Definitely not. I actually visit the site most days and follow along during games. I think Tai is a prime example of why we need to remember the guys on the team are just kids and that just because they will have bad games or bad seasons it doesnt make them bad players.7 points

The problem I have with all of this is that would it be automatic that a different coach would have won these last two games if placed in a similar situation? We are down 2 scholarship guys from where we started this year. Excuse? Sure. The truth? Yes. Is Miles out of excuses? Maybe. The way I see it, the expectations have increased. Which they should, but I don't think there's any way a team in any of our previous regimes would be expected to win two league games down 2 guys. We weren't in the winning conversation before even at full strength. A league game was just a loss going in most of the time. I don't believe in moral victories because they don't count in the W column, but we've now played every single one of our league games within 8 points. It's hard to ignore the competitive nature of this team, look at the makeup of the roster, and be eager to get rid of Miles. That's just me. Wouldn't make any sense in my opinion. I've watched to much Nebrasketball to just assume that they next guy isn't going to have the same struggles. Some people just assume the next guy is the right answer. These last two two games are making things difficult to swallow. Ohio State. Rutgers. Two everyone thinks we should've had. Maybe it would be easier to just go back to being blown out.5 points

On the plus side today, creighton just gave up a 100+ and got beat by Marquette. btw, crowd did not look real into it on TV at the clink. I wonder if the scribes will bust their chops as much as they do Husker fans at the Vault? If the crowd was more into the game, could have willed them to the win. Riiiiiiiiiiight.4 points -

The thing with the haka is it needs to be done properly to avoid disrespecting its tradition. At my high school in New Zealand we would practise the haka many times before any event where the school would need to perform one. Getting the actions and pronouncing Maori words right is pretty important to doing it justice so the school Maori language teacher would make sure it was up to a standard and teach us of the meaning behind it. A blackout would be a cool way to celebrate Tai on senior night. Im sure he would appreciate it.4 points

This is about where I thought we would be. Granted the way we got here is very different that I could've expected but nevertheless we are here. 3-4 record W - Indiana W - Maryland W - Iowa L - Northwestern L - Michigan L - Ohio State L - Rutgers Where I had us 4-3 record L - Indiana L - Maryland W - Iowa W - Northwestern L - Michigan W - Ohio State W - Rutgers The last two losses come on last second shots/putbacks and the previous two are lost by three or less possessions each. I'm not saying there are any moral victories here by any means but this team is not far from flipping a couple of those L's into W's. the last two are excruciating gut punches but this team has tremendous toughness and will get back to work only to get better. It is tough sledding without Ed Morrow down low and that really hurts to know how much he effects the game in a positive way for us. It was great that we started off conference play 3-0 and there was a lot of talk about those three wins and that we could beat anyone in the conference on any given night, yada yada yada...Well, THAT IS STILL TRUE!!!! Yes we are on a four game skid right now, have some injury issues, fair weather fans are down on the team and people are calling for Miles to be fired (which is ridiculous, but hey, people will always call for the coach to be fired when losing, just the way people are, no matter who is the coach). So don't lose your heads yet Husker fans. Still a lot of games to go. This team has a lot of potential. We've seen how they can play. A win today would've got that good feeling back to take on the road to NW next week. But since we didn't get it, what are they to do? Quit? Say "we suck, we are on a four game skid, our hopes for any postseason play are over". No. Get back to work. Have some good practices and get the positive feelings flowing again, heads held high and go get a W at Northwestern. I know a lot of people on this board are not going to give up on this team/program. I just can't stand the people that are going to ride the highs and leave them for dead when we hit the lows. I think we tried too hard to get Watson a blow in the 2nd half. We took him out up 7 and by the time, we get him back in, we are up 2, or tied. Ed is a huge missing piece, especially down the stretch. In our wins against Indiana and Maryland, he came up with some huge plays on the offensive glass. Can't let this game, hang with us. Need to forget about it, and continue to improve.3 points

Let me first say that I DON'T think Miles should be fired. Our two best players have either fell or lost the ball in the last 30 seconds on critical plays that both end up costing us. Having said that, what a roller coaster for Miles. Hot seat after Gardner Webb, 3 game win streak to get us and the National media excited, now potential hot seat talk will pry be back in full swing. All I know is that there can't be many fan bases left that have to endure the F'N agony that is Nebrasketball. This f'N sucks so much.3 points -

