I'm thinking with all of the Illinois players we will be seeing this kid in PBA often in the future.

  2. According to the Omaha World-Herald this morning : Roby hasn’t undergone a formal growth analysis. His father is 6-5 and his mother 5-8. And he is young for his class. “One thing Coach Miles said he liked about me was that I don’t have any leg hair or facial hair yet,” Roby said. “He said that shows I have a lot of room to grow yet.” There you have it--confirmation received.

Alright, no lies. I'm drinking my typical $12 whiskey---AT 50% OFF. Seriously, PM me, I'll give you the location of the spot droppin 6.54 1.75's of gold... IT MIGHT JUST BE A CORNER PHARMACY. But, it's rant time. I never hated the Roby kid from Colorado. And I hate everything Colorado. Because it's not NU Now NU HAS A ROBY And I couldn't be more excited. Why you ask? Because I can't even in my deepest, darkest, twisted mind think of anything clever to say if Roby lets me down. Actually, this is kind of twisted, but if he lets me down I'll think of diss-roby. Which is kind of funny (or fun) depending on how you see it. As I'm typing disroby I'm watching the royals fall apart and making obvious parallels BUT a HOMERUN happens, so Roby is obviously a homerun. It's not that Roby is Royal, but the connection is obvious. Roby+ time= Row time. 4th row (number of letters in roby's name) will likely win some kind of Runza/pepsi promo this year. I just feel like that's enough for me to consider this an exciting sign. I've never followed logic in life. It makes a lot of sense not to. As you already know, WE WILL WIN.

  4. Has to be really demoralizing to Greg McDermott seeing all these recruiting targets of his commit to Tim Miles. Maybe he could have another kid or something.

  5. Creighton fans / Jayskers have said that McDermott was trolling Nebraska fans. That doesn't really make any sense. Creighton fans have to be more bothered about McDermott wearing another team's gear and cheering for another team than Nebraska fans are. It doesn't bother me at all. I think it is awesome that he is cheating on Creighton with Northwestern. The same way that I thought it was awesome when Dana Altman cheated on Creighton with Arkansas when he went down and did their "WOOOOOOOO PIG SOOIE RAZORBACKS!" cheer at their press conference. I mean consider this... If Petteway were to leave Nebraska for the NBA after this season...And say he ends up with the Washington Wizards. If he were to be shown on the Big screen of a Georgetown vs Creighton bball game and he was wearing Georgetown gear and cheering for Georgetown... That would obviously sting Nebraska basketball fans more than it should sting Creighton basketball fans, because Nebraska fans are the ones with an emotional tie with Petteway because they spent years cheering for him. Seeing him in another team's gear and seeing him cheering for another team is like seeing your girlfriend out on a date with another guy. But I guess if it was some weak-sauce attempt by McDermott to troll Nebraska fans...maybe he is just jealous that more Nebraska Football fans made the trip for a road game over 8 hrs away in Chicago...than Creighton ever got for a home game at the Century Link center to watch him play for a mid-major basketball team. And yes, they are still a mid-major basketball team in a mid-major conference. Only having 1 team ranked in the top-25 is mid-major.

  6. I could personally give a rats ass who he roots for in a football game. I am not sure why anyone else would care either. However, it does tell me a lot about him as a human being, when he tweets that picture of the douchebag Gibbs jumping on Petteway. He knows damn well who started that, and it is pretty dumb to post it. Almost as dumb as his dad tweeting that garbage right after it happened.

Roby said his offer sheet so far includes Creighton, Georgia, Northern Iowa, Illinois State, Northern Illinois, Bradley, Drake and IUPUI. But other Big Ten schools — Wisconsin, Minnesota, Northwestern and Iowa — have sniffed around. What if one of those schools tries to change Roby’s mind? “I’ve thought that through already,” Roby said. “I’m not a person who wants to decommit after giving my word. That’s not a classy thing to do. So I’m going to be a Husker.”

  8. I'll take a stab here because I'm not sure what you're getting at, but....were they all part of the QC Elite AAU program at one time or another? Dude, I lobbed you a softball and you whiffed. NO!!! They were all perfect for Creighton's system!!! (And chose us instead. )

  9. Saw some video -- will try to find the link -- and the kid looks very athletic. You can just see it in the way some kids move. At 6'8" and entering his junior year, you might expect some kids to look a little clumsy or awkward. Not this kid. Very smooth stride. Very smooth. And appears to have some very solid ups. On record right now: I really like this kid.

  17. Here's the vid. Team clip but Isaiah's action is early. Watch how he carries himself for a young, lanky, tall kid. He moves extremely well for a kid with his length at his age. Fantastic body control. He has a very athletic stride. I'd say we're very fortunate to get this early commit because I expect he'd blow up by next summer.

Let's just hope Peavey reverts to his sucky Red Sox form of earlier this year. And don't request Lorde's song "Royals" at any of those late night discos you plan to visit,HB.

Immense really freaky upside here. Cannot wait to watch the havoc he will cause on the defensive end. Could be a little AK47 like in that way(when he used to be healthy), blocking shots, stealing balls etc. Tough to account for that kind of length.

NO!!! They were all perfect for Creighton's system!!! (And chose us instead. ) DAMMIT!!! You're totally right, they are a perfect fit for the "system" McDermott runs, aren't they? What's even more damning is that Creighton was in on all of them way before Miles and NU got involved in their recruiting. Guaranteed. It must really suck to have "little brother" come in and swoop all these prospects out of your blue nest just like that!

  28. Sooooo ... he's serious about the leg hair thing, then. Another thing Miles' recruits have in common with Zucchini: No leg hair. All kidding aside, it makes sense if you think about it. Scary thing is, this kid is already 6'8" and he's still growing. He has guard skills, he's 6'8" and he's not done growing. Color me stoked. Color me stoked was a movie at my stag back when you had stags at somebodies house and had 8mm movies... Oh wait you said stoked not stroked, never mind.

  29. All this talk about divided loyalties--is it not an attack on me? Maybe it is not, since I have justified loyalties on both sides of Nebraska and Northwestern. (I never got on camera because I was not in my usual spot--my family came to the game as well and we were on the other side of the stadium.) I didn't recognize McDermott when he appeared on the screen, but I agree in retrospect that it may have been a sneak-attack. The WildSide (the student section) didn't seem to react much to the reveal of the celebrity like they have for some others (such as "Peanut" Tillman or Morty Schapiro).

  30. Rough start, and my concern is they have been fragile when things head south at times. Was hoping to just front run the entire thing. Gotta get one tomorrow. Thank goodness we have Miles. Notice this verbal after game and all is okay again. This kid has MASSIVE upside. The kind of player that can create serious havoc on defense.

  31. I've been intrigued by this kid since NU started in on recruitment as Miles likes 'em "long, lean & under-rated" -- apparently, also, how Miles likes his zucchini & an 'Arop'~!

  46. I can kind of understand why Dougie might identify with Northwestern - after all, his old team and the 'Cats accomplished similar things team-wise last season: No regular-season conference championship, no conference tournament championship, no team hardware.
