No, dammit, I want this kid. To be a Husker. Just so there's no ambiguity.

Pike is building something special at Rutgers though, unfortunately. Chances of us out recruiting them now for someone are darn slim I’m afraid.

Announcing Monday!  A couple rivals guys think Rutgers and Robin thinks Nebraska..  Robin hasn’t had best record of late but hoping he is right with this one!

This is a guy I like. If he picks someone else, you won’t be hearing sour grapes from me. I will be congratulating them on a good get.

We desperately need a recruiting win.  Maybe that can still happen with the portal at season end, but getting a target like this guy who is getting pursued by good teams would be a big boost to Fred at this point.  On the other hand, losing him would look like more of the same.

Steve Pikell is building a monster at Rutgers.  Including Ndongo, for 2023 he also has the #37 national player Gavin Griffiths.

For 2024 he has a commitment already from Airious Bailey the #6 national player and is in the top 5 for Dylan Harper (Ron Harpers brother) who is the #4 national player.

Pikiell will get hired by someone else before too long. Too much success to stay at Rutgers. Although, they're becoming the biggest name on the East Coast, so maybe that's reason to stay.

I'll just throw this out there:

Before "the punch" Juwan Howard was 56-27 (.675) as a head coach at Michigan. Since "the punch" he's 18-15 (.545). And the trajectory is downward. He's .500 over his last ten. Tom Izzo is 68 years old. Ohio State is barely limping along.

Right now, the only team that's clearly better than Rutgers in this conference is Purdue.

Not saying those other teams will fire their coaches and go after Pikiell (though they'd be foolish, if they had a vacancy, not to) but I mean he's ascending at a good time in this league to ascend. And if he wants to stay at Rutgers, he's probably in a good spot to have persistent success there.

Pikiell's coaching record at Rutgers looks somewhat familiar:

2016–17 Rutgers 15–18 3–15 14th
2017–18 Rutgers 15–19 3–15 14th
2018–19 Rutgers 14–17 7–13 T–10th
2019–20 Rutgers 20–11 11–9 T–5th NCAA Division I Canceled
2020–21 Rutgers 16–12 10–10 T–6th NCAA Division I Round of 32
2021–22 Rutgers 18–14 12–8 T–4th NCAA Division I First Four
2022–23 Rutgers 16–6 8–3

Unless UConn comes calling, Pikiell is going to be there for the next 10+ years

Towards the end of the 2018 season when it was looking like Ollie wasn't going to get another year at UConn, I was really hoping they would hire Pike away from Rutgers.  He hadn't proven much yet but it was pretty clear to me that he was going to get things going there soon and I'd rather he did that at UConn.

If that job had come open this year I'd feel pretty confident that he'd be their choice.  But Hurley's got 'em rolling now so we're gonna pry have to live with Pike in the Big Ten.  He's gonna cause a lot of headaches.

I know this has nothing to do with the purpose of your post, but Juwan was just riding the waves of upperclassmen who got some real good coaching the first 2-3 years of their college careers. He’s not a good head coach and will get fired before too long. I felt the need to add this simply because I can’t stand that guy.

Also looks very similar to Chris Collins last 5 years at Northwestern.
