  1. Thought this deserved its own thread! https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/38951577/japan-keisei-tominaga-found-second-home-lincoln-nebraska

  2. I ran into HB a couple weeks ago at Gary Michaels Clothiers. Gary Novtney, the owner, donated a lot of things for my son Seth's benefit over seven years ago. Many of you donated a lot of money, so HB agreed with me it might be time to give everyone an update on Seth. I will make this brief as possible. For those new to the board, Seth was diagnosed with MDS, a form of leukemia, fourteen years ago. Several of my HHC family has met him. We attended the Barry's meeting of board members for the last game at the Bob. He loved it! He told me later that I'm on a message board with really nice people. I promised to make this short. May of 2021, Seth had a bone marrow transplant at Mayo in Rochester. All went well with the procedure. Since then, he's gone through what we laughingly call the Husker basketball procedure. What can go wrong... After the transplant, he's had GVHD, graft vs host disease. It's the transplant attacking his body. It can go after other organs. This one picked his liver. To combat it, doctors put him on high levels of prednisone. The prednisone attacked his hip. He will have hip replacement on January 23. He's had blurred vision in his left eye. When he went to his cancer doctor at UNMC, and by the way, his doctor and the cancer center are great, he told Seth virtually all organ transplant recipients develop cataracts. We learn something new everyday! Seth has his dad's eternal optimism. We always win in the end! God always wins! GBR!

    ESPN Keisei Article

Nice article. I trust there are a few on this board who would cringe at some of their own comments after his first year here.

  4. Any word on the severity of Stewart's injury? We need her. I'd also like to see Petrie get more minutes. She has competed at high levels in her young career. Probably just going through a period of adjustment, playing Division I ball. We have some nice pieces.

  5. We need to figure out how to not take your top scorers off the court at the same time. Creighton went on bigger runs when Markowski, Potts and Shelley are off the court at the SAME time.

  7. I think Amy talked about in a presser (maybe post game) she feels like using a lot of players allows them to get the max out of each player while on the floor. Agree quite a few use maybe 8 players and the starters have heavy minutes. I get the thought behind it but as pointed out if you take out your productive players then you can loose ground. We have also seen when our bench is doing good things and we sub them out and loose the momentum they have built. It is a fine line for sure.

  9. Hoiberg & Co. have found their kind of B1G dudes, finally. It was a rough go with he who shall not be named, but some may know him as Fatty Matty.

  11. Got a steal with this one. He will be our Tamin Lipsey. Probably won't start as a freshman like Lipsey did, but he could if he had to. I'm very confident in his abilities translating to the next level.

  12. Never saw it, so I'm gonna have to plead ignorance on this one. But, at risk of setting @jimmykc off on a nostalgia trip about Jo Jo White, I might offer Glory Road up for consideration?

  14. I've thought a lot about this game, and really have no clue how it's going to turn out. Keep it simple, I guess. The rounded numbers method. Huskers 80 Dukes 70

  16. Some guys have an affect that makes it seem like they're unaffected. It's not a bad thing, unless you're there at practice every day & see the guy blow off teammates & coaches at their constructive criticism. Fans' small slice of a mere 'view' of their life isn't enough to know what's what. By the way, I love Brice Williams' game in all facets. Never had an issue with Jorge Brian Diaz, other than I'd wished he would have dunked on dudes more often. But I still recall he defeated Indiana with 2 clutch last second FTs, that's "ice-water in his veins" type of a moment for JBD. GBR

  20. It is early in her career, but Natalie’s play reminds me a lot of Emily Cady. At this early stage she is not as good of a rebounded as Emily was in her freshmen season but Natalie could improve in this area as the season moves along. I hope Natalie play progresses to the level that Emily played at as I think Emily was one of the Huskers all time great women’s basketball players.

  21. Saw Tulane was on and was watching old friend Kevin Cross when I saw Atlason come in. He's shooting 10-20 on the year for 3 as their backup 4 man so the stroke is there. Seems like with Eli Rice playing well here and being buried that AA would be rotting on the bench here so seems like he made the right decision picking a college.

  24. No issue with your top 4. I really enjoyed "Hustle". White Men Can't Jump is up there as well (the original).

  25. It would be cool if they brought Danny back for this game since he coached at both schools and he is Nebraska's winningest coach. If they can bring Collier back, they surely can get Nee here.
