#NOSITSUNDAY

Recommended Posts

The mainstream media has to pick it up and promote it to a certain extent.  There can be a grass root effort, but it is hard for some to understand what is going on and why.  For the students, it is sort of same-o-same-o...so I ask the student leaders, what can you do that is different and more rowdy (yet acceptable) in the student section?  To make a difference, you have to be the best of the best OR you need to do something unique.

No sit Sunday was unique. Let's not make it a "tradition" for any game which is important. There will be at least one of those every year.

It was and it was 4 years ago so I think its hardly been made a "tradition"....  It was one of the best atmospheres I have ever witnessed and will be hard to duplicate but its okay to try isn't it???  This team deserves an NCAA bid and if we can help in anyway possible we should.. JUST WIN!!

For best results it should just happen organically.

No it has to be a thing people talk about for days or the old folks won't stand.

Young guys behind me last night wouldn't stand for crap.   I stood a bunch nonetheless.   Was waiting to hear "sit down, old man!"

It doesn't matter if this is as good as some other year. We need to win a game against a white hot Penn St team where I think you can argue that a not as good Indiana team gets people more pumped. I'll stand or I'll watch the bench put on Macbeth if I think it will help get us to 22 wins.

That Macbeth line was apropos. I really hope Nebraska is celebrating Senior Night, in style. Whatever it takes on Sunday! GBR

What was the important game last year or the year before? A game like this one does not come around every season and especially not for nebraska.

A chance at the most regular season conference wins in program history is worthy of people being on their feet for a couple hours.

This will be my first year as a GEN seating fan for a possible NSS, last time it was as a student in 14, and it was really cool seeing the rest of the City get behind the team and show it in a unique way.

I think that a pivotal factor in continuing and fostering a basketball tradition in a place without any prior trace like Lincoln, is to get people like me who were students, to continue the passion, translating into buying season tickets and being faithful. That way you get nebrasketball fans who are of the same mind, and know how to be good fans and are also passionate about the lifetime interest (overarching lifestyle, actually^_^) .

As for NSS II, I hope we can find a way through grassroots (which can and will happen naturally due to the fanatiscism of people like us) and Official Nebraska sponsorship, to give it a little push. I think  you give it that little push and it'll happen, since, I agree, we really appreciate our Nebrasketball team and want to thank the seniors and what everyone put in in sweat this year. We'll see, but I like the chances that it'll happen. I'm here and ready to help in any way I can!! I can use my voice on twitter to push the movement, and probably will...

yes, I believe it comes around when we, as nebraska fans, who only get excited for a team that puts a good product on that floor (where they're clearly putting effort in and playing good basketball), see that the team needs that extra push for a key game....and tournament aspirations for nebraska teams sure doesn't hurt. ;)

yeah, you know that a sizable section of the diehard crowd will stand and be all in, but it does take a bit more planning to get the old folks and casuals into it. Have to spread the word somehow.

I say make the push for it.  If it'll pump up the team (They are college kids, this will get them pumped up) than go for it.  If it means upsetting a few in order for us to have a better chance to dance I am ok with it.

However, I also stand for most Nebrasketball games, even when I am at home, so my opinion might be skewed.

I'm in! Or is it I'm N?!?
Let's do it right. Show up early. Stay past the final buzzer. Support the Railyard first. Celebrate like the bench mob. Make the tshirts. Paint up. Tell your neighbors. Tell your family. College kids camp out. And please please NO JAYSKERS!
U 4 got tell the grandkids.