Who was suppose to replace White and Shields this year? No one expected Tai to be 2nd in the conference in scoring this year. He averaged 10.0 points per game last year. Now, he is at 18.1 points per game. Watson, averaged 8.6 points per game last year, is now avg. 14.8 points per game. He shot 26.7% from 3 last year, and this year is shooting 42.5% from 3. Contrary to popular belief, players have improved under Miles. Turner is playing much better. Next year, we will have more depth to help us withstand injuries. We have a backcourt of: Watson, Turner, Gill, and Palmer. We have wings of: Roby, Horne, McVeigh, and Nana. We have a frontcourt of: Morrow, Jacobson, Jordy, and Copleand.2 points

Ive been able to find online streams for about half of his games and have listened to Kent P on most of the others. Its been great to see him succeeding. Its scary how similar he is playing now to how he did as a 16/17 year old back here, slashing to the hoop and pushing the ball in transition.2 points

Haka's out. NCAA regs...but. Since New Zealand uses the color black and the fern symbol for most/all of their sports teams, perhaps a PBA black out is in order for senior night. The AD could provide some T-Shirts too:2 points

Fire Miles Talk (complete BS)

I see signs that this group is close to breaking through, though we may not see the fruit of it until next year (I know, I know...). We've hit the reset button after six years for two guys who never showed any signs of getting the program to the hump, much less over it. Not saying those guys didn't have their good moments, they did, but I believe Miles is close to busting through that glass ceiling. I really do. And, btw, he's taken a team to the NCAA tournament. Here, at Nebraska. He did it. I'm gonna give that guy AT LEAST as long as those other guys got, probably longer. If it's me, I wouldn't be entertaining the idea until this sophomore class are seniors.1 point -

Yeah, I thought the seat was warmed up after the GW loss, but I don't really feel that way now. Having said this, the talent upgrade on the roster (one that will continue to upgrade next season with some very impressive newcomers) means there are absolutely no excuses to not get next year's team to the tournament. If Miles can't do that, I think he has to go, but I'm seriously pulling for the guy because his recruiting efforts have been incredible during his tenure here. I'm looking at the losses with a realistic viewpoint--that they have happened without our all-conference forward in Morrow. That matters a lot to me. He's been the difference in several wins this season, and is often our best player on the court--almost always our most intimidating. Also, we are now fielding too talented of a roster to really get blown out by anyone, and I don't take that lightly at all. Let's see how it shakes out, but man it'd be nice to get to the postseason this year. It would really, really, help move things in the right direction.1 point -

Fire Miles talk is dumb... We are what we are, and always have been (minus the 90's I guess, still didn't win a tourney game though). I'm starting to think there isn't a coach on this planet that is going to come in and change the stars of this program. The more things change, the more they stay the same. The BIG pecking order seems tough to change. We're lucky to have Tim Miles. We have a young, athletic roster which, given time, might be the group that wins our first NCAA tourney game. We have a good group of assistant coaches. If we change coaches again, kids will transfer, roster is gutted, and we start over. Might as well keep rolling with Miles. At least he has gotten us to the Tourney already. As long as Miles doesn't lose the locker room, i.e. Sadler's last team, I just don't see the advantage of changing coaches. Glad to get that off my chest, thanks HHC. Good therapy1 point -

We were in the bonus with 12 minutes to go, and Rutgers had only 1 foul the rest of the half. That's not good. Coach Miles said it well. We had 10 offensive rebounds in the 1st half, and 0 2nd chance points. That's not good. We ended up having 16 offensive rebounds, for 6 2nd chance points. Rutgers with only 9 offensive rebounds for the game, but finished with 11 2nd chance points. Rutgers, a team shooting 53% from the free throw line in Big 10 games, goes 14 for 20 from the line. We go 8 for 9 from the line. That is the difference in the game.1 point

Up by five with a 1:40 left in the game. You need to close this game out. Jacobson misses the front end of a 1and1. Webster dribbles the ball off his foot in our last meaningful possession of the game. Anything that could go wrong for us in the final minutes.....DID! 1. 4-0 with a win over Dayton! We look good! Miles done a nice job of recruiting 2. 5-6 with a loss to Gardner Webb... Miles is a terrible coach. Should we fire the guy? Losses like this cannot happen! 3. 9-6 with wins over @Maryland, @Indiana, and Iowa. I knew these guys had it in em. We have a chance this year guys! 4. 9-10 with losses to Northwestern, @Michigan, Ohio State, and @Northwestern. I knew it was too good to be true... fire Miles! This. It may be more disrespectful than anything, it's a proud tradition and should be respected as such...IOW, leave it to the pros. I'm afraid that getting a bunch of American college students to do it would be something akin to trying to teach the Chinese how to square dance. The results may be less than desirable. It's why I advocate a black out. It's simple, meaningful, and appropriate. Wearing a single color to games is something we Nebraskans are pretty good at.1 point
