There's so much to say about this one!

 

- Glynn probably got screwed on those two fouls to start the 2nd half. But man, he came up huge down the stretch. Was quite a bit of sweet justice that he hit that shot at the end. Both in terms of what he had called against him today and the role he played at the end of the game in Lincoln. Man, that had to feel great.

- Jack got a lot of bad feelings thrown his way during his struggles in the middle of the season, but he's currently shooting better this year than he did last year.

- Ed had some big time play today. A few fouly, but otherwise, he brought it tonight.

- Tai carried this team early. He's fighting something, but he's battling right now.

- Jordy didn't play well tonight but I would still like to see him play more down the stretch.

- When Loving hit that 3, I thought there was no chance...

- Today's officials...:angry::rolleyes::blink:

- Fuller with some quality minutes.

- Just a big time win. Moves them into a tie for 8th. With Eron Harris going down, I'll be curious what MSU's mental status is.

- Man, what a big win. So huge.

Nice win, hard to say this but I am pretty happy that we are now tied for #8 in the league. 

- Tai was questionable for this game...but when we were floundering, he carried us...SENIOR!

- Nick played some quality minutes...dare I say I hate to see this, but I love to see this...we needed him

- Ed is a flippin man.  It may not show up in the stat line, but he made a huge difference today.

- MJ was a dud on offense, but a stud on defense and the boards. 

- Jeriah struggled.

- Jordy struggled.

- Evan had a pedestrian game.  Nothing bad, but nothing really great either.

- G-dub was one pi**ed off dude when he picked up his 4th.  But the dude came in and was a STUD!

 

The defensive stand at the end of the game was awesome.  That was huge!

Nebraska @ Ohio State random notes made while watching the game

 

  1. Using a Nike Elite basketball….it would be interesting to compare performances with brands of basketballs….definitely have a different feel brand by brand
  2. Why do we roll the ball on inbounds…with 18 minutes left in first half
    1. Someday somebody is going to take advantage of that tendency
  3. Evans Taylor missed lay up with 16 to go first half…unable to draw foul call by officials, cost a three pointer on the other end…5 point swing.
    1. Probably right call…defender went straight up…
  4. Mcveigh help defense in middle of lane on possession with 12:45 left first half
    1. In comparison, Ohio state man guarding mcveigh nearly dead center in lane while in similar help position
  5. Bad camera angles
  6. Mcveigh forcing it….needs to let game come to hm
  7. Horne looked lost on defense 8 minute mark
  8. Jacobsen got away with being out of bounds on his third steal
  9. I like the change of pace with the zone.
    1. I like the aggression while we are playing it
    2. We did leave the corner three open, but they missed it
  10. First half 24-30
    1. Tai and Jacobsen played well
    2. Evan and mcveigh struggled
    3. Overall, could be worse
    4. Only allowed 1 offensive board….that suprised me
    5. Physical first half, but only 4 fouls on Ohio state
  11. Watson got hosed on his third foul…
  12. Too much dribbling by Watson and tai early in second half
  13. Watson got hosed on his fourth foul too…
  14. Two guys bloodied, but no fouls called on Ohio state.
  15. Morrow first enters second half at 13:38…too long on bench unless he isn't 100%
  16. No fouls on Ohio state in first 8 minutes
    1. Miles showing restraint, I would have gotten A Technical by now
  17. The 18 foot jumper is a horrible shot
  18. Fuller gives solid minutes
    1. I think miles need to use him as a spark plug almost every game
    2. Maybe just 3-5 minutes a game, but good things tend to happen while he is in the game.
  19. Morrow assist, he will be an all big ten player if realizes he can get five assists a game because of the opposing teams need to collapse on him
  20. Officiating is inconsistent….on Ohio state defensive end, aggression is rewarded…on Nebraska defensive end aggression penalized
  21. I like the timeout with six to go.
    1. Two bad possessions in a row, good timeout after those bad shots
  22. Ed morrows fifth foul horrible.
    1. I hate the restricted area…I don't understand the purpose of it.
    2. why shouldn't defense have right to their spot anywhere on the court?
  23. Might be the worst officiated game of year
  24. Gutsiest win in forever

THIS is a very good point. I get frustrated that our big man think they need to shoot the ball everytime someone throws the ball into them!!! Good things happen when they kick the ball out!

we did not play well but luckily found a way to win.

 

we're officially out of the dreaded bottom 4 for now...

 

i'm very curious to see how we finish the rest of this season. with 4 days off we should be fairly healthy going into this final stretch.

Should've known better than to give up on this team. Saw them down 5 with 30s and was like well its over. Checked back like 45 min later just to see the final stats and saw that we won!!!! 

 

Let's go atleast 3-1 down the stretch. We don't play again until Thursday so hopefully the extra day is enough time to have every one feeling good to go.
