The rotation of Mast, Hoiberg, Wilcher, Lawrence and Rice was not the group I thought would be leading that 2nd half stretch where Huskers took control of the game.

And nice father/son moment between Fred and Sam after Sam had turnover and hit his head on floor. Per the other 2 guys with me. After Sam got up and was going to bench he looked at dad and dad said, "Go sit down Sam." They said it wasn't mean but more a frustrated/wtf type of look on Fred's face.

Go watch that pass on the TV and watch Fred.  The pass actually went to Fred and he grabbed the ball and slammed it (dribbled hard) into the floor out of frustration.

It was a total Dad move that I and many others would do and know our dads would do as well.  I laughed when I watched that back today.

Fred was open though.

I just want to say that I was pretty happy with the officials last night.  Game went fast and thought they called a pretty good game both ways.  Sure they missed a few but it was one of the better officiated games we have had.

I agree with this. They really let the game have a nice flow to it. However, I commented to my wife with about 3.5 minutes left in the 1st half that they hadn't called many fouls (it was 3 on NU & 4 on OSU); they proceeded to call 7 fouls over the next 2 minutes and I believe both teams ended up in the bonus.

Holtmann has the look of a guy that knows he won't be the Ohio State coach for much longer.

That would be one of the dumbest moves ever if they let him go.  He has won 20 or more games every season at Ohio State except one.  He has finished in the Top 5 in the conference standings in 4 of his 6 seasons.  But I wouldn't be surprised if they parted ways if they don't have a strong finish to end this year.

Reading other message boards throughout the last month, the following fans want their coach gone…

1. Indiana

2. Ohio St

3. Purdue (only a few fans but it’s because he can’t “win the big ones” “same ole same ole”)

4. Minnesota, though his seat may have cooled a bit with their recent run.  Gotta finish strong though.

5. Michigan

Fred made comment about players not having great nights doing a good job of supporting the team on the floor ... felt like that was a comment about Keisei. This continues to be a situation to watch and monitor. I think there's a bit of dissension around these issues from time to time. Good job tonight cheering on your team Keisei.

KT does so much for this team. He had an off night. It happens. He sealed the win for us against NWU.

No doubt that comment was about KT, however I don't view it as derogatory. It was just a statement of fact because he probably knew he was going to be asked. I paid close attention to KT on the bench and he was engaged and smiling.

First time since Dec 29 that he didn't score in double figures.

It was also a great way to get him some rest before a tough road game at Maryland.

I view this more as HCFH using an NBA model of publicly challenging players.

We all know that KT is a key piece for this team and how successful where going to be.

I don't think there is any situation to monitor, and don't believe we should looking for problems where none exist.

As soon as I got through all the Dutch oven memes on Ohio State's final score post on X, almost every post was some form of "fire Holtmann"

I mean, this same fan base is ready to fire the FB coach for losing to Michigan twice, so yeah, I believe it. Everybody gets tired of where they are at, except Iowa. They are perfectly happy with average.

Honestly... I didn't see a lot of fire Frans on that board.

I never said he wasn't a key and that he shouldn't play or the like. I said I think it's a situation to watch and monitor. Basically we could not play him due to his early defense. And you will see I said good job to Keisei for staying engaged on the bench.

Barring a turn around, I think Howard is out this year.  The only thing that might save him without the turn around is them looking for a football coach.

They've got their football coach 100% gonna be Sherron.  So that will free them up to replace Howard even though I think he's doing a great job and they should keep him around forever.

I've seen some grumbling about him not getting over the hump (no BIG title or deep NCAA run), but he's really done a good job, better than most of us would like to admit. He'd have 5 straight tourney bids if not for Covid, plus a BIG tourney title and  great players in Garza and the Murray twins. He has a better talent base than we do, but nothing like Michigan, Illinois, Ohio or Indiana.

Main downside is his personality, but his players seem to like him.

I guess I don't know what situation should be watched and monitored? Are you talking about his defense?

That there is a bit of disconnect between Keisei and a few other members on the team.
