That was a cathartic experience for Husker Fans.

A rather nice test before starting the season. If they get things rolling like they did in the first half, PBA is going to be the place to be this winter. I think there will be a lot of nights like that. I thought they looked a lot sharper and more focused today. Way more comfortable after getting the jitters out earlier this week. I don't know that I've seen many Husker teams look this polished in an exhibition setting, so I think the starting foundation is a good one for this squad. Lots can happen, and I don't know that we saw a full on normal Colorado team, either, so I'm still going to refrain from making any sweeping statements, just to say that there's a lot to be optimistic about!

Really fun stretch of basketball to watch in the first half.  If the 3's are falling and the guys are moving the ball, this can be a very exciting team to watch.  Second half was kind of ugly (which Colorado wanted) but we did enough to finish off the win.  After the quick start we started to see some selfish play creep back in from last year and I'm not sure how good Colorado is even though they were picked above us in most of the rankings.  The Buffs were a big team and as expected hit the O boards on us but it just looks like something we will have to get use to and hope the mismatch at the other end can off set it.  Looked like the officials were not in mid season form as well.  Overall I was very pleased with what I saw.  We are not huge but the length on the wings makes us look bigger and played a part in the win as well.

Love the dogged aggression on the drives to the hoop, Love how many players have the "Green Light" to shoot, Love the fact this team should meet/exceed expectations, & I REALLY Love the fact the regular season is finally here...!!!

IBack home from the game.

* it is very wrong to point negative vibes at Colorado.  They are going to be good team.  It was NEBRASKA that took them out of their game plan.  We rushed out hard on their 3's we collapsed back and prevented penetration and we seamlessly switched on defense.

*  We showed great team chemistry.   The bench led the cheerleading.

* It should be apparent to all that we will need both Alonso and Trey to play the point.

* Worked out some of our issues, but a couple others still exist.

* Shot the three ball much better.  We should be fine at the free throw line.

* Our spacing appeared amazing.

* Those were Big Ten officials; yet I sure did not see many if any calls go our way.  But we may see a lot of that this year. I would say we are "pesky" and as a result we are going to see a lot of ticky-tack calls.

* Our depth seems to keep us out detrimental foul trouble.

I didn't expect to win today. But we were just flat out better than Colorado on both ends of the court. We should have won by ~25, but wasted several possessions due to silly turnovers. Said it all last year, but nearly every time Lat puts the ball on the floor it's a turnover. Needs to stick to catch and shoot threes, and layups off cuts without the ball. Trey was sloppy with the ball and tried to force things today, but I think he knows what his role on this team needs to be and will learn from those mistakes. Eduardo's three turnovers I don't believe would've occurred if Wilhelm was in that spot. 17 turnovers is way too many. Have to cherish each possession, which is something we didn't do the past two years. If we take care of the ball, we're going to be tough for anyone to beat.

I love the four newcomers that come off the bench. They shoot the ball with extreme confidence and without hesitation. Bryce and Lat also played this way today.

Thought everyone gave great effort on the defensive end.

Derrick Walker might be the most important player on this team.

Overall, a solid showing. Rebounding will be our key, it is for just about every team, but giving up second chance points hurts.

I took some high school aged guys who play on the basketball team. All were very impressed with Verge. Most were underwhelmed with #5 and said if they didn’t know any better, they’d think he was about the 6th or 7th best player on the team.

Wilcher shot well, he and Tominaga got the crowd going for sure.

Love the ceiling for Wilhelm. His two made threes looked so natural.

Lat is a Division I shooter and an NAIA ball handler. Almost a turnover waiting to happen.

Is there any way to re-watch the game on BTN?

It's nice to watch it live and in-person, but you can't stop and rewind. I'd like to be able to do that. I want to try to figure out what happened after we got up by 27 and then stalled.

My impression at the time was that certain players stopped sharing the ball and started caring about getting theirs. We got out of our system. Guys trying to make the hard play, like one-on-one dribble penetration, instead of the simple play that would involve a pass to someone else. And, as a result, we wind up with getting the ball stripped, or bad shots at the end of the shot clock (or not getting the shot off at all.)

And half of that 17-2 run came with all five starters on the floor.

It was, I believe, in the midst of that drought a buddy texted me and said "selfish hero ball" to which I responded "ego ball." And we both observed that a couple players seemed not to want to pass the ball to certain other players.

And it reminded me of this:

Ball got outta there in a hurry, huh?

We got up 27 and much like the crowd lost interest in what was going on.  Time to work on my game and do my own thing.  I don’t think it will be a problem when things are really on the line.  But who knows it was just fun to watch in person.

I get upset each and every time Lat passes on a 3 point shot and puts the ball on the floor.  He the becomes a turnover machine.

Bryce still looks either a step slow or tentative.  I hope he is just tentative at this point.

Wilhelm plays close to the floor.  I don't mind that...but he has to get better at finding a body to box out.

I am not 100% convinced CJ likes contact.
