khoock Posted March 11, 2016 Report Posted March 11, 2016 Watched him play today. He was ok. Not sure where we will play him. I also watched Chang. Chang is a wing. A fuel, I'm not sure. Chang didn't play with the same effort, especially on defense. My friend used to be the head coach at Hamilton and is an official for high school games now.I'm not sure how quick Arop is but I think he will be a 2 or 3 for us. Quote
lanigan123 Posted March 11, 2016 Report Posted March 11, 2016 Arop, I think is a 3, but Chang as far as athleticism seems like he is a step above from Arop, but that's just judging one game. I think Arop plays at a faster pace or with more GATA Quote
HB Posted March 12, 2016 Report Posted March 12, 2016 Went to the game last night. It was only one game, and I'm far from being a talent scout, but I don't see it. He's long and athletic, but is not skilled and has a bad outside shot. If he would grow and play inside, I could see it. But I don't see him being a wing at the next level. I'm tired of guys who can't put it in the hole. I realize what is tantalizing to the eye with this guy, but I don't see Power 5 wing skill here. A huge project, and I'm not sure we need to go there anymore. Quote

Tough spot to put Miles in because if he would go somewhere else and succeed, then people would nail him for not recruiting instate talent. Lose lose situation. Quote

lanigan123 Posted March 12, 2016 Report Posted March 12, 2016 I'm guessing Arop. I think he has a role though, but not the same talent as Chang. Chang talent wise is legit. Arop to me will be a great defender right away. Quote
Bugeaters1 Posted March 13, 2016 Report Posted March 13, 2016 Does any one know if Arop has hairy legs? Quote
Huskerone Posted March 13, 2016 Report Posted March 13, 2016 Watching Arop in the class A final on NET. I think he looks very athletic, and has another year to develop. Count me as one that is glad he is committed to Nebrasketball. Husker4theSpurs 1 Quote
Husker4theSpurs Posted March 13, 2016 Report Posted March 13, 2016 Arop looks like the better recruit between the two to me. Chang has time to develop however. I just wasn't impressed by his (Chang) effort when I watched the first day of state. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted March 13, 2016 Report Posted March 13, 2016 I hope Arop grows an additional 5 inches. Quote
KearneyMan Posted March 13, 2016 Report Posted March 13, 2016 Sorry guys I wasn't that impressed with Arop!!! Quote
Swan88 Posted March 13, 2016 Report Posted March 13, 2016 Aguek's athleticism is impressive and undeniable. When he took it to the hole off the dribble from way out front, my thought is that he looked like Tai doing what Tai does best--only with greater athleticism. That move, when it's available, is unstoppable. Aguek will be great at NU! Quote

Hopefully he has the same work ethic as Tai. Quote
ShortDust Posted March 13, 2016 Report Posted March 13, 2016 After watching him yesterday, I can see the resemblance. I do think Arop will need to work quite a bit on ball handling and his shot. He was really long and moved feet pretty well for the biggest guy against a smaller guards. Quote
khoock Posted March 13, 2016 Report Posted March 13, 2016 I thought Arop had a quiet state tournament. But good for him for getting a ring bc Papio will be tough to beat next year. Quote

colhusker Posted March 17, 2016 Report Posted March 17, 2016 I will start by saying I have not seen the kid play. But lets say the guys here who say he is not a good shooter are correct, would you be happy with him being a defensive specialist. IF Gill, Roby, Horne (who has a nice touch on his shot), Watson, McVeigh and Marrow can shoot Quote
