Robin Washut is reporting that it seem to be down to Notre Dame and us. In this scenario I like our chances. We need this kid on board asap. Then we need to land Morrow. That will get the ball rolling for Nebraska recruiting wise in my opinion.

Where is this being reported? Is there a new article or something?

I'm not seeing anything like this being reported either.  What are you seeing Robin reporting this?

Yeah, until proven otherwise, I don't think Robin is reporting that.

Check out the Official Media Thread:  Robin talked about it on 1620 today.

I hope that is the case.  My main concern was him wanting to be closer to home.  Of course if he picks Notre Dame he will have more East Coast games but if it's between us and the Irish i like that way better than us vs Maryland or Va Tech.

49r beat me to it. I should have been more detailed. I saw a message from a friend that Robin Washut talked about AW on 1620 the Zone and said it's just us 2 right now. To put it in a more accurate context AW doesn't have any other visits scheduled as of right now.

Yeah, I listened to the interview with Bahe live and never heard him say it is down to Notre Dame and Nebraska. Those are just the only two official visits he has taken as of now, which everyone already knew.

I thought that he visited FSU and Va Tech. Did he cancel those? I thought he was on a visit to one of those places this last weekend.

FSU cancelled on him as they wanted a HS player and the VT visit was nothing he ever set up and that report was false.

FSU cancelled on him. and VT just says he is coming on a message board only. Now the Richmond website also says he will visit and they would make room ASAP for him. But those are just a bunch of guys like us on a message board, as far as I can tell.

WE WILL WIN

What's the situation with your couch?

I would imagine the couch is still pretty sore after last season!   ;)

My couch is enjoying the off season.

Positive vibes husker family.  Let us fist our collective couches in hopes of greener pastures and superior recruiting classes.

Unless academics and having "Notre Dame" on his degree certificate is important to him.  Otherwise, I agree with you.

While I grant you that getting a degree from ND carries more prestige than one from NU, it's not like it's Stanford, Harvard or any of the other elite schools. I'm betting that the prestige of the degree will not play as big a factor in his final decision as some other factors that will end up favoring us.

Notre Dame is pretty damned elite though.  #18 in the US News college rankings (yes, college "rankings" are inherently flawed, but still...)

Stanford is #5 and Harvard is #2.  Notre Dame is a HELL of a lot closer to those two than Nebraska (#101) is, so...

FYI on this subject: Nebraska's Law College is ranked in 2014 by U.S. News at # 54. That's in a four-way tie with Pepperdine, California and Connecticut. That's also ahead of the three-way tie for # 58 among Houston, Kentucky and Oklahoma. That's also significantly ahead of Creighton, who comes in with a three-way tie at # 115.

Nebraska's medical and law schools are exponentially better than Creighton's, and it's not even debatable. Only the biggest Omaha-based Creighton homers don't acknowledge this.

Technically, though, UNMC is its own entity so it doesn't really count?  I mean, it could be considered just as much UNL's Med School as it could UNO's or UNK's...

Oh come on. The University of Nebraska was founded in 1869 and is the State's only public University. The University has included the Medical Center in Omaha since 1902. In 1968 the Unicameral reorganized the University, at which time it added UN-O and made the Med Center a separate campus. The University System added UN-K in 1991. The entire System is "one University" governed by a single Board of Regents and a single President, with a Chancellor at each campus.

when it comes to Mr. White i'm supremely impressed with how he is handling this, when FSU backed out to recruit some high school kid, he didn't go to twitter and be childish, he released a nice statement, and moved on, he seems to have narrowed down his decisions, and if he chooses ND solely for basketball, and academic reasons, i'll applaud him, as it seems so few kids are just going to schools for those pure reasons.

i also dont think he could go wrong, with choosing Nebraska for academic reasons as well, our academic All Americans, and graduation rates speak for themselves...we hold our own

That's because it is just as much theirs as it is Lincoln's. The "University of Nebraska" is made up of four campuses: Lincoln, Omaha, Kearney and the Medical Center. It's part of the University of Nebraska system. It's overseen by the same Board of Regents the other campuses are.
