Fred just said on sports nightly that Berke has had multiple treatments on his ankle, severe sprain and swelling, will be out an extended time. Crap!!!!!

That sucks.  It's time for Meah to step up into a bigger role again and hopefully carry forward his strong play from Ohio St.  Might need a few quality minutes from Cale as well.

I’m trying to remind myself that we started 12-2 with Meah and Ulis getting regular minutes. We can get through a few games scraping a new rotation together. We can do this.

Cale will play, Gavin will not, barring further injuries

I sure hope Berke heals up quicker than expected. He was just hitting his stride. Gotta hope Morgan & Meah can figure out their deficiencies and ball out as well as they can. Nebraska will need those 2 and possibly a scrappy guy or two to take up some first-half minutes as much as needed in the near future. This is horrible news to read tonight. I re-watched it and thought maybe it wasn't as bad as it could have been. These next few games are all winnable if the recent NU "winning formula" is followed, rebound the ball, limit turnovers, and shoot efficiently. GBR

That is true but for the most part was against very average competition.  Will be interesting the rotation now and Gavin will be used if we get in foul trouble.

I feel something isn't quiet right in the GG situation.  Don't know anything but find it hard to believe he buried so deep on the bench.

He looks completely unsure most times when he's on the court and against pressure like Maryland brings I'm not sure you can play him.

We can only hope he has been figuring it out during practice if we find ourself in a situation of having to play him.

Did anyone watch the B1G special that featured coach Loensor? They showed a 20 second clip of him coaching which included a frustrated/stern talking towards GG.  Now, the way he coaches and the expectations he has for players, I'm sure almost every player is coached like that every practice, so it's probably nothing out of the norm..... But..... You know that tone you use towards a child/player/student that just reeks of frustration?  That's the tone I got from that clip HA

Probably making something out of nothing, but I'm guessing it's all due to the defensive end.

Talented kid with some confidence issues. Your mind can really mess with you. Really affects athletic performance.

I remember watching some PGA tour event on TV some years ago and the commentators -- I think Johnny Miller was one of them -- were talking about how tour players almost never recover from a snap hook. They were talking about Steve Stricker specifically, and how he had developed a snap hook and somehow managed to correct it and find his swing again. And they were talking about how rare that is for a tour player. It's usually a career-ender.

I hear that GG is a good kid and a talented kid. But he's got some confidence issues. In a metaphorical way, he needs to figure out how to correct his snap hook. It can be done but it might take some time. If he doesn't portal, I would think that would be a sign the coaches still have confidence that he'll get things figured out.

I don't have any data to support this but I've always felt teams play really well the first game after a significant player gets injured. Northwestern beat USC after Barnhizer got hurt, so I guess there's one data point. Maybe it's the shot of energy players get knowing they all have to collectively step it up. Maybe it's tweaking a few things defensively, throwing something at the opponent they haven't seen on film. Maybe it'll be having smaller, quicker, scrappy players on the floor more (Sam, Ahron, Cale) annoying and harassing Maryland's bigs and energizing the crowd.

We're playing a top 25 team at home. A team we had on the ropes at their place a few weeks ago. PBA better be rocking.

Hopefully Berke is back for the Michigan game.

PBA has got to figure out the north entrance. Get to the game 20 minutes prior and wait 25 minutes standing in a line that backs up halfway across the bridge. Won’t be well received in negative wind chill temps Thursday. Maybe use more than one lane and one set of doors. I’m no logistics expert, but that seems like a start.

Would also alleviate getting out south if they allowed people in 100's to get to floor. Making everyone go up congests concourse and getting to escalators is huge bottleneck.

Hadn't had a chance to watch that yet. Just saw it... Idk that sounded like pretty typical coaching. Especially for NL. All gas no brakes.

Not going to happen.  Security issues number one; but when the PBA opened, people were allowed to go down and the "fans" were leaving early and it caused major logistics issues.  I agree it takes awhile to exit; but the alternatives are even more nightmarish.
