I hope Tim does not go after the Cal job. I do not think he’d fit in well there at all and not sure they are committed to athletics. Hopefully he finds something better.

I think he could be in line for a better job. I think what he accomplished here at Nebraska has aged well. And what he has done at SJSU is remarkable. And CSU before those two.

Taking a perennial Power 5 bottom feeder to an NCAA tournament (their only one for the past 25 years)... and taking a perennial bottom feeder who has never been above .500 in conference EVER to a 10-8 conference record and first day bye is a pretty good resume.  Says he can build wherever he goes.

Nail-biter in Las Vegas.   San Jose State up by 2 (65-63) with 33.3 sec left. NV with the ball.

Nevada scores to tie @ 20.0 sec.  San Jose St misses a trey; Going to OT.

San Jose State Wins it: 81-77 OT despite chocking on 4 (per announcer, I counted 3) FTS in OT.   Nevada called for an intentional foul (flagrant 1) w/5.5 sec left sending SJSU to the line, makes both.

Announcer said it was the 1st time SJSU has won a game in the Mountain West Conference (was 0-8).

Post-game Interview was Classic Tim Miles!  :Mfclap::Mfclap::Mfclap: (One can't help but like the guy!)

they just have really high standards for admission. it's like coaching harvard or stanford. i can see that being an attraction for some personalities, and cal has had some success in sports, notably football not that long ago. you can keep that job a long time if you' just stay consistently above mediocre. :)

Last chance for 27 year old Aguek Arop to extract his vengeance for that prep school suggestion

I think Aguek's college stats prove Tim was right.

(And Bruce Chubick was being a little bitch about it.)

On the one hand, yes, he wasn't ready to be a major contributor at a high level major college program.

On the other hand, no, because he was never going to be a major contributor at a high level major program.

(Which leads me to think that when he was so impressive as a 14 year old high school freshman, that he wasn't really 14 years old, but that's neither here nor there.  It's just that I wouldn't ever trust foreign birth certificates.)

Decent enough career I guess, but it would have been interesting if the 2020 tournament had not been cancelled because they were looking like a final four team, he could have maybe matched up for a while against Jordy because Dayton was looking like a final four team as well.

I trust his age. He used to help my sons team when he was a freshman/ sophomore. Really good kid, especially knowing where he came from.

I have no problem with Tim suggesting the prep school after the injury. However I do think he could be a nice role player contributor on a good P6 team. SDSU is a very legit program.
