only ended up with one statement win all year, against Michigan, and finished the regular season #42. So in a down year for the B1G, we still climbed 64 spots from late November to early March. That projected record of 21-10 (11-9) would put Nebraska in the tournament this year.1 point -

I agree with you for sure. If we take care of what we can take care of and avoid any bad slip ups in the non-con the Creighton game is almost irrelevant to what our goals for the season are. Sure, if we can manage to pull off the upset against them it might change the calculus for us a little bit, but other than that there is almost nothing to lose for us against them; other than maybe a little pride and bragging rights for a year.1 point -

I think our offense works well because of what KT did last year, he’s now the primary focus of the opposing team so it’s opened up the court for the others. I still think he’s our best overall scoring threat when he’s in the game. Last night showed me he can dish it back to a physical team that was doing everything they could to knock off his spots.1 point -

I loved watching this game last night. One thing I am very curious about going forward is how Fred is going to handle Keisei in these games with physical teams. I thought Keisei played well, I love his moxie (even if over the top every once in awhile). But it't not often you get a great win like that and your leading scorer was -3. That says a lot for the rest of our dudes and how they played. I feel like we definitely guard better when 30 is out and most of our winning run came with him on the bench. Please don't take this as a knock on 30, love him to death.1 point -

It is early in her career, but Natalie’s play reminds me a lot of Emily Cady. At this early stage she is not as good of a rebounded as Emily was in her freshmen season but Natalie could improve in this area as the season moves along. I hope Natalie play progresses to the level that Emily played at as I think Emily was one of the Huskers all time great women’s basketball players.1 point -
