  1. Clark often behaves like an arrogant jack-ass. Reese absolutely behaved like a jack-ass. Where are the parents, where are the coaches? Somebody has to recognize that this behavior is just classless and wrong. Justifying one with the other is what is bringing us down as a society. 3 D-1 kids in my family and none would ever behave like that because they were taught not to. Being great should not be an excuse for being an asshole.

  2. Let's see now, UConn beat Creighton by 9 this season and we beat them by 10 so that means the Championship game would have been a 1 point victory for Nebraska had we been invited. What a game!

Updated Boyd's World's RPI after the weekend Nebraska - #104 Vandy - #8 - W Illinois - #47 - WWL Ole Miss - #49 - L Michigan - #59 - 3 away Maryland - #61 - 3 away Abilene Christian - #69 - L Iowa - #73 - 3 away bluebirds - #84 - L 1 home, 1 away Hawaii - #94 - W San Diego - #111 - LLLT Kansas St - #119 - 1 away Nicholls - #139 - WWL South Alabama - #153 - WWW Penn St - #157 - 3 home Illinois St - #184 - WW North Dakota St - #227 - W, - 1 home Omaha - #234 - L - 1 home, 1 away TAM-Corpus Christi - #217 - W Minnesota - #230 - 3 home Purdue - #261 - 3 away Northwestern - #277 - 3 home Northern Colorado - #290 - WW South Dakota St - #291 - 1 home Other B1G teams: Indiana - #22 Rutgers - #35 Michigan State - #62 Ohio State - #114 ------ 3-2 vs Top 50 RPI 4-4 vs Top 100 26 games scheduled vs sub-150 RPI (9-1 so far) Our RPI bumped about 10 spots thanks to some jumps from opponents - South Alabama, Hawaii, and Nicholls all jumped quite a bit. Would be a big help if USA can keep it going in the right direction. Iowa & the bluebirds took huge nose dives, though. Illinois is going in the wrong direction, too. With Michigan's jump the past few weeks, this weekend becomes even bigger for us. Don't have a lot of chances for RPI helping wins the rest of the year, so this weekend is a big one. Plus it's on the road, so we get an RPI bonus if we can win the series. Couple this weekend with road series at Maryland & Iowa and these are some big chances for us to push that RPI upward. Gotta win. Not sure I've seen a team plummet in the rankings over a 2+ week span midway thru the season quite like Ohio State. Dropped nearly 80 spots in that time. By the way, Vandy is #8 in RPI ... but that's only the 5th best RPI in the SEC. Yikes. 9 SEC teams in the Top 25 RPI. The last 2 national champs are 12th and 13th in the SEC in RPI right now ... and they're still Top 52 overall. We need to schedule at least one SEC series at neutral sites or on the road each year and get some of that RPI boost.

  6. If Nebraska could land Hugley and Sallis, that's very, very encouraging for next year's prospects for a successful season.

  7. I think the other school he visited (Georgia Tech I think) sign a center. Hopefully he loves the visit. Would think the way we used DW would be very enticing to him.

  11. Could it be as simple as Sallis wanting to play under Lloyd again? Maybe Lloyd was the one who envisioned the bigger role for him at Zaga? Just spit ballin

  12. I don't know. Arizona's roster is at least as good as the Zags. If he couldn't find a suitable role at Gonzaga, why would he go to Arizona? And why would they want him for anything other than to come off the bench? His production for 2 years was underwhelming. Plus, what's the Arizona coach's pitch? "My buddy Mark Few doesn't evaluate talent right, but I can see that you're a star waiting to happen." My advice to him would be to go to a lower-level program where he's certain he can play. I have a suggestion, but then it might seem like I'm biased.

UConn started the season ranked #27 by Pomeroy, but by late November they moved into the top ten at #8 after beating Alabama, then #6 after beating Iowa State. They were never lower than #6 all season after that even during their slump in January losing 6 out of 8 games. By contrast Creighton started at #23 and were only in the top ten (#9) for a few days in mid February after beating UConn on the road. They were mostly ranked between #12 and #15. So perhaps by record UConn was fourth in their own league but by KenPom at least they were easily #1 in the Big East with Marquette second and Creighton third followed by Xavier and Providence. Ken probably doesn't get enough credit for his algorithms.

  14. Sounds like it'll be Clark starting - guessing they don't want to risk Walsh for even a short outing tonight so he can be ready to go Sunday. At this point, conference games are 100x more important. The coaches loved Clark last fall, but he has been getting way too much of the plate so far this spring. (Kind of the opposite problem of most of our pitchers.) If they can get him going, he has a plus arm, so I suppose it's worth a shot. Maybe they found something to tweak in his delivery working on the side, because I don't think he's pitched in 3 weeks.

  16. Gary Sharp talked about how Hunter's mom was really impressed with Hoiberg, it was just too far down the road by the time he was hired. I don't get the impression the relationship with NU is bad.

  17. Arizona has now reached out. Would say that this changes things, depending on their level of interest of course, but relationships do matter.

That's what happens when you have 17 seniors on your roster. They tend to graduate.

  19. I won’t lie— it was kind of fun to see Creighton whiners still going last night and this morning. Saying things like “sure would have been nice to see Creighton play UCONN” and complaining about how much they were/weren’t shown in One Shining Moment.

  20. I’d be fine if he came back. I liked him when he was here and was kind of surprised when he left. I did think he would be a better 3 point shooter than what his career percentage has been.

  22. Yvan Ouedraogo started 27 of the 28 games he played for a 24-12 GCU Lopes team. He avg 5.0 pts & 5.9 reb. Shot basically 49% from the field and from the FT line. Seems like the same guy that played in Lincoln, Nebraska, only slightly older.

  26. I wish we had an answer on KT, because we're in between a rock and a hard place having that up in the air. But a Lawrence, Chucky, and Hunter backcourt sounds pretty athletic and versatile.

I get tired of all this talk about respect and disrespect. Just play the damn game and demonstrate your ability. Clark tends to be a showman and rubs many the wrong way. I would just like her to let her game speak for itself. And it speaks loudly. Same with Reese.

  28. If the staff has given ANYONE a guarantee that they won’t recruit over them, then they aren’t going to succeed here. We don’t have the ability to give those promises. Any coach really… it’s their job to get the best and the players have to prove their worth.

  30. I don't think it was racial, either. I think the media makes her out to be the best player ever. I think more people have not watched Clark at all until the last 2 games. They, then see an LSU player doing that to her, and call it classless. They don't see Clark doing similar things all year.

  32. He needs to grow the hair a little more. And he'll only be 23 next season. Also, I have no idea if he wants to start a trucking company.
