Tim and Fred both knocked off a bubble team today!  Wonder where both will be ranked tomorrow.

Tim did have a bad bad loss earlier this week, but beating Utah State is dang impressive.

SJSU 99

Nebraska 102

The NET rankings confuse me. Washington St is 20 spots higher than us...We're both 1-11 in Q1. We're both 3-3 in Quad 2. We're both 2-0 in Quad 3. They are 5-1 in Quad 4, we are 6-0 in Quad 4.  How is the team with the Q4 loss 20 spots higher????

The #Nebrasketball tax is costly.

Margin of victory/defeat? I was a bit surprised to learn yesterday only one of our losses is by single digits. Everything else is a "blowout"

Gotta be it. They lost to 5 mid majors....Boise, Prairie View AM, Hawaii, UNLV and Utah St. Really seems odd to me.

Boise, Utah St, and UNLV are pretty salty Mids though.  Our mids stink and are struggling.

Not sure where the best place to put this is, so I'll dump it here:

There is no difference between the 12 seed and 13 seed but a huge difference between the 11 and 12 seeds.  Get the 11 seed and you avoid being in Purdue's half of the bracket in perhaps an unrealistic scenario where we go on a big run.  It doesn't hurt to dream though!

I like the way we matchup with Purdue

You also get Minny vs the other more polished turds.

For @49r or anyone else who knows these things: Is this the first time in Kenpom history that San Jose St was more highly ranked in Kenpom than Nebraska?

The game to game tracking starts in 2011.

However, in 99-00 during Danny Nee's last year, Nebraska finished 159 and San Jose St finished 152 so it has happened.

One team is ranked at 102 in KP despite having 5 wins over teams ranked higher than 70, and no losses under 89.  The other team is ranked 100, which seems about right since they've won 3 against teams above the 100 line and lost two to teams below.

KenPom is a computer program based on points per possession defense and offense, balanced with strength of schedule. It spits us out at 100. Bart Torvik has us at 121 and SJS at 101. We rank ahead of SJS in a couple of of computer ratings, (Evan Miya, Sagarin) so maybe focus on them instead.

Probably going to drop 3-5 spots in KenPom the way that thing likes us this year.  LOL.

Iowa, Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Rutgers has lost to a bad team. Their resumes are completely destroyed and their postseason hopes are dashed. Or at least that's all I've heard in all of the postgame reports. Always a story of their team playing bad, not us playing well.
