Mongolian Mike is such an athletic versatile player he would be a unicorn like addition to Pitt, would start immediately and has NBA potential, seems like Nebraska is recruiting him very hard and he is their number 1 target

So Pitt and Indiana are out of the running now.  Our odds have increased and I like our chances much better now as the only remaining Power 6 team.  Granted, Memphis and the AAC are still a very solid option for him.

Good news. Better news is if we land him. But at least you can take Pitt and Indiana out of the equation. Of those three remaining schools, we probably have the best opportunity for what he needs: an open spot and high level competition to prove himself against.

Memphis already has a 2023 4-star PG signed, another PG commit through the portal, a couple of SG commits and SF commits. To add to what they brought back.

SF plays in a weak conference (WCC) and fills their non-con schedule with mid-majors. So, if the objective is to show what you can do against a higher level of competition than what he'd see at Dayton, SF doesn't seem to fit the bill.

IMHO, that makes us his best option. Fingers very crossed.

Memphis landed David Jones from St Johns.

They have one scholarship available but playing time is going to be scarce there.

It's probable that playing time in San Fran is easier to come by than Lincoln.  I have to think our success with Dalano Banton could be the deciding factor for us.

penny and co’s nil operation might be tough to beat but we’ll see how much they really want him

This is likely unreliable and useless.  My point I was trying to establish is that less than 30K people of Mongolian decent lives in the USA.  However, our campus and team seems diverse.  So maybe that creates a recruiting advantage.

Which state has the most Mongolians?

Other communities formed by recent Mongolian immigrants include ones in Chicago, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. The largest Mongolian-American community in the United States is located in Los Angeles, California.

A 13th century Mongolian would have looked at Nebraska and thought, lots of open range grassland for the horses, plenty of rivers, perfect for fighting wars with light cavalry, and warmer than Mongolia; he would have thought this place was heaven.

We don’t have plenty of PG’s.  I wouldn’t be opposed to kicking the tires on this one.  If the coaches think he could fit it to our team oriented approach in offense and culturally in the locker room, I say go for it.  37% three point shooter with a 2.5:1 assist to turnover ratio…looks good to me.

If it doesn’t work out he’s a one-year player.

He's 6'7. He'd be like Griesel but a better shooter. Hell yeah I'd say we kick the tires.

Kaluma to Kansas State

Interesting.  I have heard he wants to be the man and the Wildcats have some openings.  I thought he was terrible last year, especially the first round hype he had after the KU NCAA  tourney game.  Last year when I watched he was always forcing the action and either turned the ball over or taking wild shots.

May be addition by subtraction for Creighton.  I would not want him on our team.  I prefer Juwan Gary over him personally.
