  4. TP going pro early is a major recruiting pitch for Miles if he makes the league. I think we're forgetting how much the loss of Gallegos hurt us. We're going to have designated shooters next year. We didn't have a single one this year. Any team that packed it in and played zone was either going to beat us or play us close. Next year, good luck rolling out a 2-3 versus players like Watson, Evelyn, White, McVeigh, and Jacobson with an angry finisher like Morrow roaming the baseline. This sort of shooting ability will allow us to adjust offensively, which we really couldn't do at all this year. Additionally, if we can spread out man defenses, Shavon is going to get to the rack constantly. I get the concern, but it doesn't even come close to the optimism of having a complete team. Yeah, we're short a big (right now), but Morrow is a great looking PF and Jacobson is a big body who can stretch the floor. I can't stress this enough: don't sleep on Hammond. I think the dude can really play if he's 15lbs heavier, though he's certainly our least proven commodity.

  7. Watched some film of this dude. He's not a run-fast-jump-high athlete, but he has extremely high coordination and ball skills for someone his size. He likes playing in the post, and is an excellent passer. Super high offensive and defensive IQ, good hands, very physical on both ends. He would be as valuable as any newcomer we bring in next year. I really hope we land him. Similar build and athleticism as Leslee, but a much more polished player, fundamentally. Very good ball handler for his size as well. He brought the ball up against pressure for Brown a lot.

Starting right here and now, we're all going to have to put our shoulders to the wheel, our noses to the grindstone. We've got to hunker down and pull together, all for one and one for all. 14. We need a big that can: - Set good picks - Rebound and box out - Provides a reasonable presence in the middle - Has reasonable offensive moves and results - Has reasonable to good hands - Is smart and has good character - Is a good teammate...places team first - Is coachable. - Is healthy and can eat minutes. This kid may not be a superstar, but he certainly can and should be a good complimentary player. So...I am begging you Rafael, come to dear ol UNL...please.

  16. I think he would flurish with the Spurs. But then I don't watch much NBA so maybe he would be better suited for another team. All I know is when I do watch, some of these teams have a bunch of guys who don't seem to be very good.

  17. Petteway may be better suited to the NBA game, provided he's around the right guys as the team atmosphere could play a large role in finding his eventual niche on a team. Hope it works out for TP5, he's got game for the big-time; interested to find out how it translates in the upcoming draft process.

  18. His floor seems like long career overseas. I don't know if it's this year but he has a real shot at carving out a role in the NBA.

  19. I think he can be a JR Smith type in the NBA, put him on bad teams, lots of his bad habits come out, and are focused upon, put him on a good team like JR Smith is now on the Cavs, and he is a great glue player, that performs is sets of skills well, and can hide his weakness, all depends, i think he'd do well on a team like the Cavs, Grizzlies, Spurs, Heat, a few others that im drawing a blank on that need wing scoring off the bench.

  20. lol..three posts...out of like 50. Someone brought up Creighton. So i asked about the guy from KSU. I kind of thought maybe the recruiter that 49er was talking about was part of the reason he went from KSU to Creighton. I just wondered if the guy was any good. Now we are back on track to talk about the Huskers. So we don't want the "super recruiter" from there.

  28. I keep hearing excuses for you that we need a new coach. Two things: 1) if you keep cutting the tree branches, they're never going to have a chance to grow. Coaching changes is not always the answer, especially if you're looking in the long term. 2) Miles is our coach. If you don't support that, then fine. But you're just going to have to live with the fact that people who have much more industry experience and make much more money in that line of business than any of us are the ones making those decisions; I know you have better things to do than constantly barraging the topic of a coaching change on a message board just to get a reaction out of people. Enjoy the outdoors, go for a walk, go play a round of 18. Everyone else on here is more than willing to open up the topic if Eichorst (or future AD) approaches that topic.

  30. Tim Miles puts his pants on one leg at a time and his teams show up to play. He always gives 110% and never gives up until the fat lady sings. He still has a rough road ahead but in the end it is what it is.

    I hate to say it

Fair enough on all accords, Norm. And Lanigan, I hope you're right about Tai. He certainly improved his effort and understanding of defense this year and thus, became a (at times) very GOOD defensive player. Improved mightily. IF he can do 1/2 of that offensively, then maybe he can become more than a role player. But at the moment, a turnover prone "2" who can't shoot doesn't inspire me. Again, not bashing the kid, I like him and am glad he stayed. He has made big strides defensively. But we need him to do the same offensively. Fair or unfair, with the current situation and hand dealt, he NEEDS to take that next step next year. And let's hope he can.

  38. Happy 4/20 day to Marcus. If McDermott can keep him off the hippy lettuce and get his head screwed on right he will be a good addition for Creighton. If they can't keep him happy things will go south quickly like they did at KSU.

    I hate to say it

766 players from 303 schools transferred last year which doesn't include any of the guys leaving early for the pros. Having someone not transfer/leave our program would put us in the minority. After the 2013-14 season seven players and Scott Spinelli left Maryland. They ended up ok. Thus, when I look at our turnover I don't see I see a problem so much as I see the norm for college basketball. The trick, like Maryland illustrated, is that at the end of the day you want to end at a net positive. If TS, WP, and TP turn into a PG, actual big man, and Div 1 transfer doesn't that seem like it could be a net positive?

  44. There are reasons to believe him and HC Bruce Weber did not get along. At all. It's fine to compare the baggage of Foster and Biggs...but in reality Foster had zero problems in high school and zero problems his freshman year. It's not like we're signing Malek Harris. Last year, in terms of his disciplinary issues, was an aberration. And is it even a discussion concerning who is more talented between Biggs and Foster? Hate to bring it up but its a lot more acceptable to take a player like Marcus with some past issues if he's got a lot of talent. Any CU fan who claims all the kids we sign are angels is full of sh**. All of these players are kids who have some growing up to do, they do stupid things on occasion. As long as CU is trying to remain relevant in the world of men's CBB, the coaches will take chances on players. Is there some risk with Marcus, sure, but I think the potential reward is unbelievably worth it. If there's one thing I know about CU basketball, its that locker room problems are the last things us fans have to worry about (last time that was an issue was with Stinnet in 2010). Even losing all those games in a streak last year, there was no talk of hostility or finger pointing. The coaches do an excellent job emphasizing the concept of the team, instilling that camaraderie early on in the players' careers at CU. edit: You cannot blame the fanbase for our excitement surrounding Marcus. We were so close to landing him out of high school, and he is the skilled, big, athletic guard we have coveted for so long now. I think you'd have to go back into the pre-modern era of college hoops to find a player as physically talented as Marcus who played for CU I'd say Biggs is pretty damn talented. And to say Foster is a big guard is a tad bit of a stretch. 6'2" 200 lbs is not "Big".

    Harriman...

Something is wrong. Everyone was jacked when Miles got hired. Jumpimg up and down when Chin was coming with Miles from CSU . Super recruiter. Got here and he was put in charge of basketball operations and was restricted to recruiting on campus. Excuse -makers tried to wash it off as Miles brillance because he would have contact with all recruits when they made it to campus. Then he leaves for Bradley and the excuse -makers say its OK, he wants to get back home {he is no longer on the Bradley staff.} Now it's a coach a year leaving. And the excuses keep rolling in. {I'll buy Smith heading for So Dak.} Things are'nt adding up if you are a non-excuse-maker. Love to see Miles take a hike. Unlikely to happen. Cant fire him because he hasnt been here long enough. Even if he has a repeat of last season. Maybe Chin will come back. Im desperate.
