We'll know a lot more about them when they play Duke.

Well, at least Johnny Ottawa responded......

Not to be confused with Johnny Montreal. AKA Johnny Football. AKA Johnny-who-makes-$0.75-on-the-USD. AKA Johnny-washed-up-in-the-CFL-with-the-coach-who-recruited-him. AKA Johnathan.

Iowa's 21st on my ballot this week. I'm less inclined to penalize teams for losing games they're supposed to lose, but Iowa's win over Oregon doesn't look as good as it used to
Despite losing last week, Nebraska still moved up 2 spots (28 to 26) for me

What a twit.

he's probably right all things being equal so long as we split the iowa/maryland games on the road to restart the conference.

after that it gets easier.  4 of our first 6 on the road in this year's B1G is asking for trouble.  after that, we should make some noise for a while.  honestly if we start 3-3, we're going to be fine.  that's where the minnesota collapse hurt us... some of our roughest road games are right off the bat (including, to be fair, minnesota who is just hard to beat in minneapolis).

I wonder when the last time was that the hoops team was ranked on January 1.

The 1994-95 season, the only other time it happened was the 1990-91 season.

UPenn just defeated #17 Villanova 78-75. Never underestimate a road game.

EVERYONE will lose road games.  It is the teams that win some that separate themselves from the rest.  We are .500 in true road games and .500 in games away from home.  Not bad.

Villanova now with three losses. Has anyone thought maybe they just aren't that good? I guess Penn will automatically jump Nebraska and be in the top 25 now for beating a mediocre at best Villanova team. But yes, if we take care of Okie State, we should be back in.

'Nova's loss pushed them ever-so-close to being out of the KenPom top 20 (and having us leapfrog them into the top 20).  Alas, it didn't quite happen:

Villanova - naturally - was looking forward to their upcoming slap-fight at Kansas.  Interestingly, with Doke out with a boo-boo, I give them a better than average shot at pulling off the upset in Lawrence...

After that, Nova's got a game against UConn in MSG, which they will probably lose.  ?

The thread isn't about this, but Nova deserves a 'down' year. Their 2019 recruiting class is the best IMO for next year. They are only getting better. Losing practically losing everyone from last year, and next year they are going to be great again. Life in CB
