Keisei showed up when we needed him.  But he had a sneaky good overall game.  Good job rebounding.

Was joking towards the end that we were doing it backwards subbing in Keisei for offense and Allick for defense

Maybe it's the booze but that game is easily top 5 worst reffed game I've seen vs Huskers. Lawrence got mugged on a fast break, Igor #34 must weigh less than a feather the way he could float with barely being touched and so sick and tired of Keisei getting grabbed and held.

I can only conclude you have only watched about 5 games. :) Otherwise... this isn't even in the top five this year. Creighton... Minnesota... Rutgers... Iowa... and Wisconsin were all worse.

I think NAIA refs could call a better game, than those clowns did.

Lol back in the big 8 days we had a game that the Bob was filled with a round of 3 Blind Mice.

Needed this win. Felt like this one would’ve been a tough one to overcome had we lost, barring some miraculous winning streak.

Jo brought it today. Needed that. Just don’t believe Mast is at full, well, Mast.
Brice had a tough stretch with some passes and he looked quite frustrated. Consistency will be his big area of improvement. He’s got a lot of tools and talent.

JL shot well and pitched in 10 points. His turnovers and decision making at times are rough. Still, he’s trying and doing what he’s being asked.

KT - such a joy to watch. Thought he tried to attack at times and not just be a perimeter shooter. His big shot was clutch.
On to THE Holtmans

- Wilcher was as mad as I have seen him today.  Loved the fire.

Yeah CJ typically doesn't show that much emotion - but at that one point Josiah had to run over and get between him and the ref and calm him down or he likely would have gotten T'd up.

Particularly the first half, they could have cut our throats and not gotten called. From just before the under 16 media timeout until about a minute left they had no fouls. They were coming under us when we went for rebounds and at the rim. It was dangerous.

Josiah specifically was getting knocked around like one of those weighted inflatable clowns. He got hit in the head at least twice even. If officials do actually have their performance reviewed, all parties should be embarrassed about that stretch of the game.

A few other sites and sounds witnessed at the game:

- Noah in his special helmet.  Always good to see you Noah!

- Kevin and his red hat/hair.  Always great to see and hear him.  Always fun to play where's Waldo/Kevin!

- More alumni than ever before.

- the dramatic entrance of the football recruits.  Dare I say, a bus load.

- Coach Rhule present and throwing the bones.

- Coach Cook, front and center.

- The Vault nearly full...and few of the patrons were students.

- Fans staying to the end, and even lingered a bit.

Watching it live may make me bias but after reading the game thread and the amount of comments about the poor reffing it was much worse than any of those. And after talking with fellow husker fans at establishment after game I stand by my comments. The initial comments weren't about the win or this player playing a good/great game but about the terrible job the refs did nearly costing us a win.

We beat a good, well coached team today.

That's happened several times this year that hadn't happened in quite a while, NU has broken 11-gm., 7-gm., 7-gm. & 7-gm. losing streaks against MSU, Indiana, NW, & K-St. all this season. That's satisfying in and of itself. GBR

Agreed that it felt more even on the boards, but part of it was we turned it over so much and shot such a high percentage, NW didn't have a lot of chances at defensive rebounds to pad their numbers.

Yep, NW had 63 shots while the Huskers only had 47.

There were 4 buses we noticed after the ballgame all in unison, must have had the recruits' parents etc. in that caravan.

Saw that and thought the same thing.

We were very fortunate that some of those 3 s didn’t fall late in the 2nd half. They had some good looks..

NW had made 4 of 5 to start the game, then went 6 for 26 to end it. It's how the ball bounces in & out sometimes. It was fortunate, agreed.

A few thoughts:

- Sweet win. Northwestern is a good team, so are we.

- I won't slam the refereeing, yet it is simply amazing when there are bodies flying and major impacts and nothing is called.  Then 20 seconds later a touch foul is called.  Not sure I understand.  Plus Collins can run the floor, literally, without even a warning.  Really?

- One negative, the careless turnovers.  Nuf said about that.

- We rebounded much better today.  Much better.

- Mast is simply getting beat up.  Man he takes some blows.

- Josiah was a man today.

- Much better game out of JLaw today. Good job.

- Wilcher was as mad as I have seen him today.  Loved the fire.

- Keisei showed up when we needed him.  But he had a sneaky good overall game.  Good job rebounding.

Everyone who played contributed, including Eli who gave us several minutes of quality.

- Good to see Blaise suited up.

Good point on Eli.  He’s a very gifted offensive player and is getting closer and closer to D1 on the defensive end.  I like his development.  He had a clutch, calm 4 points to go with a blocked shot and lucky steal.  Those minutes were huge.

He’s got a “Whiff” of James Palmer Jr. to his Game & I think he’ll be playing at an All B1G Level before he leaves.

I think Brice Williams could become a JPJ clone before he's all said & done at NU. He needs to ramp up the intensity and focus, it's a big step up from Charlotte to compete in the B1G night-in and night-out.

Forgot to mention Eli in my post. The 4 points he got from the ft line were massive. He clearly has a knack to get a bucket, so I'm really excited to see what the next few years hold for him.
