I probably say that every single game, if Connor could defend anywhere near as good as Sam, then NU would have an amazing offensive & defensive lineup "all in one."

Not even as good, just be as engaged on defense as he is on offense but he seems out of place or late on things all the time for some reason.  He looks to have plenty of athleticism and length to be average though atleast.

That's what winning teams do.  In the first half it just felt like if we could start defending and get some stops.  Our next two games are tough.  Getting just one would be big but two would be huge.  Looking at the schedule looks like we may have to get at least one more road win.  Hopefully we just start a big win streak here.

Great energy to start the 2nd half and had the game tied in the first 4 minutes.

Brice with the dagger three was sweet.  Then the smooth layup.  Essegian's three with 6 minutes left to push the lead to seven was another one.  Those are the kind of shots winning teams make.

I think he's gotten better, and that means he still has a ways to go. I believe he will improve enough during his Husker career. Shoot, Keisei Tominaga did, and if KT30 can, then certainly Essegian can too. lol

I still think of a late-game situation when PG Cam Mack bricked all three FTs (from a 3-pt. shot) and then NU lost by 1. That was so brutal, it was a very early season game & a sign of things to come that particular season. Sheesh.

I used to live on the west coast (which in my opinion is almost always the best time zone to watch games), but now live in the Eastern time zone and I don’t have it in me to stay up that late. But thanks to all of you for the great rundown of the game. Love that we valued the basketball so well. That will travel too. And let’s keep this winning streak going. GBR!!!

Cue the Will Ferrell Old School streaking GIF!!! 😂😁😜

Berke and Wilhelm make the Big Ten Men's Basketball social media post. A rare Breidenbach sighting tonight, he only played 7 min. despite starting. lol

That's from the opening where Berke hit a 3. You can see the 19:

Thank goodness for the second half. I felt like the first half was my fault after my post in the game thread, talking about how Washington can't shoot.

That's 6 wins away from PBA. 4 road wins.  4-5 on the road and 2-1 neutral site. So that narrative can't be used against Nebraska this year.

6 of the final 8 games are quad 1 opportunities. 5 of the 8 are home games. Nebraska truly controls its own destiny at this point.

There haven't been too many Februarys the last 27 years where we could realistically think about this stuff. Makes for a fun month.

Quote by Charles Dickens: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of t...”                I think Dickens summarized this best. I went to bed disgustedly at half, so I must have been the jinx. Thank you very much gentlemen and ladies. Fortunately,  I taped the second half which made breakfast go down better.

I was also thinking about this quote last night before drifting to sleep though I reversed it

BK has been a polarizing player on this board but yet another game in which he had the highest +/-

Season leading rebounder and shot blocker and somehow 4th in steals. A few less kebabs this off season and I’m excited to see him improve next year. Feel a lot better with him in than Morgan. Morgan started the year shooting FTs at a decent clip and has just plummeted lately.

My friends, that was a blast!

The place was half full, with red behind our bench, and then sprinkled throughout.   Not sure how it sounded over TV, but I thought Big Red showed up.

The facility was nice; but certainly small.  I commented to someone near me, in red, that it was more of a small college feel.  Their fans were, uhhh, rather mild.  I did see Rich King.

Man, I was worried for a bit.  It seemed the losing string MOJO was coming back; but boy, a great second half turn around.

Will climb on a plane and return home tomorrow; but what a great trip with two quality wins.

The players who played...played well.

Were you wearing your red and white overalls and stocking hat? They showed a guy wearing that after game on tv and thought you said you wore overalls to Oregon game. If it was you it was 5-10 seconds of fame on BTN.

There were two of us with bibs on last night.  The dude you were talking about started near me, but then migrated down to the floor where you saw him.

We could accomplish everything we want in our defense without doing half the crap we do.

We do not need to pre-trap the baseline for every player and we do not need to pre-run people off. It’s absolutely ridiculous we keep doing this. That could have been a disaster last night.

Drives me bonkers when we do this what seems like every possession when we have a size advantage in the games.  It’s an okay to good change up here and there but it really got us in trouble in the first half I felt.

Just needs to be on the block more and at the 3 point line less….he tends to float out of position on pick and roles to unfortunately where as Morgan does a good job of finding the open space….atleast he roles though where as meah just kinda looks around on a roll

BB?

Berke and Rollie doing something or anything is the key to us moving forward. As long as, of course, you get what you need to get from Juwan and Brice.

Brice and Juwan constantly leaving their feet to challenge 3's that haven't happened yet leads me to believe they're taught to do it. Just puts us in an unnecessary scramble.

I did the same @jimmykc so you don't own the entire jinx - it's on me as well. After the 1st half, I didn't think there was any chance of a win.

I've seen a few posts about our defense but I don't think it was completely terrible before the break. I can think of at least 2 situations where Connor was exactly where he should have been, hands up and in the face of the shooter. Yet, the prayer 3 went in. No one could have defended those any better.

I have been doing a lot of thinking about our defensive approach and while I don't love it, the difference in closeouts from an open shot to a contested shot is often inches. Inches usually means just a little extra effort.

Great comeback win by the fellas - gotta keep grinding. There's no margin for error now.
