I think Ranger was a 13 seed, so they were going up against a 2 seed. And Coffeyville was like a 10 seed going up against something like a 3 seed. So they both won in upsets. Both of the repping us pretty well.

Ranger plays at 5 PM and Coffeville's game will follow that. Neither of their teams had a first round bye, and they've each beat two opponents who did have first round byes. Championship game is tomorrow night.  

Coffeyville blew out their first two opponents, so they were able to limit Keita's minutes. He played a lot of minutes in their OT win last night though. Has to be hard for a big man to play every night (potentially 5 days in a row). Hopefully he has enough gas left in the tank.

 

Interesting... Keita's birthdate is 06/29/1999. Which means he'll be a 23 year old sophomore when he gets to Nebraska.

So that would make him 4 years older than Yvan and still one year behind in eligibility if my math is correct.

Cowley plays like Loyola Marymount did under Paul Westhead, raining 3's. Tominaga started off slow but heated up. Looking forward to see what he can do for us next season.

Obviously his shooting from deep is great, but I feel like we may be underestimating him as a passer and slasher to the basket.  Also, I want to call him the bowl-cut kaiju (big monster ex:Godzilla) but don’t want to be too forward.

Great news for Tominaga, and congrats to him - but I'd have to imagine this makes it tougher for him to be a major contributor at NU this season. Juco players typically struggle that first year anyway, but when he's not here all summer, that has to make it even tougher.

 

Hopefully, since he was probably going to have a very specific role off the bench this first season anyway, maybe missing the summer doesn't set him back too much for that role. Missing the summer probably guarantees he won't be able to contribute much beyond that specific role.

 

As much as I'm sure the coaches would like to have him here on campus, he can't turn down a chance to represent his country in a home Olympics. He was the youngest player on the preliminary roster of 11 by quite a bit, if I remember right, so to make the team as one of the last 4 is a pretty significant accomplishment.

 

I can't say I've watched a ton of 3x3, but I'd imagine that style of play fits his game to a T.

That 67 kg absolutely has to be a typo; 6-2, 147 pounds is rail thin. Keisei isn't large, but he's also not Mikki Moore thin. Ryuto Yasuoka is also 188 cm, but listed at 87 kg, which is about 192 pounds. Yasuoka is more muscular than Tominaga, but not that much.
