Connor Essegian's issue has never been scoring, it's been playing enough defense to stay on the court.

Depends on your perspective I suppose. To me, it's excellent news to hear that he's able to do some live work already. I was kind of penciling him out until the new year at least so it seems to me like maybe he's a little be ahead of schedule!

Penn State is tough people are sleeping on them. That NIU transfer he's a center I can't pronounce his name, but he is really good.

Creighton jumped up to #75 in the NET. That pushed us from 43 to 35!

I think it’s harsh to say that Coley is useless. However, I will agree that she has underachieved during her time at NU. Do you guys remember how highly touted of a recruit she was coming here out of Minnesota? I believe she even graduated high school early in December and joined NU in January. She was billed as a difference-maker. For over 4 years now, I have been waiting for her to “put it all together” and realize her full potential as a b-ball player, become a major contributor on both ends of the court. But for whatever reason, that just hasn’t happened.

With a full week off before the next game, I imagine they will play it safe and hold him out against MSU. He's too important to risk a setback that could derail his entire season when another week of healing is there for the taking.

All I said was Connor made 6 threes in a game twice already and Keisei never did that in three years against any opponent. Sample size has nothing to do with that. Connor did it (twice). Keisei never did. If you want to say Connor gets more volume because the rest of the team isn't as good of shooters as last year, you're technically right so far. Through 7 games this season Essegian has attempted 45 threes and made 20. Through 7 games last season, Keisei had attempted 38 threes and made 13. So Keisei would have had to go 7-7 just to equal Essegian's start to the season. But I don't really agree with the notion that Keisei never made 6 in a game because he didn't have as much opportunity as Connor. He had 7 games in his career where he shot 10+ threes, and he had 13 games where he took 9+ threes. Never made six.

Fair point, but North Florida was also one of the worst defenses I have ever seen come through DONU.

Coley is a 3 and not a 4. It wasn't til this off season that she spent time at her natural position. Only going back to a 4 since Potts injury. Had she been able to play the 3 I think she would have had a better college career. That said she will do whatever coach asks of her to I will give her props for being a great team player even if she has not produced much on the court.

With Coley starting it looks like Amy is trying to find someone who wants to replace Potts as a starter. We have not found her yet. As pointed out on another thread, maybe 4 guards and Markowski is the answer. Also would not mind seeing both Markowski and Bozan in at the same time. Will give props to Petrie for a nice second half tonight. We start like this on Sunday and will be staring down a loss. The girls know it can't happen so will see if this is their wakeup call.

Teams I'm scared of that will give us problems UCLA, Oregon, Maryland, Illinois, Michigan Teams we match up well with Indiana, MSU, Purdue, Northwestern, Iowa Teams that could go either way Rutgers and Penn State (they look really tough so far) Teams we absolutely can't lose to USC, Washington, Minnesota

Welp, got our tickets for both the Oregon and Washington games. Should be a good trip.
