HuskerFever Posted November 23, 2024 Author Report Posted November 23, 2024 Halfway through this Nebraska/Wisconsin football game, Creighton fans finally get to experience the other side of a team who can't make anything from 3. So three road wins in a row in the 1990's and 7 straight wins. I think the quote last night was first back to back road wins at CHI. hhcmatt 1 Quote

hskr4life Posted November 24, 2024 Report Posted November 24, 2024 Rewatching the game on BTN+ because.. why not? I'm at the U4 TO in the 1st half and man Creighton has to be feeling like we felt all those years. Literally we're getting good shots, getting to the line, and making shots. They are out of sorts, airballing threes (cough cough Issac), and missing shots at the rim. Literally, this is the pain we've all felt so many times before. HuscurAdam 1 Quote

I think new and better leadership has led to success which has led to more of a tight knit group of student athletes. It’s a fun time to be a Husker fan. Quote

Lost in translation for sure and really good catch about the Chi Center @Alwaysred because I bet that's where this chryon came from. We've actually had 2 winning streaks on the road of 3 games as we had one in the 80s thanks to the NIT ------------------------------------- Handy Johnson 1 Quote

I've been thinking roughly the exact same thing. I'm not rejoicing in the fact one of their guys got hurt, but the thought had crossed my mind many times in the past that Creighton had enjoyed a lot of good fortune over the years and had avoided things like the injury bug, whereas we have Isaac Copeland blow a knee in a year where we might have otherwise made the dance. They've had games against us where they shot out of their minds. Where everything seemed to fall for them. That luck had to run out eventually. And maybe it finally has. And all at once. I'm sure their fans are probably pretty good at handling adversity, though, so they should take this all in stride. I always said that worm would eventually turn. millerhusker Posted November 24, 2024 Report Posted November 24, 2024 A completely self-inflicted injury. He began the jump shot going straight up, wasn't fading at all, then decided to try to draw a foul. Left foot landed behind the three point line, kicked his right leg way out to try to make it seem like Rollie was in his landing area and his right foot landed three feet inside the arc. Landed very awkwardly because of it. This stuff drives me nuts. I hope the era of trying to deceive officials into calling fouls rather than just playing basketball comes to an end soon. Very unfortunate for Creighton because Ashworth is so vital to their team this year. hhcmatt, cornfed24-7, Brick and 6 others 2 4 3 Quote

I’m not old enough to remember the series before the mid 90s, but Creighton has dominated the last 15-20 years and still the all time head to head is about even. It is about time we take the lead back after these last two decades. Cazzie22 1 Quote

It is about time we take the lead back after these last two decades. They were pretty terrible for a long stretch in the 1980s and early 1990s until Altman got it going. When I was growing up, NU just didn't lose to those guys, so we built a pretty big series lead. I mean it was a rivalry game (kind of), but it was also a series where you could go to the Civic 30 minutes before tipoff and buy decent seats from the box office with a 75/25 NU crowd. Altman flipped the series and basically saved their entire athletic program, or they'd still be a mid-level Mo Valley team. Pretty crazy to think how lucky they got with that hire - especially the timing with conference realignment on the horizon. It's beyond time for us to flip it again, that's for sure.
