  3. Nebraska has a lot more problems than the refs. Mainly turnovers, not getting good shots, and playing soft d.

  6. As someone said in the game thread, we likely wouldn’t have beaten Purdue regardless with the way they shot the ball. However, the entire program should be embarrassed by the lack of effort on both ends of the floor.

  7. I'm not sure any team in the country could've won that game today with as well as PU played and as motivated as they were. That said, a veteran team has to have more pride than that. Hope we show it Thursday vs RU.

  17. We couldn't shoot, couldn't defend, couldn't take care of the ball, couldn't force turnovers, couldn't rebound. The one thing we did is make free throws. This was not Iowa beating us twice. This was the fact that we weren't ready to deal with Purdue's pressure. We should have been.

  18. We better dig deep. This league is unforgiving and we’ll quickly play ourselves out of dancing.

  19. We’ve gotten our shit handed to us by two of the conferences power houses. Outside of that we’ve lost an overtime game against a good not great team at home and a two point loss to a team that looks better every week at a neutral site. I’d say we’re doing okay. Nobody would have beaten Purdue today with the shots that are falling for them. Any defense will look bad when an offense can go 4/4 on 15 foot contested push shots.

  30. Nebraska Cornhuskers (12-3) at Purdue (12-4) Date: Sunday Jan. 12th, 2025 Time: 11:00 am CST Arena: Mackey Arena Broadcast: BTN Purdue Info Head Coach: Matt Painter (20th season) Location: West Lafayette, IN Conference: B1G Nickname: Boilermakers Mascot: Boilermaker Special, Purdue Pete Line: Purdue by 8.5 Typical Rotation Depth: 9 KenPom rank: 16 Nota bene: Nebraska has never won at Mackey arena. The one road win Nebraska has over Purdue was in 1956 when Jerry Bush's Nebraska team won 65-62 7'4" freshman center Daniel Jacobsen is out for the season. With 7'2" sophomore center Will Berg barely playing, this is Purdue's smallest team in over a decade Purdue relies on its big 3 of Braden Smith, Trey Kaufman-Renn, and Fletcher Loyer for scoring. No other active Boilermaker is scoring more than 6 points per game. Purdue's non-con schedule rank is 14th in KenPom Elkhorn North product Jack Lusk is a walk-on transfer for the Boilermakers after starting his college career at D-III Millikin University Player to watch: Braden Smith The Preseason B1G POTY has been living up to they hype, leading the B1G in assists while ranking 2nd in steals and minutes played. Smith is currently shooting 42.2% from 3. Player to watch: Trey Kaufman-Renn Purdue's leading scorer and rebounder is a smaller starting center than Purdue traditionally plays but has been dominant offensively, scoring in double digits in every game played this season. TKR is a threat to get to the FT line where he shoots just 57.4%. Player to watch: Fletcher Loyer Loyer is still making 3s for Purdue, hitting on 45.5% of them this season. Loyer actually has more takes from 2 this season and is a 3 level scorer. Purdue still works their inside-out offense with Boliermaker post players kicking out to perimeter shooters as needed. The Huskers will need plenty of juice to scramble in this game and one has to question how much they'll have in what could be a sleepy Sunday crowd. One way that Nebraska can keep up with Purdue is on the offensive boards. Between Purdue's relative lack of size and methodical pace, opportunities for second chance points should be available. It seems that that a path to victory against Purdue is to make the role players beat you and it seems inevitable that the Huskers will throw double teams against Trey Kaufman-Renn all day long. Trying to take away both Smith and Loyer seems problematic given Purdue's patience. Mackey Arena has been a house of horrors for the Huskers since joining the conference. The closest Nebraska has been to beating Purdue there was back in 2014 when the Boilers finished under .500. However, this is arguably the best conference team Nebraska has brought to Purdue. Is it enough? Prediction: Purdue 84 - Nebraska 68 View full article

  33. According to the stats I just saw, no technical is shown, so no, it doesn't make make since Prince shot the free throws. It looked like they called the technical, because Prince did the shooting. The refs sucked....shows they were in lala land the whole game.

    Allison

Allison will go through a myriad of emotions and then have conversations with many people (doctors, specialists, family, friends, teammates, psychologists, and so forth). She will make decisions, question those decisions and change her decision; perhaps multiple times. Personally, I think she will fight to come back unless the injury is so bad, it simply cannot happen. But ultimately it will be Allison who makes the final decision. I will NEVER leverage hindsight with a decision that was made about recovery. Yet I do wonder why a decision to go without a sleeve or brace on one or both of her knees was made. Perhaps neither would help. I don't know, it simply is heart breaking.

  39. How fast things have changed. After the UCLA game, we all were talking about being worthy of being ranked, making sure we didn’t let Loesner go anywhere because he was our defensive mastermind. A few guys need to take a long look in the mirror. Ok, a lot of guys. I get it, it sucks to be blown out but have some pride. We showed no fight. Purdue made Nebraska look like what we did to Southern.

  45. F'ing ridiculous. We are playing like wimps. I thought we would be a physical team. Man, the refs are letting body to body contact and instead, we are playing five feet off of them. The team is simply not ready to play. No heart right now.

  48. When Amy coaches her last game at Nebraska, I think that will rank as her worst loss. I remember how the game started. Rutgers was so bad that when we scored right at the start, their inbounder grabbed the ball under the basket and their other four players ran down the court. They got a five second count on an uncontested inbound under their own basket. We had a chance to bail ourselves out at the end last year too. Amy designed the perfect final play. They inbounded to Alexis with an uncontested shot two feet from the basket and she missed. Losses just don’t get any worse than that.
