I two artist for the Iowa game thread. The first being the Everly Brothers. They grew up in Shenandoah Iowa. ANd the I have Tommy Bolin from Sioux City. He played with Deep Purple the James Gang and Zephyr. Tommy also had a solo career. And that is what I will be posting a video of. What do you guys got on this one?

Other than U of I athletes and coaches, Iris Dement was the biggest celebrity in town when I lived in Iowa City. The Weepies are still a great Iowa City band. On Edit: I just learned the Weepies broke up right after I left IC.

Likely moderate to heavy snow in Iowa City at game time.  Could limit any crowd factor.

Likely a small crowd anyway because most of their fans will be sitting in the Bob watching NU-Iowa wrestling or sitting at home watching wrestling on BTN before the basketball game. Thanks for the scheduling help, BTN! 😁

I just hope they don't broadcast the wrestling match on the big screens in Carver-Hawkeye during the basketball game warmups. Then the crowd will be huge.

Game seems daunting.  But is that just ghosts from the past?  The Huskers did just beat the #1 team in the country by 16...  Kind of have the same thoughts I had before the game last night.  Why not us?  Why can't this team finish top 25 this year?  Top 15?

This is not your 'frandaddy's' Iowa team.  They struggle this year more than previous on O and their D is still.... bad.  This is definitely a winnable road game.

All I want is a split of the next two at minimum. I think Iowa is a great opportunity to do that. Still not great defensively and if they execute the formula from last night and last year vs Iowa in Lincoln, they have a legitimate shot.

Double fast on baseline to cut off the rim, rotate HARD to the shooter, and big defender on the double rotate to the big so allick (example I'm using) can get out to the shooter. Or force a mid range contested pull up, which is out of Iowa's offense. Create chaos basically and speed them up.

There is zero question in my mind, Iowa will be ready for us.  Expect them to play their best game and they will hit their fair share of three's.

But here is the deal.  I believe we will still win the game 😉

Also, in games where mast and Krikke played each other in the MW, Mast won every matchup. Fwiw

Edit: forgot about the double OT game krikkes sophomore year. Mast is 5-1 vs him from the MW days

I feel we are the better team.  The biggest worry to me is the hangover effect.

I'll take one for the team.  🙂

Too many years of watching Husker basketball...  A win Friday would be pretty big.  Likely would be rated, building momentum with more winnable games ahead.

The best harmony ever was given to us by Don and Phil.

One of my top five concerts was Simon and Garfunkel with the Everly Brothers at the Qwest Center soon after it opened.  We had great seats.  Simon and Garfunkel never left the stage, but instead of taking a break, the Everly Brothers came out and performed 5 or 6 numbers with them. I'm not sure if this song was one, but it's one of my favorites by them.  Roy Orbison wrote it about his wife.

I was fortunate to see them at the Devaney  Center with Emmylou Harris.  I was hoping Emmylou would come back after opening to sing a number or two with them.
