Not for nothing, but I've loved Hake's play throughout this tournament. Not much for stat stuffing, but very smart6 points

Part of the success this season is a stat that hasn't been discussed much: team FT percentage. I think it currently is almost 76%. That's far and away better than the past few years which hovered in the mid 60s. In general, in games that have still been up for grabs, the Huskers have made FTs. That wasn't true in the past. Props to Wilcher for leading the way.6 points

It's Wilcher, Keisei, Brice, & Mast all leading the way. Impressive display of excellent free-throw shooters, especially at crunch time, on this 2023-24 Nebrasketball squad. Wilcher 31-33 = 93.9% Keisei 64-72 = 88.9% Brice 92-109 = 84.4% Mast 50-60 = 83.3%5 points -

Credit to Amy and her staff. She has done it her way and has us in the finals. Of course I reserve the right to be a critic. I even was a critic, at times, of Tom Osborne. So happy for the players, staff and Husker fans. Like Jaz said, bring on Iowa.4 points -

Are we going to the B!G Tournament championship game?? YOU BETCHA!!!!!!!!!!!!! So many key contributors allowed us to win this game and advance throughout. Above all, Shelley has gone beastmode, for lack of another way of putting it. I really really want Mich. to win, but nothing in me really believes that will happen! What a run this team has made! GBR!! I will say the scheduling of these games really sucks! How or why does the B!G allow the final to be scheduled for an 11am CDT start? Ridiculous!!4 points -

So it looks like with coach playing all of her bench throughout the season and in the B1G tournament paid off.3 points -
As another sometime critic, Amy (and the players of course, especially Jaz) absolutely deserve mucho credit for this sustained excellent performance. Dumb turnovers and ill-advised 3s have at times been serious problems this year. I said in another thread that the team needs to make ‘good look’ 3s (at >35%) and control turnovers (<12) to beat good teams. It did just that against MSU, and while they had 15 to’s against Maryland they also made 13 3s @ 45+%. I stand by my opinion that the team is not overly athletic or quick, which usually has shown up in ineffective man-to-man defensive spurts throughout the season. But they’re now playing really high energy TEAM defense that largely compensates for any quickness limitations. So once again, kudos to the coaching staff and players. Do they have enough left in the tank to overcome a probable Iowa rubber match? Big ask, but that’s why they call it madness.3 points

The last 2 games have reminded me of the really good Yori-era teams with Moore, Hooper, Cady, and co. I'm very impressed by the way the role players have stepped up and give Amy a lot of credit in developing that talent around Jaz and Alexis (and Potts). Nissley, Hake, Stewart, Coley, White, and Petrie all had big contributions today against a program that is very hard to beat in March.3 points -

Who would have predicted Stewart with 9, Coley with 6 in the Big Ten semis? They stepped up huge with Markowski and Potts not having their best offensive games (and hampered by foul trouble). I'm so happy for Jaz that she gets to end her career making a run in March and showing the rest of the country what a dynamic player she is3 points -

I just don't understand how we can always foul so much when Maryland (or any opponent) drives to the basket; but Never seem to get the foul call in our favor when we are shooting under Their basket, i.e. Markowski trying to shoot amid a forest of opponents arms.3 points

Maybe her biggest assets are she never gets rattled, and never quits. Missed some shots, it just seems to make her more determined. Focused always. When it's on the line she is pretty reliable. Other teams know it. The supporting cast came up big time today.3 points -
Have to compliment Markowski for recovering from setting the record for worst shooting percentage on a single possession early and having a big game when the Stooges refused to call any fouls on her defenders.3 points

JOKE ...just so no one gets excited. I'm kind of disappointed in Jazz...she had 5 turnovers today. : ( OK... Jazz's grandparents were there today to watch their grand daughter play maybe her greatest game ever as a Husker (or possibly ever). That's as about as good as it gets. Maybe the best overall game, and on another level, by any Husker I seen in quite a few years of watching Husker women. Jazz not only shot like crazy.....but was the General on the floor, and controlled the tempo and the game overall. The whole team was on fire and played great. GONGRATULATIONS on a great game today. Actually great play all week. Looking forward to tomorrow. No matter what happens tomorrow, just proud of this group. and how they fought so hard all week...and season. It's not over, lots of games left hopefully in the NCAA's. This week has to have improved our NCAA seed.2 points -

Probably should've postponed for a DH tomorrow because our guys weren't all that ready to play / interested in playing. Far too many popups and fly balls trying to take advantage of the wind. Not a good approach at the plate. Time to stop reading the nice things everyone has been saying and to get back to work tomorrow. I like having a no-nonsense guy like Sears on the bump for a game where we need an attitude adjustment.2 points -
