FredsSlacks Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 -BC -at Mich st -Minn. -at creighton -kansas I'd be happy to win 2. 3 or more would be huge. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 My expectation is play hard, be aggressive, shoot well, defend well and rebound. Each game we must be competitive. BC is likely a must. The remaining games will play themselves out. We have not been competitive against Creighton. That must change this year. HolyBobpilgrimage 1 Quote
unl Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 Win Wednesday. Must. Then 0-4 isn't the worst. 1-3 isn't good either but satisfying to most fans. 2-2 is the difference between not too excited, to pretty pumped. 3-1 and look out. HolyBobpilgrimage 1 Quote
Cazzie22 Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 Don’t know much about BC but the other 4 do not look promising. Quote
FredsSlacks Posted November 27, 2017 Author Report Posted November 27, 2017 if you didn't hear alabama almost beat minnesota with 3 players. not a joke. Quote
Chuck Taylor Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 Beat BC and win 1 of the next 4. That would show we're continuing to improve. Quote
rwhiston Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 2-3 would be pretty great. Protect the vault is going to be so important this year. 3-2 would be the best early Christmas present. Especially if it was against Counciltucky St. HolyBobpilgrimage 1 Quote
Handy Johnson Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 (edited) If you happened to watch Michigan St. play Carolina tonight you know what we're in for up there. That frontline is the opposite of Jordy & Duby. Fast, smooth, finishers. If we can get BC, Goldy, and the fish eaters, I'll be thrilled! hskr4life Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 2-3 in this stretch is what we need. 3-5 wins and we are looking pretty heading into January. 1 win means we did what was expected of us and what a lower level Big 10 team would do. HolyBobpilgrimage 1 Quote
OmahaHusker Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 My honest expectation is we beat BC and lose the next 4. Winning one of those 4 would be gravy but I don't see it happening Quote
khoock Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 Gotta beat BC and win one of those four big games and im very satisfied. Quote
Cowboy Kermit Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 BC is a must win. Then 1 of those next 4 would be fantastic. We gotta compete. No curb stompings, please Quote
jimmykc Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 Agree with pretty much everybody here. Roby's ankle really hurt though. Quote
tcp Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 as everyone else says, we *need* to win 2. I expect 1-4, but I wouldn't be shocked at either 2 wins or a goose egg, either. Miles needs 2 wins outta this. Somehow. Quote
Fullbacksympathy Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 Go 2-3 at home. It's not unreasonable. It should be expected. We've put together 3.5/4 good halves of basketball of late. Gotta play defense and move the ball offensively. Red Don 1 Quote

I'm hoping we go 1-4 with our only win coming Wednesday night but wouldn't be shocked if we go 0-5 during this stretch. The only other game I think we could maybe stay close with is Minnesota but if Roby is still out or not 100%, don't think we can hang with them either. I can see both Creighton and KU taking us to the woodshed Quote

I think MSU and CU are going to beat us handily. We aren't a road team yet. I really, really, like this team's potential to be a bear at home. Red Don and HolyBobpilgrimage 2 Quote

49r Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 FWIW, here's what Pomeroy has to say about things: Wed Nov 29 91 Boston College W, 74-72 70 58% Home Sun Dec 3 6 Michigan St. L, 79-62 69 6% Away × Tue Dec 5 23 Minnesota L, 79-72 72 27% Home × Sat Dec 9 33 Creighton L, 83-71 73 14% Away Sat Dec 16 1 Kansas L, 80-68 71 13% Home I'd say with Roby sidelined, we should probably be happy if we can manage 1-4 in the next 5. Quote
uneblinstu Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 Well, we don't know yet if Roby will be sidelined, do we? I don't think I'll ever be "happy" going 1-4 in a five game stretch. If they continue to improve defensively and the improved play of Gill and Copeland carries over, we'll have a punchers chance in a couple of those, especially at home. I agree with @LK1 that I think we'll be a real tough out at PBA. Need more from Jordy, too. Sports can be weird sometimes, especially college basketball. No reason we can't knock off a couple of "giants" the next couple weeks. Quote
NUtball Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 When guessing records prior to the start of the season, I penciled in a 1-4 record with a win over BC. I've seen nothing in the first few games to change my thoughts, especially with Roby out for a bit and at least not at 100% when he comes back. If they can figure out how to shoot well against a good team, they might pick off one of the other games, but I wouldn't bet on it. Quote
