The only point of distinction I'd make is whatever time measurement you use it's preceded by "HATE Creighton".

Examples -

HATE Creighton minute.

HATE Creighton decade.

HATE Creighton millennium.

Etc.

I think it should be more along the lines of, "HATE Creighton a little more than usual week." Or maybe something a little more succinct. 😀

Or the full Mitch Hedberg with used to hate Creighton, still do bit.

There's a Burno joke in there somewhere...

Lol I certainly would not. Just like I don't wear a Creighton shirt and a Nebraska hat at the same time. Was mainly just saying they both have my support. I know that makes some upset, especially when it comes to football, but it is what it is. Always found it fascinating that a team would not welcome that support. Plenty of Jays fans are Iowa football fans. I would have assumed that's worse, but I guess I'm wrong there.

Why would being a fan of both Creighton and Iowa be worse?  Is there some deep-seeded animosity between the Hawkeyes and Jays that I'm unaware of?

No one is saying you can't cheer for multiple universities.  But you probably crossed the line if those two schools play each other annually in multiple sports, and you have 100% sold your soul if those two teams are rivals.

Cheer for Iowa, or UCLA, or Sister Mary's School for the Blind.  None of those are a conflict with your Creighton affiliation.  But don't be surprised when people get annoyed with you for supporting both Nebraska and Creighton.

Personally I do not hate Creighton. I live in Omaha and I don't know any Jays fans that are obnoxious when they win. I am for Creighton every time they play except when they play the Huskers. I am a Husker fan first and foremost. I admit that I did hate Grant Gibbs.

Ok so bring the hate. I know you will....

I’ve been getting incessant texts from my Jaysker coworkers all day today. One sent a short video clip of Coach Hoiberg today calling out Jayskers and said “maybe if nebraska wasn’t so terrible at basketball there wouldn’t be Jayskers” Which means they only want to cheer on the bandwagon. I’ve been through seven levels of 2000-2024 nebrasketball hell folks. I’ve driven from Omaha to Lincoln hundreds of times and driven home dejected by crapping games away. I’ve seen 6500 at the Bob for years and watched us as we toiled under Collier and Doc - when Tim gave us a glimpse of what could be but couldn’t sustain. Never once did I say “it’d be easier for me to just cheer for Creighton because they win” but apparently some fans do…

I have family members who do the same. But I never understood, and will never understand, the Creighton fans who'll root against Nebrasketball, then put on their Husker shirts for the football/volleyball/baseball games. And for that reason I've always hated everything about Creighton, and always will.

I don't think I would include baseball in your comments. There's a pretty heated rivalry between the two programs. In fact the last NU game I've been able to attend at Haymarket Park was between NU and CU, and it ended in fisticuffs. 🥊

I live out state and have never hated Creighton.  I enjoyed their success from the time of Red McManus and Paul Silas through Eddy Sutton , Tom Apke, Tony Barone, Dana Altman to the present.  But I always am a Husker first.  We need a win Friday afternoon and evening.  To me, anything that brings attention to basketball in Nebraska is a good thing.  I clearly understand the dismay of those of you who deal with Jayskers daily.

Yeah, one of my buddies who is all invested in the Omaha thing--UNL alum, huge Jay fan, hates Husker basketball--was sitting in the fancy seats at volleyball last week wearing red and all fired up....🤮

Well I’d say it’s natural to want to follow a winner. So I can see why some Omahan’s take the Jaysker path. But I truly don’t believe too many outside of Omaha cheer for the jays unless it’s a one off, like GI cheering because of Traudt or Aurora because of Baylor S…

I’ve never understood the “brotherly love” between Husker fans and CU fans who say “I cheer for the other team outside of the once a year meeting” blah blah blah.

CU fans can kick rocks and I wish they’d lose every single game they play. It’s a rivalry. We don’t have to wish them well outside of our game.

Rival or not, it is in our best interest in regards to KenPom, RPI, etc., if CU does well outside of our annual game with them. I'm not a fan of CU, Nebraska is and has always been my team, but I am envious of their success.

You're not wrong. It is in our best interests. I'd still rather they lose lol. Part of my spite might be their success over the years too.

Yeah, you're probably right in a general sense. The vast majority of the state is the RED KINGDOM.

I really don’t hate Creighton. A significant portion of their fan base does annoy me though. My neighbors are perfect examples. Big NU football fans who are also big time Creighton fans. Thats cool, but they will always trash NU hoops. They don’t know anything about basketball but think they do. Love hopping in their luxury car and driving downtown every home game. They always try to talk to me about basketball. Good people, but with their basketball vapidity, I just don’t have the energy

Creighton cares about basketball and it’s their bread and butter. They’ve had a good AD who has been able to build the model through Altman and Mac. Hope Nebraska shows up and plays hard Friday.

I have a lot more respect for the Creighton fans who hate all the Husker teams than I do for the Creighton fans who wear Husker football shirts on Saturdays.
