You only need to look at any mock draft for 2021 and see that the Big 10’s talent level doesn’t match the teams’ computer ratings.

Agreed, it was laughable when commentators would say, “This is the Best B1G Conference EVER” when the lack of top flight NBA talent was obvious.

NBA talent doesn’t always equate to NCAA success.

Very true, but there’s no Glenn Robinson, Calbert Cheney or Chris Webber etc in this league. Garza’s a nice player but I don’t expect him to make a big splash at the next level...

phew, looking more like we'll be lucky to get two teams into the sweet 16!

going to need some serious upset action by rutgers and or maryland at this point.

Michigan might be the only Sweet 16 team.I am not sure they can beat LSU.

at this point, it's understandable to think we've all been suckered by a phantom conference and now conclude all our teams really suck (although if that's true, lord help NU). So far, the "day 2 lineup"'s been good. It's the day ones that stunk up the joint. I'm hoping that holds and we go 3-0 tomorrow, but it would take a good upset from the Terps to do that. Rutgers almost pulled off a biggie today themselves, and that's the same task Maryland has tomorrow.

I'll be cheering for Francon 1 for the entertainment value alone.

We really don't want a conference that we finished last in to completely flop in the tourney. I can't handle that reality check.

So for my mental health, let's hope for a 3-0 today.

I sort of want to see a KU-Iowa matchup in the sweet 16. but I don't see either beating Gonzaga in the the Elite Eight. By the way, I was 2/8 in yesterday's matches. I wonder how KenPom is doing?

So here's what's going to happen:

  • The Big Ten flops in this year's tournament
  • The SOS and NET computers say "we were wrong"
  • Big Ten gets preseason ranked lower than the other P5 conferences
  • Nebraska goes on a tear, 22-10 to head into Selection Sunday
  • The talking heads say "The Big Ten is down this year"
  • Nebraska goes back to the NIT, playing uninspired basketball because they were snubbed

A clear case of HBFS:  Husker Basketball Fan Syndrome.  A close relation of Stockholm Syndrome.

It's almost as if our record will decide how good the conference is or isn't on any given season. "Well, Nebraska finished in the top half, so how good can they really be this year?"

Oh, man, we've chosen a hard path of fandom.

Can't do it.   The only time I would ever cheer for Iowa would be when they play Creighton.    Plus, screw the Big 10.
