Trev handing out Football jerseys to the Basketball players was beyond idiotic. He should’ve given them Black ‘91 Hoops Jerseys to commemorate the Big Win, honoring our BASKETBALL history & remembering the 40 beat down we put on Creighton that season on our way to a #3 Seed!

When I saw Blackshirts in the description I honestly thought he was gonna bust out those sweet sweet black basketball jerseys. Missed opportunity.

Had to use up the old football jerseys first.

Yup, everyone worried about the Frost buyout can see that over the long run Alberts can be relied on to make smart financial moves like using up the unallocated Blackshirts from football from the last decade

Maybe they will repay the football team and give them Black 91 Hoops Jerseys after the Defense shows improvement next year.

20 minute video cut of the game

Just watched this because I'm trying to reverse engineer our match-up zone... Think I have some ideas. But I primarily wanted to see how Bando got so many steals on air off of skips, it seemed like design. We just X out really well on the back-side and Bando has a knack for it. Not sure it was anything more than that.

Also, Jesus... Derrick just, he just... well he killed a man, all game long.

Some big moments for me personally.

1.  When we got down in the first half by 1 or 4-- we never let CU have any separation.  We always seemed to have a bucket and that was key in keeping us in it.

2.  Start of the 2nd half.  First possession, DW misses a bunny but gets his own board.  Gives it to CJ who misses a 3, but again DW gets the board.  DW then takes it right at CU for a bucket.

3.  Up 31-23 early in the second with all of the MO.  Bando misses a shot, Sam misses both FT's and then we have a turnover and just like that it's 31-30.  Sam proceeds to miss a shot and CU has a chance for the lead.  But our D shows up again, gets an easy steal for a CJ dunk.

4.  Wilhelm's 3 when we were only up 3 at the time.  Gave us a 6 point lead, but we gave up an O board and three on the next possession.  So instead of being tied, we came out of that sequence up 3.

Yeah those were bad. But it's either CJ or Keisei and I don't trust him either.

Would be nice to have another strong, reliable, mature player to give the ball to in those moments. Kind of the Derrick Walker version of guards, if you will. Say, a guy who shoots 83% from the line, 58% from the field and 50% from the arc....

(Keyontae Johnson) I don't know if I'll ever get over this one. Just imagine our starting lineup... He averages 18 and 7 and is a good defender...

That he did.

And it's not like it was just some random 6'5 dude trying to hold down the middle for Southwest Schleppenville State.

That kid will be All-Big East.

Last years Big East defensive POY no less.  Walker is a man and took it to him.  He put on a clinic on how to attack a shot blocker.

ooops…just echoed a previous post.  That’s what I get for not reading the whole thread before posting!

Safe to say that some of the lapses we had early in the season was the growing pains of learning a new system

This is one of the reasons I hope Lawrence gets more live minutes.  Guessing he is capable of becoming a better ball handler than both.  He needs rep though because he’s not ready yet.

Bad thing is we really only have one more “get this guy reps” game unless we find ourselves down 20+ sometime.

It was at that point I thought "Here we go" and the Jays would open the floodgates.  It never happened.  The difference between this year's team and our last few teams.

Feels like we have a pretty good combination of players and coaches this year

The Jays certainly did their part in terms of decision making, mistakes, etc.  That TO wasn't completely due to our stifling D.  They were making poor decisions all night.

That’s fair.  Part of me thinks they kind of coasted into the game assuming they would win without too much problem.  Heck, earlier in the season I think everyone was expecting a blood bath.

After playing Texas, Arizona and Arkansas tough, we probably looked like a breather game.  In sports when you go into a game and you aren’t properly focused, teams can’t just turn it on when they realize they are in a dog fight.  And as soon as we punched them in the mouth it was on.  I love the makeup of this team, especially with Walker back.  (Okay, I do wish we had a Glynn Watson-esque PG)
