Here we go! Can't wait to analyze every tweeted word.

I like to analyze the unseen 141st and beyond characters too.  ;) Makes Twitter much more interesting.

Having that 3rd year available makes him a little more desirable for a team like Nebraska, which has the extremely large junior-to-be class. It'd be nice for roster balance to add a JuCo who would be a sophomore, rather than another junior.

Not really sure how I feel about this offer. I know we can over-sign by one, but I would rather see the big man, than another point guard.

Wish there was some film out there of him.

I've been following him for a week or two and, I know we all over analyze tweets, but you get the impression he'd go to Iowa if given the chance.  Hopefully we can get him on a visit and change his mind about that.

For all the guys who think this is a recruit that indicates we're displeased with our point guard play: Iowa is looking at him.

Do you think Iowa has any issues at the point?

If you have a guy that's super talented like TD you offer him.

We have 3 point guards on the roster and offered TD....I'd say it does have to say Miles isn't pleased by our PG play.  The Iowa offer is a testament to how good the kid is.

Miles has said he likes to play two point guards at the same time, so we could certainly use another one with Biggs being a question mark and Parker being nothing more than a deep reserve at this point.

Iowa hasn't offered but saw today Fran wants to see him and get him on campus for a visit ASAP. I wonder if our offer made Iowa a little more urgent? Anyways, if we can get him on campus which it sounds like we will, I am fairly confident in our chances. Also judging by his scoring numbers, he might take a lot of Rey's minutes at the 2 next year?

Over/Under on this thread: 30 pages

we are already flipping back and forth between, we have no chance, to maybe will get him, we are on the verge of twitter stalking (he liked what he saw from Petteway) yea ill take the overs.

Does he have an Iowa offer?  If he does and really wants to be a Hawkeye, as some on here have guessed, then he could make it easy and just commit there.

I got the sense he wanted bigger-name offers than what he committed to out of HS.  And he has those now.  But how much bigger is he looking for?  Does Iowa have significantly more cachet, really, than we do?  I mean, obviously a little bit with being ranked or whatever.  But they ain't exactly Duke.  Nor are they Michigan, frankly.

Miles said awhile back that we'll start landing these bigger-name, higher-profile players as soon as we give them reason to believe that we're on our way up and the best way to do that is by winning.  Knocking off IU on Thursday night would be a long step in the right direction.

He does not have an Iowa offer. I think our gauging by his 'retweets', he seems to like the attention by Iowa fans. No reason or point to discuss his tweets however lol. I did see online that Fran wants to see him ASAP & get him on campus for a visit.

The rest I think is speculation...

Perhaps Gesell is looking to transfer to Notre Dame ;)

The Hawkeyes will probably offer on his visit. I really hope he sees the opportunity at Nebraska. I don't see Iowa as being a marquee program, at least from a historical perspective. Rather, I see them as being a program similar to us that started their rebuilding process two years earlier than we did, so they're ahead of schedule relative to where we are.

Let's say he does take that viewpoint, why wouldn't he still take Iowa? I hope he check NU out and see what's happening here for himself, but that logic doesn't seem to bode well for NU if that's how he looks at it.

Some interesting notes on BHGP:  http://www.blackheartgoldpants.com/2014/1/27/5346896/hoops-recruiting-lets-look-at-some-iowa-recruiting-targets

"Let's start with point guard Trey Dickerson. He originally committed to Murray State last year selecting the Racers over Rutgers and Arkansas. He decided to take the JUCO route instead and ended up at Williston State. There, he's averaging 20.2 points and six assists per game. He's originally from New York (Queens) but played high school in California. He's yet to receive an offer from Iowa but appears to favor the Hawks over interest from Missouri, Nebraska, Auburn and Creighton.

**Update**

Dickerson uses Twitter to gauge the interest of another prospect (Willie Atwood) about possibly playing together in the future.

Dickerson tweeted directly to Willie Atwood of Connors State Community College (Oklahoma). Atwood is a 6'8" forward that is averaging 21.1 points per game and 9.3 rebounds. Like Dickerson, his lead recruiter is Andrew Francis. Also, like Dickerson, he's yet to receive an Iowa offer but lists offers from Wichita State, Marshall and a couple others. He's receiving interest from K State, Oklahoma, Okie State, Ole Miss and a handful of other BCS level programs."

Anybody know if we have any interest in Willie Atwood, maybe making a package deal happen?

Dickerson: First offer from NU to play "big role"
January 26, 2014 12:37 pm  •  By BRIAN ROSENTHAL / Lincoln Journal Star

I visited briefly Saturday night with Trey Dickerson, the junior college point guard at Williston, N.D., who earlier in the day received a Nebraska scholarship offer.

He sounded like a likeable, outgoing young man who was clearly excited about Nebraska being the first school from a major conference to offer him.

“It will definitely play a big role in my recruitment,” said Dickerson, whose offer list is expected to grow between now and the first day of the late spring signing period.

The apparent Biggs departure would seem to present a nice opportunity for Dickerson to find a more meaningful role at NU than some of his other likely options. I'm sure that won't go unmentioned or unnoticed.

I see that he has recently followed a number of NU-related twitter users.
