How crazy is it that the son of a former NBA player is good a basketball?!?

I know, right? I mean, competitive fly fishing sure....;)

Wasn't sure where to put this, but I think this thread is as appropriate as any.  The all-time leading scorer in Nebraska High School basketball passed away over the weekend.  Bill Holliday was 81. He scored 2748 points over his high school career.  I know there are people on this board who not only knew him, but possibly played for him at Aurora.  I had the privilege of playing with him on a town team league for one year.

I didn't play for him (as I was too young to have had the privilege), but he was always "Coach" to me. He was a special man.

His wife Kathy lives in Aurora; and their 2 sons, Gregg & Geoff, both of their families also live in Aurora.

So in addition to a great playing career and coaching career, he got to coach the greatest all around athlete in Nebraska history.  Is this correct.

I think he just missed coaching Tom Kropp at Aurora H.S. by one year.

I went in-depth on this special stretch of play from Sam with some insight from his biggest supporter (i.e. his twin).

A good article including several video clips. (the vido clips are things of BEAUTY; watch full-screen. Northwestern game, 2nd chance Put-back off Briedenbach miss; Sam gets absolutely FLATTENED by NW #2 driving to basket (I thought they were in a wrestling match; #2 pinned Sam to the floor) Sam passes to Derrick, immediately cuts to basket, for a pass back from Derrick = Score! Maryland clips; Sam gets rebound from own missed lay-up; drives to basket & Scores. Several good plays in Maryland clips. Job guarding Jahmir Young, preventing game-winning basket; Positioning himself to take a charge in OT (turnover); Picking up the ball Griesel jarred loose from Maryland player driving to the rim; and Win Sealing steal & lay-up near the end of OT.)

Thanks Jacob!
