New AD: Troy Dannen

Appears to be good hire.  Though Football is his strength I believe he will continue the emphasis to improve all UNL Athletic programs.  He did a lot at Tulane and hiring Jedd Fisch at UW softened the blow of DeBoer’s departure.  I like that he is a Midwesterner.  Let’s hope Iowa or Iowa St. jobs don’t open soon! 😉

Already added to my sig:

"Work hard, stay humble, compete and expect to win." -- echoes the virtues of Sam Foltz, except #27 added "Dream Big" which would apply to the nature of NU athletics with the South Stadium project, which a week ago felt like it'd be scrapped in a heartbeat, but maybe there's still some skin on dem teeth. We shall see... perhaps it is a full 'go' with Dr. Jeffrey Gould at the helm, and NU's readmittance with full AAU status forthcoming, as well.

To be fair, Garfield got shot after only four months on the job. It just took him two months to die.

Garfield’s assassination was tragedy for the nation. It’s my belief much of the nonsense and hate perpetrated by the Klan in the South would not have been tolerated by Garfield.

Sounds like Dr. Gold from UNMC is going to be the new NU president - depending on which insider source you believe, this is exactly who Trev wanted / didn't want to get the job. This whole thing has been beyond strange.

Good to have all of the administrative drama over so we now can focus on that 1st hoops NCAA win.

I wonder if this hire will have the added benefit of him being the bridge that would finally get UNMC to group with UNL which in turn would give us a path too return the AAU?
