This one mystifies me. We don’t need a sit-out big. We need an immediately-eligible, experienced big, like a senior transfer who doesn’t take away a spot from a 2020 recruit and who can hold down the fort while our two freshmen get acclimated. But, y’know, what do I know?

That was my thought also. I hope they push for him to become immediately eligible. He would make me feel much better about the front court situation if he can play

Add in the commitment of Samari Curtis and both Yvan Ouedraogo/Kevin Cross and color me confused. But in Hoiberg we trust!

Anyone think that the media was left in the dark on these last couple visits after the washut blunder? Neither Samari Curtis nor Walker were reported to have visited. Just a theory

Good theory, but then again, I struggle thinking that a new staff would take that approach.  Closing out members of the press would create a deadly game of roulette.

That was probably part of it.

Walker most likely drove in.

Curtis was some ninja level stuff.

Some of it probably depended on Roby and you have to assume that he has informed them he will not be coming back.  I'd bet his individual workouts went really well with a team.

Read some articles from Barnes and he loved the kids potential. Seemed he had trouble getting him to consistently fill his role which lead to the low PT. Hopefully Fred and team can help him reach his potential as he looks the part physically. Redshirt year should help I would hope

FWIW Barnes was surprised he was transferring so this wasn't some deal where they Tennessee wanted him to leave so they could pull in someone else.

Also, @Searching 4 Chester Surles will be pleased to note the profile picture he has up now on twitter:  https://twitter.com/derric__k

Yeah, you can totally see the theme in the @HuskerHoops LOI announcements. Both Samari and Derrick are on the flex train in their official signing tweets.

Hopefully it means the staff is gassing them up about being a toughass team in the B10.

???

I think people forget about Walker. If Yvan really starts at center hes gonna have to earn it

Agreed. People do the same with Stevenson which I don't get. I would imagine if Yvan does start, he will probably end up splitting time with Walker at the 5 when we need more of a true post. We should have lots of options at several positions.

I'm going to continue my countdown to Derrick Walker here in this thread to prevent @Norm Peterson from having a cardiac event.  With that said, six days remain until he can finally join the team.  I am anxious to see what he can do for us.

I thank you. My heart thanks you. Now, onto the next trivial thing to stress about.
