That was an ugly win.

The way the game was being reffed was not the working well with our original plan of moving fast on the perimeter and getting open looks. We adjusted well, started attacking the rim, and turned the reffing style into a positive for us. Report reply Huskerpapa 9,258 Posted March 4, 2024 (edited) Oh man, that was fun. Went to a basketball game and a rock fight occurred. We had the bigger stones tonight! We established ourselves in the first five minutes and then maintained it the entire game. Crowd was fantastic...again. I will re-watch the game and see what we sounded like. For those at the game, did you see the one ref's reaction at the half to the fans boos. What a classless act! This was, once again, a team win. And if I may add, I'm still waiting for us to play a full forty minutes of a game at our highest level. Report reply Vinny 1,076 Posted March 4, 2024 Was driving during most of the game and just getting caught up. Very happy to come away with an ugly win when we had to. Clean up our turnovers tonight and it’s a 20 point win. Clean up our turnovers from here on out and there are a few more wins to be had. They really ruined the game. HuscurAdam 1 Quote Share this comment

Report reply Navin R. Johnson 2,084 Posted March 4, 2024 Man I did not feel comfortable with any lead at anytime in this one. The problem with a low scoring "rock fight" like tonight is that if Rutgers sticks a couple threes in a row it feels like a 12-0 run. KT made some big plays down the stretch but Allick's board work early might have been just as important. Report reply northwillriseagain 311 Posted March 4, 2024 So is Wilcher actually planning on moving on? I assume as a grad transfer if so? He has his flaws but can be an offensive spark plug off of the bench. Quote Share this comment

He surged Nebraska to an insurmountable lead because Rutgers was 4 for 25 on threes (16% - lol). And that man deserves to be honored by the Big Ten as one of its 10 best players at a sign of respect and recognition. Will he get any, that's up for debate.. Report reply AuroranHusker 8,162 Posted March 4, 2024 Hoiberg created a team in 2023-24 that's capable of winning in the Big Dance, when the first 3+ seasons the Hoiberg-led Huskers seemed fairly incapable of winning much at all. How these next 3+ weeks go is immaterial to how crazy good this home basketball season's been, a record 18 home wins is a remarkable achievement. Get that first ever win at Crisler, and we'll all be wearin' our dancin' shoes in March Madness. GBR Always. Report reply hhcmatt 22,244 Posted March 4, 2024 Notes from UNL • Nebraska improves to 21-9 on the season and the 21 wins ties for sixth on NU single-season win chart. • Nebraska improves to 18-1 at home, including a perfect 10-0 in Big Ten play. The 18 wins sets a school record for most home wins and the 18-1 mark is the Huskers' best home mark since going 11-0 in 1965-66. *-Nebraska was a perfect 10-0 at home in Big Ten play, it marks just the 11th time in school history and third since WWII that Nebraska posted a perfect home conference mark (others were 2017-18 and 1965-66) *-Nebraska held Rutgers to 32.8 percent shooting, its lowest since shooting 32.3 percent against Indiana on Jan. 9 *-With 11 Big Ten wins, NU is assured of its first winning record in conference play since 2017-18. Allick, who reached double figures for the ninth time this year, went over 1,200 points in his career. *-Juwan Gary also joined Allick with a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds while adding three blocked shots. Gary now has five double-doubles for the season and eight in his career. *-It marks the second time this season Nebraska had multiple double-doubles in a game (also vs Oregon State on Nov. 18). • Keisei Tominaga led NU with 18 points, including 12 in the second half. It was the 10th time he paced NU in scoring this season. He now has 982 career points is 18 away from reaching 1,000 career points at Nebraska. *-Nebraska won the rebounding battle 44-40 and is 14-0 this season when out-rebounding its opponents. huskerkid21 and Vinny 2 Quote Share this comment
