If he was here against Wiscy, i think he would have been ours.

Yeah, think you're right on that one.

BTW, I wonder who all from LSU is transferring and if we have a chance at them

I think we could have gotten anybody from Deng to LeBron to sign that night. Hell Dougie McBuckets would have quit Creighton that night and signed with us that night.

But not Gibbs, we would not ever ask Gibbs.;)

24 hours ago we're praising a kids integrity and now we are assuming he is accepting money to play ball. Truth is Baylor went to the sweet 16 this year, and are sending guys to the league about every year, throw in the fact that the entire time he has lived in the states he has lived in Texas 3 hours away from Waco.

Yes. It's easy to have the "how could you pass on Nebraska" attitude. Best facilities, great school, great season last year etc. But despite what we think and how great we think we are, other teams are still better and may have just as much, if not more to offer.

They're also are a small private religious school in a top basketball conference that play the type of zone defense perfect for his length.

Taking away the alleged funny business card, it's not difficult to imagine Deng legitimately choosing Baylor as best for him.

I love Coach Miles, but I'm starting to lose some optimism about his ability to close with recruits.

I know we'll never compete with the likes of KU for recruits.....but pretty soon we need to start beating out the likes of Baylor, LSU, and Auburn.  Not getting any visitors for "No Sit Sunday" was also a big disappointment.

I saw where 87% of "BCS" schools had signed their allotted classes in the fall signing period and a portion of the 13% left are guys like Turner that we would have no chance of landing.  This leaves a small amount of room to find recruits once the season actually starts.  Recruiting for hoops is usually 2 years out.  This fall is the class they attacked right when they got on campus.  If this year doesnt produce with the connections, tournament run, facilities, etc then I think we can really start to question.

Agreed, and it was a great way to put it. It's not pessimism, it's simply losing a little optimism. A very important distinction IMO.
