In years past when we've flat out sucked, we always played people tough at home. I can't recall a team that quit to the degree this one has...

One game, Handy.  We may have sucked in other games, but to the extent we "quit", I can't think of any others.  We played hard.  We're just not a good team this year.

...against Iowa, we quit.  I will not mince words, that is why I was disappointed.

I heard Kent in pre-game mention that we were hyped and ready to play.  I believe I heard him say something akin to (and I will paraphrase) we do not like Iowa.  Perhaps...but within the first two or three minutes it looked like we knew it was over...then we made a brief run...and then...BOOOOOOMMM -- the team totally shut down.

After the game tonight I was thinking we hit rock bottom, and then I had a deja vu moment.  Where I have heard that before?   Call it fate, call it supernatural moment, but somehow I was able to find my way back to the "home of rock bottoms" and almost exactly one year after the last post.

How is everyone doing, outside of the obvious season disappointment?    I forgot how much I missed you fellas.

It would seem that your current assessment of what rock bottom looks like matches the difficulty level of finding this thread.

Will this thread become a tradition? Something like grandma's fruitcake that gets regifted each Christmas for 25 years straight? I sincerely hope not.

God I hope not but last nights loss was painful.  The team just didn't look interested until the last 5 minutes or so.  Is it the kids not getting ready or is the staff struggling to get them ready?

100 percent NOT rock bottom to lose a conference road game to a team who is on a little hot streak and who has beaten more rated teams than us this year.... Now a loss to Rutgers at home would be for comparisons sake.

Rock bottom? You must not be familiar with Nebraska basketball.  Things could be and have been much worse.  I'm really struggling picturing us dancing any time soon....but even if we do, I'm sure you will continue to be a douche.

Last year was rock bottom, 13-18. So to avoid rock bottom again we need some wins.

If you think that's rock bottom, you don't remember the year before the '91 team went 26-8.

And the year that the Huskers went 26-8, a reporter asked Danny why the team went from 10-18 to 26-8 his answer was simple. He said that the guys were tried of getting their asses kicked. So maybe that is the attitude that needs to be fostered now.

Please find me where these freshman rank in the top 25.

Nebraska losing to teams we are better than, Samford, Penn State in year 4 of a process is bad. Back to back years where you feel apart down the stretch. To me, last year, I thought was an anomaly due to a few personalities on the roster. Last night we lost to a club we beat by over 20+ points. prior to last night, I thought we had separated ourselves from the bottom feeders by beating the teams we were supposed to beat. So, yes, when in year 4 your comps are Rutgers and Penn State, who just beat you, I'd say that's bottom.

So as you see it we are at rock bottom in year four of the Tim Time?  Guess we need to be looking for a new coach as we haven't gotten any better.  Oh well just like every other time in Nebraska ball history things get bumpy and we start all over only to be doing the same thing 4 years from now.

But you know one of these times things have to get better you know, or why even care about us.  I heard Kansas always has room on their bandwagon.
